To keep it simple, there will be a certain number of user defined "strip slots", probably using a drop down to pick from, and only giving valid slots to pick. So for example it might let you pick 4 additional to the standard, and deselect some of the standard. Since Toys&Love takes a very aggressive stance on FAST & simplified, particularly during setup which stripping is a part of, it's important this be kept simple, otherwise we ruin that speed.

  • In the Toy Setup & Properties section of this doc... Toys&Love - Mod Author's Documentation, you can see a table with slot usage for Toys. This Slot usage has been around for years and became a standard after ZAZ and then DD designated the slots. Toys did not copy, but it did use that standard. I realize not all mods adhere to it, particularly if you've never heard of LL. There ARE conflicts and this is inevitable and problematic of course
  • You mention in some use case of yours... 49 for panties and 56 for bra
  • Toys uses 49 for Chastity toys and 56 is indeed for Breast toys

The reason Toys is not stripping for you in those slots.... It's instead expecting a toy there if anything.

  • If its not a Toys toy, it assumes it a DD or ZAZ item and it leaves it alone
  • If it's a Toys toy, it will "phase the toy into oblivion" (aka hide), and in cases where the toy has a restrictive keyword, it will leave the toy on
  • This hiding is going to become little more refined maybe, depending on the Scene, and may optionally influence which scenes play
    • i.e. toy blocks anal... filter out anal scenes, but not to the extent where there's too few animations for fun, so we will give some user choices

So you can see why an item that is not a toy, in those 2 slots for your case, is difficult for me to sort out how to handle. The "extra" slots user-defined, were not going to include slots designated for Toys toys (and ZAZ and DD), since we wont' want to strip DDs and ZAZ items.

 

We have cases like bikini armor which I'm sure present similar problems. Does Bikini armor use slot 49 and 56? This might be exactly what you are talking about.

 

What are your thoughts on all this (f you don't mind getting into all this detail)?

As someone who uses a lot of custom clothing and armor sets, that frequently use unusual slots I like the solution in SexLab where it shows you in the MCM what you have equipped and allows you to choose what to strip, what to leave alone and what to handle according to the slot based standards defined elsewhere. I would be ok with it only showing what is in what slot and then give me the drop-down list with the slots to strip besides that. That would actually be superior.
What I would hate is having to find out some way or another what slot an item actually occupies, then having to note those down, before setting the corresponding slots in the Toys MCM.

Bikini armor is actually kind of an odd case. "Vanilla" TAWOBA uses slot 32 for the top and slot 52 for the bottom. This causes tons of problems with SOS and DD both. The loverslab version of TAWOBA uses the Devious Devices slot assignments (49 for the bottom... top might still be 32 because of the reference body) however. 

 

I do encounter a lot of mods however where the 49/56 pattern for separate top/bottom is already in place, so DD has apparently had some influence on the community.

I actually mostly followed DD in selecting the slots:
32 - Body (mostly fullbody)
33 - Gauntlets
35 - Necklace
36 - Ring
37 - Boots
42 - Headdress
43 - Earrings
44 - Mask
45 - Collar
47 - Cape
49 - Panty, Thong
52 - Skirt, Pants, Tassets
53 - Stockings, Leggings
56 - Bra, Bikini, Pasties
58 - Korsett
59 - Sleeves

The reason was that many mods seem to follow it and on the other hand that exactly the corresponding pieces of clothing would then be replaced by toys. So that, for example, no nipple rings shine through the bikini.

Hmm, as an additional indentification than exclusively the slots, you could also check keywords. SexLab Aroused offers for example "SLA_ArmorPartTop", "SLA_ArmorPartBottom", "SLA_ThongT" etc., which I personally also use so far.

Guys i can't figure out how this mod REALLY works. What counts as toys or how i reduce the rousal or how i make my character get simultaneous orgasms etc.
Can someone give me a quick summary of how everything works please ?

And how do i disable the max rousing "fucked up sight" effect please ? It's giving me a headache since idk how to reduce the rousing by myself.

I am using SLA, SLaV, H&W etc. so yeah please help me understand this mod i want to be able to use it

Thanks all. I've edited the above down to the main thoughts that are the take away for me. This is going to be more complicated than I hoped. I did not build the feature into 2.0 knowing this would probably be the case.

 

Since complicated also means reduced stripping speed, the first thing I'm going to try to achieve is multi-threaded stripping, so that the parallel processing can compensate for stripping doing more work.

Site with all the info.. Toys Family of Mods. I picked some articles from it...

What counts as toys - Don't know what you mean by that. Are you running also with DD and don't know which is from DD and which is from Toys?

In the Toys MCM, Worn Toys tab, you can see which toys you are currently wearing, thus if its not there, its not a toy.

 

disable the max rousing "fucked up sight" - Toys has no effect that impairs your sight. If you mean impairs your sight, DD dose have that. Toys does have the Pulsate effect, as well several other things, that cause camera shake. If that is disorienting and what you are speaking of, you can turn it down lower, or off... its on Toys MCM -Effects 3 tab. 

 

I am using SLA, SLaV, H&W etc - Note that SLA (Sexlab Aroused) is not a Toys mod. Its not required but if you have it, it can be integrated, or left independent.... "Sync with SLA" is on option in the MCM.

 

 

If you need more help, try some very specific questions.

Edit: Oh i have another question, can i use SLSO (Seperate Orgasms) with this mod ? Y'now since it has the option to caress the partner and stuff.

Edit2: Is Toyful Temptations (seen this on the articles) compatible with DCL ? Or does DCL spawn the toys as traps too ?

I've not used DD in a while, so not a good source of help. It's MCM probably still lets you change the type of blind effect, including one with minimal effect.

SLSO is a patch for Sexlab. Can't be used for Toys&Love but nor is it needed. Toys&Love has features similar to SLSO built in, so no need to patch it.

 

"Caress" is a Toys&Love feature, not found in SLSO. Only Toys&Love uses the terminology "Caress" and has a Caress hotkey. You don't need anything else to use it, just this mod.

Sexlab is a Love Scenes Framework

- SLSO is a patch exclusively for Sexlab

 

DD is a Bondage Framework

- DCL is a content mod exclusively for DD

- DCL distributes devices and keys for DD

 

Toys&Love is Bondage Framework like DD AND also a Love Scenes Framework like Sexlab. It also has Rousing, like SLA....  its 3 frameworks in 1.  It does not need DD or Sexlab or SLA

- TT is a content mod exclusively for Toys&Love

- TT distributes toys and keys for Toys&Love

Is it normal for it to expand the skse co-save size to almost 4MB? I have removed other mods for testing purpose and the co-save sits around 15KB but as soon as this one is enabled it jump significantly.

Toys&Love is using JContainers to store Data. For example Love Scenes from SLAL Packs. This is one of the reasons it can start Scenes much faster than other mods. No data is saved in Skyrim objects or arrays etc.

 

JContainers saves this data in the co-save.

 

What I've noticed is that both the regular save and the co-save are about 1/3rd the size they were (reduced from 12mb to 4mb) when I had other mods installed that are no longer needed. I think SLA was a big contributor, but now it's not required. You get a very noticeable boost in load/save times for saves. Let me know if you see the same.

Yeah I was just testing this out. The size is definitely due to having a bunch of animations loaded from the SLAnims/json directory. When I reduced animations to just the included packs the save was only 30kb.

Only relevant for translators:
Would be nice if all relevant text outputs and MCM-Menus could be found under "interface/translations/toys_english.txt".
It is not so easy to find all relevant strings in the scripts that need to be translated and to avoid touching strings that should better not be changed.
And with every update, this has to be repeated.

I've been waiting for the day a translator calls me out on this :P I'm sure there's conventions and such for what a mod should have to support proper translation. But I don't know that they are. Not just Toys&Love needs it, but all the Toys Family we work on. So it's probably a rather massive task. I've seen at a surface level, what it means for an MCM, and its no small change, and more than a txt file. The mod needs to use that txt file. So not promising anything, but do you know of a guide..... like a "Guide for Dummies... How to Make You Mod Easy to Translate" ?

Basically it's quite simple, I've tried it once with a mod which will not be developed further (Slaverun).
In the place where the text is in the script, there must be a code instead, for example "$TOYS_MCM_01" (without ") and exactly this code comes then also in the text file together with the text: $TOYS_MCM_01   First entry (separated with a tabulator).

Is that for script only? What about things in the CK, like Dialogue?

Yes, that works as far as I know only with the scripts, but even there the translation.txt is needed.
For the dialogs, object names, etc. there are tools like xTranslator with which you can translate them easily and uncomplicated.

This is what we've got coming for Stripping next release.

  • I'm hoping I've found the right balance between simplification, ease of use, and enough functionality
  • Been testing with 2 different versions of TAWOBA, and some other stuff, including toys from Toys of course, and SOS. Does all I've found it needs to do
  • This works for NPCs too, and is integrated with the Toys "Phasing into Oblivion" (aka hiding) feature that's been in play for a long time
  • There's a few slots, like weapons and shield, that are not in the UI, but does not mean they don't strip, it just means you should not be able to NOT strip them
  • There's also a few slots that I don't think anyone would ever strip, and one case where it would be problematic to allow it

Sheeesh what a pain in the ass this has been :P  But Nocturnal does teach us that pain is pleasure.

 

Speed for scene startup is faster now, even though its doing twice as much work, because Stripping and Hiding (and some other things now), have become threaded. This means there's no waiting for stripping to complete.

 

The pics show the defaults, with my innocent virgin wearing some TAWOBA (remastered edition from SunJeong) and 3 Toys from the Curio Toy Box.

 

So tell me if anything problematic stands out for you. Course till you get your hands on it for real, its hard to know.

I like the UI - though I don't think I can give it a fair evaluation until I try it out in game. Glad to see that this kind of functionality is moving forward however.
