MysticDaedra Posted June 2, 2023 Posted June 2, 2023 Hah, nice! Glad you were able to catch the error, those easy fixes are the best (and most common lol) kinds of bugs. So far the only faction I've been assimilated by is the Gunners. Been spending a lot of time in their areas of operation. If I have any other issues related to other factions, I'll be sure to let you know. I have to say, version 3.0 feels significantly more polished, which is no small thing for a Loverslab mod! I'm mightily impressed, if I say so myself. Oh, one more thing I noticed (although not sure if it's actually a bug with Assimilation tbh): I never ever got a tattoo on my character, even after multiple messages indicating that a gunner had changed my character's skin/used a tattoo gun. I have been getting tattoos via Tattoo after Rape, but I am aware that the tattoo situation for Fallout 4 isn't as solid as it is in Skyrim. Might be something there to look into. Keep up the great work!

Keep up the great work! Thanks for the kudos. Hey, just because those of us on Lover's Lab aren't afraid of sex doesn't mean we don't appreciate an immersive experience uninterrupted by bugs. Nothing kills the mood more than a CTD! Yes, a note on the "get a bunch of tattoos when first affected".... Assimilation uses an old API from Random Overlay Framework that I don't think @Invictusblade may support anymore. It is only referenced in the debug/tools section of that mod's MCM and I hijacked it to use for Assimilation. I don't think it was ever an official API for that mod, but it worked and so I left it in there. It was cool because when you first got affected it could be quite drastic: head shaved, bunch of tattoos added, clothed in a harness... you're definitely not in Sanctuary anymore. That said, I have also noticed that the API is not as consistent as it was around the time I released Assimilation version 2.0 one year ago. I have not bugged about it though because as I said I don't think it was ever officially supported. I do like it though because of how many tattoo mods it supports. So I have been coming up with a new plan... (cue dramatic music)... The Tattoo After Rape "give me 1 random tattoo" API is very consistent and supported and used by many mods. I thought of just having options in Assimilation of "number of tattoos to apply when physically affected" (i.e. body only) and "number of tattoos to apply when assimilated" (i.e. when first assimilated to a faction). Then just stop calling the other API that I hijacked and get rid of the support for that mod plugin. Default of 1 tattoo for physically affected and 5 tattoos for first assimilated. What do you think? Make it so? (shameless Star Trek reference) Edited June 2, 2023 by louisthird 1
louisthird Posted June 2, 2023 Author Posted June 2, 2023 After a brief pause for resolving issues from the 3.0 release I can't wait to write some more Help Quests. BoS... Got Ferals? Mutant Scum! Initiate Initiates. Gunners... Precious Cargo. Guard Dog. Shore Leave. Triggermen... Cement Shoes. Even the Score. Hello to The Boss. Railroad... Here to There. Only a Whisper. Traitor Joes. In The Caboose. Just so many ideas. 3

(shameless Star Trek reference) Some of the best references are from Star Trek Yeah, I'd say go for the Tattoos after Rape option. I have issues with that mod as well on occasion, usually in the form of no tattoo despite getting a debug message saying that a tattoo was applied, but usually it works. And given that I'm currently not getting any tattoos with the current method... yeah, I'd vote for switching over.
Freedom2017 Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 Loved the mod, Can you consider the following ideas for super mutant faction it can make assimilation with super mutant faction a bit more interesting, cosmetic changes, mostly: 1. Change in special stats when FEV is transferred to the player character: Say if the PC received FEV 4 times from a super mutant, then it would increase strength, endurance and agility by 1, debuff to luck and charisma, perception and intelligence should not change imo, cause super mutant do not have problems perceiving the world and commonwealth super mutants are not known to be intelligent but they're not stupid either, so FEV at low dosage should not affect intelligence. 2.. FEV effects are permanent: atleast an option in the MCM menu to make the morphs permanent, like increase in height and muscle and change in SPECIALS. 3. Change in skin and eye colour and texture: once assimilated into the super mutant faction, have a info log saying "The super mutants inject you with FEV but as luck would have it, the dosage wasn't potent enough to turn you into a super mutant, you're a half human half mutant" Say your skin would have a green undertone, which can be done quite easily in the looksmenu options, glowing eyes, with a heavily muscular body texture, you can use the overlay option works as same as a tattoos. As for perks you can have high radiation and damage resistance plus you can become a cannibal and have lead belly No change in voice cause you're still human, mostly. 4. If you opt to be in the super mutant faction, have additional quests where you can take over settlement or have settlers give away food and water. 1
MysticDaedra Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 (edited) So, my character's skin was changed by super mutants (doing Milking Human Kindness), and a weird effect is now occurring: the side of her body in shadow appears to have this green-ish texture (like a super mutant/FEV skin texture?), but the side in the light is regular. Kinda odd, I believe this is due to Assimilation, not sure. Could be an ENB is interfering with the effect. Spoiler Edited June 3, 2023 by MysticDaedra

Yes, I added that for the latest version of Assimilation. Like it? It should wear off after the FEV bonus effect times out. The green tint is associated with the effect and that is why it should wear off. When the FEV bonus' effect goes away, so should the green effect. 1

Almost all of this is already in the Assimilation version 3.0 so try it out. Perks, 100% muscle on body triangle. CBBE muscular all 100% by default. Green tint to skin and scale is set 1.05% so you're a little taller too (those wear off with perks). Here are the FEV perks: 2

If I gave you a list of sliders would you be able to create an option to use FG instead of CBBE, and use the different slider names?

Let's talk about Fusion Girl and the slider names. You're recommending an MCM option be added for CBBE vs. Fusion Girl and it uses different sliders for muscular for Super Mutants, correct? I found the link to Fusion Girl: That's the correct one, right? Edited June 3, 2023 by louisthird
Commanderx Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 I've been running into issues where I get a quest to please or kiss members of the faction but nothing it counting towards it and in the latter case the option doesn't always appear in the menu.
truman1990 Posted June 3, 2023 Posted June 3, 2023 I have encountered a small bug where when you are bound to a furniture and you are also assimilated then both mods compete with each other to dress/undress player.

A mod adding beds/stoves to Super Mutant locations does not actually have to coordinate with my mod. Such a mod would just add them into the Commonwealth and then you could use them like any other one. There are a lot of places in playing Assimilation that I wished had one workbench or another... an armor workbench at Layton Towers comes to mind... Red Rockets usually have everything; except beds. SAKR seems to be pretty cool. I could certainly see using it for dialogue. Locking apparel I found was one of the more buggy things to implement as several mods either remove your clothes (CWSS/AN76) or lock you into clothes (DD). It's one of those easier said than done types of features funny enough as I don't have a lot of control over what those mods do and they don't provide a lot of information what they are doing (if they did, then the mod could monitor what they are doing). For different types of clothes, I do want to keep it lore friendly like harnesses for Raiders and suits for Triggermen. In the base game, Tattered Rags seems to be what Super Mutant prisoners get put in. If you want consequences after you are faction assimilated, then I have a mod for you Sexual Harrassment and a lot of your ideas would be appropriate adds for that one. Ha, yep Piper being hostile makes sense especially if you were faction assimilated with The Institute (Ms. Casdin would probably feel the same way). Take care! -louisthird It makes so much sense and it would keep the follower and companion consistent with their varying backgrounds, etc. Guess the main concern I have had is that most companions that I travel with are custom. They have their own custom follower packages, dismissal scripts, and custom dispositions towards the player character. The earlier version of Assimilation caused the followers/companions to no longer respond or not be able to follow me afterwards. I love the mod, kind of wished it would ignore the vanilla and modded companions and only focus on the regular non-follower npcs to react to your assimilation. I figured it would eliminate some script errors or any other issues with other follower mods and or questlines. Oh well.

It's a tough thing. I want Assimilation to "lock" you into a faction clothing style, but other mods want to remove/change the clothing and neither of them know anything about the other one. I am not sure it is a bug as much as a conflict with the mod that will "bound you to a furniture". Which mod is this BTW?

I found the link to Fusion Girl: That's the correct one, right? Yep, that's the one! The super mutant morph works fine for the most part, setting the "triangle" to muscular definitely gives off FEV vibes. I'm also thinking of other body changes, such as breast morphs for example. In FG the breast morphs are titled "boob *morph*", example: Boobs Big is "breast size", and Boobs Mellons is "breast silicone" (um... in CBBE I think that's Breast Melons or something?) Butt morphs are titled Bum, example Bum Chubby = Butt Fatness. Bum Apple I think in CBBE is Apple Cheeks or something like that. I don't want to re-distribute files obviously, but you can grab the ZeX-FusionG.xml file and take a look, it lists all the sliders.
