I've looked into adding heel sounds, but it has turned out to be very difficult to find appropriate sounds to use.

1. Its key that it be done with NO dependency on a mod. Adding a dependency is not worth it, for such a simple thing
   • What I mean by simple is... implementing correctly made sounds is easy... getting the sounds themselves.... hard
2. I've tried that mod. I find the sounds to be.... how can I say this nicely....  horrible... like as in... I would never want to listen to that
3. If the mod's sounds were a fit, I'd ask the author for permission to integrate their sounds into Toys. But they are not a fit
4. What we need is sounds to use, not a mod and a dependency
5. Toys Workshop is the other mod with heels, but the solution for Workshop would come through Toys. Workshop would just reference the Toys Footsteps, once it has them

Help me find a mod with good sounds ! 

• The ones in that Heels Sound mod, sound like they were recorded in an echo chamber, but they are otherwise the right idea
• There's clip clop sounds in DD, but nothing tells me who authored them. If we knew who the author was, then I could try to get permission. Now that said, not sure clip clop is the right sounds... I think ok for Bitch Boot, but not the smaller heels
• I've tried using vanilla game animal footsteps, like deer hooves... they won't work as they are quad, not bi

But perhaps someone knows of some other mod doing it, and then I could try and track down the source, and the author. High Heels mod, for example is just using sounds from another author.

Thanks. This could work. I did not even have to threaten with the whip!   

 

There's no author mentioned for sounds, but I have a feeling they used vanilla horse sounds and figured out how to convert (just make use of the sound files) for bi instead of quad. So I'd be using vanilla sounds. 

 

Do they sound the same as DD's clip clop? Are we guessing that this is in fact where DD's clip clop comes from?

They sound similar, maybe a bit better (if that's possible ?)

Also the DD ones seem to copy the issue with sound breaks from horses.

I like the Heel Sound mod, that's why I never searched for an alternative.

 

 

Still more about hooves sounds:

The Author that used the better sounds on a custom race. I was surprised how well the sound was. Maybe the author knows more. Now that you're a Nexusianer you might have special contact powers too?

I was already in the possession of the Love Shout from SLaVE. I was doing the main Toy Story quest which takes you into the Vale, with the frozen lake and the two dragons, and I love shouted at them, lol. The Love Shout was never designed to do 2 dragons, but somehow, it worked, sort of, lol. Oh and that well known ghost, she's in the pic, if you look carefully in the bottom left corner.

So i read the first few pages of the thread and was wondering about the current state of the compatability with DD. How well does D play with toys at this point. Im interested in trying toys out, ive only ever had DD before and kinda want to still use some of those mods like DF - Continued, Devious Stories, SD+, Survival,, Slaverun, and Submissive Lola all of which have either DD depencies or have DD as an optional requirement.

I've been running DD and Toys together for ages and haven't had any problems.

According to the poll up top of this thread (started it just a few weeks ago), 75% of Toys users run DD with Toys. This likely says a lot, considering I never see questions/problems posted about DD.

 

Toys - Tips & Tricks ... Part of this discusses what to expect with DD.

 

If you install SLaVE + Toys, be sure to check this... Known Mod Conflicts, since you list a mod that works fine with SLaVE, but only if you get the load order right.

Thanks, yeah load order is always a bitch to get right. I lost my last mod list i had basically perfected to a dead hardrive, so im taking this opritunity to play around with other stuff in my mod list.

When I load my game there will be a bunch of warnings that the Toys version is incorrect for the toy boxes I have installed. I have the latest versions of Toys and Toy Boxes anyone else having this issue? Anyone know how to fix this?

I had the patch for version 1.7 mcm problem still in my mod order. I removed it and now there's no warnings.
