It's a plugin with a bunch of scripts, no DLL or BSA that would need to be converted, so it should work as is I imagine.

Took my gold, bloody bastard, so I gave him a blade in the chest for free. But my gold was gone, every single Septim. I find this very annoying - in other mods too. You pay someone a fortune, but the gold simply vanishes. Would it be possible to fix that?

Seeker999 Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 I like the idea of a relatively straightforward defeat mod. In the past I have used SL Defeat and Death Alternative. In my current pt I started using DiD and switched to Peril. I'm not sure if it's working as intended. Before I explain my issues/observations, please note that I am using Peril, unconverted, with Special Edition. I have the following follower mods installed: Buttons, Hoth, Kaidan, and Lucien. I am not using any follower framework - Kaidan and Lucien have their own AI packages and don't use the vanilla follower AI at all. If Peril, as I understand it, doesn't complete the defeat scenario until all followers are in bleedout, then I can be stuck while the fighting is ongoing. Even if I heal myself with potions or food, I am frequently unable to move even if I can cast spells or shoot an arrow (which I am frequently not able to do). When the battle is finished, I am likely to be stuck in Defeat limbo. With DiD I could use the safe word to get out of this limbo, but Peril does not have a safe word option. Perhaps it should? BTW, the console commands TAI and enableplayercontrols don't work. I have to go to an earlier save. Am I correct in thinking that I can't surrender without the enemy being in my cross hairs? I have tried to surrender anyway but had no success. I like many features of Peril and look forward to further developments. Thank you.

2Dimm Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 maybe its just my scuffed game, but i noticed that if the player enters bleed out while riding a horse you cant keep playing because you just turn into a ragdoll while still controlling the horse, if the horse dies its fine, and usually its the horse that is targeted, but if the player itself dies and enters bleedout the only solution is reloading

That works in a lot of those situations for me. 1

Potentially, it punishes you for thefts that don't accrue a bounty, by placing you in Zap furniture, which it scatters around towns like PoP does (it's sort of PoP compatbible), and some NPCs (not guards) will administer some rough vigilante justice, then take stolen goods and possibly money, then release you. The punishment process is good, but the way crimes are determined is a bit awkward. There are decay mechanics, a chance of detection, etc., but really, I never wanted a mod to detect more crimes, I want a mod to punish low bounties that were already being applied. It's probably quite easy to patch it to do that, but it's one of those things where I kept expecting PoP to solve that problem. That sounds good. Paying off low level bounties is too easy. So, how about a "criminal scum" attribute. Every time that you earn a bounty, your score increases. It would decay over time. So-called right minded citizens would harass you just because you were scum. Seems like an interesting mechanic.

Sometimes it's important to forward those fixes. However, in this case the only changes are the display names of five locations. Peril-unoff_sse-compat.esp 1

All other defeat mods currently out there like Defeat and SD make things way too complicated - would be a good thing if they actually work consistently. The complex mechanics really aren't very fun when I get dropped in an infinite loop of being killed and getting up and bandits constantly greet me with "Need something?". 1

I'm still finishing up my new load order.

It doesn't have Mesh, textures, BSA, or animations.

If you look at Peril either in the zip file or via a decent mod manager, you'll notice that Peril contains only an esp and some scripts. Thus, CAO and nif-optimizer and such are not usable or useful. So, the only action necessary is to open it in the Creation Kit and then immediately save it. That step might not actually be required; it depends on exactly what types of records the mod contains. However, loading and saving in the CK is easy. (And, personally, I avoid the CK like the plague and prefer to use xEdit/SSEedit wherever possible.)
