Though the texture gave me a real headache, two canceled downloads and I spent like 5 minutes spamming new tabs until I finally got a server that worked.

You can disable it, you know. The endorse popup. o:

I've returned after an extended hiatus, I was going to get back into modding but seeing as the shitheads are still in blossom, I may have to re-think that. Do you perchance make weapons with skulls? We recently lost our resident spikey skull weapon maker perhaps you could fill in?
GrimReaper Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Well, atleast you got your mods. I use Pureweather and it's one of my favorite lighting mods. The final version gets rid of most of those odd snow weather events. A pain you can only get it at nexus. Tbh I got it mostly because I wanted to use the new AIR enb and pure weather was recommended for said enb. So far it looks quite nice. And Relighting Skyrim looks better than ELE that I was using until now. I know that lighting mods are essential for having a decent looking skyrim but most of the time I can't be bothered to actually install them. It's always like a bazillion esps and since I install every mod manually it can be quite a pain to keep track of what weather mod does what. The ones replacing textures and meshes are especially annoying. Ahem, anyway. I do think you can get pure weather at the steam workshop too but I never use that. Doesn't go well with manually installing since it just downloads everything into your data folder, I hate that.

Would you recommend I switch? o: I can only recommend that you try out new mods every now and then, you might be surprised. In a good or bad way, that is. watch the first minute or so, you never know what your game will look like if you change a few things. Or don't change anything at all for that matter. You can make a copy of the Mods data and pack it into a separate zip folder. Then just unsubscribe from said mod then install it normally. yes but that's even more of a hassle. Like I said, I especially hate installing weather and lighting mods. ugh

Forget Falskaar, which was basically one huge half-working portfolio; Wyrmstooth kills it completely.
Kendo 2 Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Falskaar was 'ok'. The project has a lot of work and man hours poured into it and I liked the new world space. The only few isssues I had were the mechanics of it. One town with only a few traders (too easy to break the bank), the main quest epic battles were too difficult (I had to lower the game difficulty from Expert to Adept just to finish the big battles) and the ONE thing I really didn't like was one part of the main quest where the dungeon was a silly amalgam of fort ruins, ancient Nord ruins, Dwemer ruins, caves, etc. If there was a dungeon tile in the CK it got used for that one part. Anyway, I had a friend download it for me. He was MAD by the time it was ready. Nexus booted his download three times. At one point the estimated download time was TWO DAYS.

Wyrmstooth is pretty awesome though, I loved that one. But fuck Falskaar. The voice acting was so bad I almost felt personally insulted when I heard the Khajiit. The women sound like the're stoned out of their fucking minds when they fight which is not to say the men sound any better. So much hatred. Must..... contain.... *implodes*
GrimReaper Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I don't really like Falskaar because the proclaimed goal of the author was to make more vanilla content, i.e. doing everything Skyrim already does on its own. The worldspace looked a bit too flat for my taste and there isn't really anything to see that you don't know from Skyrim, save a few quests from the main story. Apart from that, it's the same that Skyrim has to offer, really. Now a new worldspace mod I really like is Beyond Reach, it got some great atmosphere that's quite different from what other mods have to offer.
