monsta88 Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Hello ihatemykite, I have an issue, which connects to the fact that I don't do a proper new game, I just use ReSaver to clean the mod from the save game and install the new version. So I don't expect it to work properly and I am completely fine if there is no solution. Unfortunatley I noticed that the Abadon quest does not work. It is most likely because I did an update while the quest started (it just appeared in the Journal, but no actual device was found). I tried to repair it by doing stopquest, resetquest and startquest. I consoled myself the "strange letter" but the quest doesn't react to reading it. Maybe I was in the wrong stage. Anyway, that is the one of the parts of this fine mod which I could not see before, so I was wondering if there is a way to make it work. If not, that is completely fine, I will start a proper new game eventually at some point. Peace, M

I had this problem before, basically either base game or some other mod reserves Ysolda's reference and don't allow reusing it for UD, making it unable to fill references. The workaround would be a) manually fill references for player, plug and letter, if you know how to do it, or b) change letter sender reference in CK/xEdit to different NPC such as Wuunferth. and restart the quest. In any case, keeping midgame-updated UD is ill-advised, I did this a plenty times before and usually the result was unpredictably unstable.

It makes the concepts presented by DD feel so much more interactive and meaningful when the player "accidently" gets stuck in devices. I have one question... Given that this system introduces "sentient" restraints, that can "auto lock" themselves, like the leg cuffs / arm cuffs, and seemingly all restraints having the ability to "emit black smoke" and add restraints to the player, would it be possible to make these features toggleable? - I only ask this because, while the feature does add an element of suspense and eagerness to remove devices quickly, to the random encounters in dungeons / etc... it can be absolutely immersion breaking during various "devious quests" that rely on the player having a certain degree of freedom to complete them or enjoy the quest line appropriately. I don't know how difficult it would be to do this on a per device, or per quest device level, given that would most likely require other mod author's involvement. Thus, I believe the easiest approach could be making these "sentient" effects toggleable and perhaps even allowing a slider for controlling the chance a device possesses these attributes...

I'm not a native english speaker, so at the beginning I didn't really focus on the english, but more on the technical side of the mod. Alright, not sure what is causing the straightjacket to not appear then but as long as it's something on my end I'll not mention it again. As for #3, would be more than willing to give a grammar passover sometime if you have a link to the github repo

You can disable MAO(manifest on orgasm) and MAH(manifest hourly) in the MCM at DD Patch tab for the patched generic devices. For devices added by this mod it's by design.

I guess you should offer this suggestion in the DD development thread?

Just a little update: I noticed that I actually forgot to update the mod to b11 (from b4, I haven't played since a while). I couldn't even do it with my usual method, the mod did not initialize properly after b5. So I tried another no-no method: removed the mod and the UD patches during game. Then I did a savegame clean and activated b11. So far so good. When I left my house the courier arrived at once and the Abadon quest started.

JSYK this method will still contaminate your save file with rogue formlists, those that game could not tie to mod or remove them properly. On my experience usually exactly them contribute to save corruption.

Unfortunately DD died somehow, so I will have to go back before I tried this (ofc I made a save before I tried this).

Suggest you to run "reset zadQuest" console command on that save if you still care about it.

Not all devices can emit black smoke, only ones that have either Random Hour Manifest or Random Orgasm Manifest. Only exception is Abadon plug which have it build in script. Adding switch so devices are not manifested is not hard. Its more difficult to find out when is right time to turn this feature off. I think that right now, the way to make features disabled is by opening debug menu and removing the modifiers which are causing the issue. I didn't add switch for cuffs. But it may be good idea to add it in MCM. But I like the idea, so I may give it a look. I can add it as random event on boots script. Of course, that would mean that DD event can still happen. 1

I have to reset orgasm variable and toggle "show wigdet" any time i load a save. Even tried on new game. Do you have any idea what it could be? And if i drink the cursed goo i get an error [UD, !Error, T-1015,278076]: LockDevicePatched(Edea, Punisher Armbinder) failed!!! ID Fail? It's possible that you only doesn't see widget. You can try using some plug and see if the orgasm rate increase in details menu. I got it working now but i had to first start struggling while having a plug, then press ressist pleasure and reset variable in debug menu while also disabling and enabling "show widget". Strange but atleast it works now Did you see the device locked on? Did you see it rendered on character? If not than did you have any other devices locked on when you consumed the goo? 2: It didn't show up on my inventory and my character also didn't have any rendered. I was completly naked when i consumed the goo AE so I can't tell if that is the source of the problem. Its possible but if you have some outdated dll mod, as that could easily break the engine. 3: I think that may be the main problem, as this was the only thing i changed before it stopped working.

It seems the pierced nipples are making trouble, as it takes very long to equip Papyrus.0.log 1

Sadly, I didn't add error msg to see which exact condition it is. I'm going to add them, and then I will send you an updated version. In the meantime you try enabling DD logging a try it again. There are nowhere msgs in log from DD ([zad]) so I will assume you have turned this feature off. It would be useful if I could see the msg that it puts in log.

Just giving you heads up that log contains tremendous amount of errors on DD framework itself, specifically device hider function. My personal opinion - DD .dll failed to load, compatibiltiy problem. 2

Cornoholio Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 (edited) Is there a way to disable restraints that bind the arms? Yokes, binders and so on? They really hinder the gameplay, as the black smoke always seems to manifest as one of them for me when I already wear some devices. Also, but that's a minor one, the Abbadon Suit is invisible for me. Maybe I built the wrong mesh, which one do I need to build in BS to get it showing up?
