HxH is good too i hope the creator still make this till end... not hiatus again if you want emotional maybe you can watch angel beats, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, nisekoi (good comedy, laugh alot)

It's not as funny as the previous two seasons and the animation seems like it's lower quality. Am I imagining this? And fucking Funimation is the ruination of anime. Their translations are the worst and the added censoring they do is just distracting.

Their translations are the worst and the added censoring they do is just distracting. Not exactly rushed. I have the LN the anime is based on. The story's mostly intact with slight alterations. The LN felt longer because it's harder to express the scene with words alone. Also, it starts getting more serious from this point onwards though some of Issei's antics are pretty much there nonetheless. I'm still awaiting for the episode where Issei went cannibalistic (literally) on the enemy. It's foreshadowed in the OP already so I'm itching to see how they portray his berserk mode.

Well, the script writer seems to be filtering some parts of the LN to be shorter. Example would be Loki's little Ragnarok stunt. That should have been further back if you follow the LN storyline as I just checked the books. Guess they deem that irrelevant to the big picture but that would probably mean they filtered out a lot of Akeno's drama either. As far as the foreshadowing goes, I would say that they're focusing more up to book 7 out of 19 as far as I know existed. Still waiting for my friend's confirmation if 20 is out. Still, the appearance of Sairaorg (that guy who was watching Issei training) makes me wonder if they are putting book 10 into this season. Wouldn't be too bad watching the brawl of the century coming on life in animated glory.

I just realized it was the series you were referring to when I rethink that you mentioning "Death Parade"... The OVA isn't really long. Just one standard episode. It's actually a competition entry for amateur animation production or something along that line. Also, I have a request. Is there any mecha anime that runs along the line like Aldnoah Zero where the protagonist wins battles using brain rather than brawn?

Remember when scriptwriters wrote personalities and traits and implemented those traits in associated mannerisms on to the animated avatar affiliated with the personality in question thus birthing a character instead of lazily creating an empty husk decorated with cliche?........yeeaahhhh. Probably the only humanistic defining feature of the MC has is his fascination with eggs. lol. Long story short, characters are pretty generic. Dropped the anime after the first few episodes. Go watch Code Geass or Gundam 00 if you want good mech anime in general. Currently watching Kara no Kyoukai, really enjoying this one. Had to contact a few friends just to get my hands on a copy.
Rias Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I watched aldnoah zero a week ago. You need to turn off your brain on some scenes to get any sense of enjoyment out of it. No where near as good as Code Geass. ALL HAIL LELOUCH!! Best ending ever.

mkprovince Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Well, that's the problem. Most of the mecha anime just follows the idea that the MC will always get the better mech as story dictates. Probably something of an influence of past Super Robot anime. I actually quite like the idea of an intelligent anime main character when Code Geass first aired and Aldnoah literally nailed that to the dead center. Speaking of mech anime, I read in one of the weekly manga magazines I buy that Gargantia's second season got cancelled. Can anyone confirm that?

Mecha is suffering the same staleness that every other genre of anime is suffering from, no one wants to diverge from the set formula (there are exceptions, Aldnoah Zero and Cross Ange to a lesser degree) that all we get is the same shit only with different mecha.

Cross Ange is glorious garbage. I have no idea how that show managed to weasel the budget for 20+ episodes out of someone but they did it and they produced...something. I kinda liked Aldnoah Zero.
