IMO, if you select "Wha...what am I doing here?", then "I'll be no one's slave!  Let me out!", it would be appropriate to be gagged while on display.

That's an interesting idea.  Actually, since ZAP is required, that outcome could just use a ZAP gag.

Eagerly awaiting the next installment.

It appears that the "Rubber Doll" option (in SE, at least) is actually triggering another quest instead.  When this option triggers, I get shoved into a cart and wake up in the middle of nowhere with just a slave gag in my mouth.

I think it's being triggered correctly, with SendModEvent("dcur-triggerrubberdoll").  You might ask on the DCL support discussion about what is supposed to happen with that one.

Just tested this - I get the same results when triggering the Rubber Doll quest.

So as Hexbolt8 said, this should be reported to Kimy, as a Slave Gag is definitely not the start of the Rubber Doll quest.

Hey @HexBolt8

I'm in the middle of making a voice pack for your Simple Slavery Plus Plus. I've noticed SlaveAuctioneer does not have a voice type assigned?

I can make another esp to patch a voice type onto it to generate voices, but that won't be compatible for future updates, would it be okay for you to add a voice type to this?

Edit: Here's a couple of different samples: I'd personally suggest NordCommander?

Thanks, I've mentioned it there.

My personal preference is MaleSlyCynical (Belethor's voice).  It's what I imagine from a weasel trying to cajole bidders into offering more for a slave.  Perhaps @jfraser has an opinion?

Are we talking about the guard you talk to to begin the process or the actual auctioneer?

For the guard, any of those would be fine (imo), although the Commander one does the best job with the sample here.

For the auctioneer, I've always kinda heard a faster-talking Proventus in my head. I see him less as a cajoling weasel and more as a prim and proper professional who prides himself on his ability to pontificate (I sincerely apologize for the alliteration - it just kinda happened).

That said, Hex has final say. :)

edit: also, thank you for voicing this.

Proventus uses the MaleCoward voice (which isn't in the example voices above).  That's not a bad voice.  It's also used by Noster Eagle-Eye and a few others.  Perhaps we could get a sample?  Of the samples provided, MaleEvenTonedAccented seems to best fit a prim proper professional pontificator.

Sure.

I've included the following samples for Slavemaster and Auctioneer voice lines:

They're slaves, with little or nothing to say.

Ah okay. Mainly it's the Slavemaster / John Randall and Auctioneer voices then.

They each have one line, I believe. And they're supposed to be emoting, but that has never worked for whatever Skyrim reason.

The original plan was to angle your experience by talking to them - your responses to the never-written conversations would determine how you reacted at the moment you went to the block (submissive, resigned, feisty, angry, etc), affect your selling price, and dynamically increase or decrease the odds of any particular outcome (someone wanted a compliant house slave would not be as likely to buy a slave who is clearly still fighting, for instance).

This was back when SS was going to have its own outcomes, before Slaves of Tamriel changed the mission statement.

Probably commander for Slavemaster/Randall.  Coward best fits a pontificator, though EvenTonedAccented is okay too (within the limits of what the voice generator can do).  Any preferences, @jfraser?

Yeah, unfortunately some voices like coward and slycynical either have highly processed source sounds and/or have limited voice lines to learn from. DanRuta will be releasing some new tools for voice model training in the near future so we could always revisit or change things.

I'm not eager to have to keep changing the mod, but we could go with Coward for the auctioneer voice type, and if the tool later improves, regenerate the voice lines at some later time if you (or someone else) has the desire.

Honestly, and this is a criticism of the current state of the tool and technology, not your efforts, none of the samples sound that good to me.  It's like bad voice acting or dubbing, the kind where a player might decide to turn off voice audio and just read subtitles.  The auctioneer in particular needs special attention to sound right.  His lines should have pauses.  ("Do I hear 600?  [pause]  No?  [pause]  Anyone?  [pause]  Okay then, sold to bidder 5!")  When it all runs together, it's unnatural.  That could be handled with tedious editing, but that's probably outside the scope of what you had in mind, which is understandable.  So you could just generate something now, with coward for auctioneer and commander for slavemaster (unless jfraser has a definite preference for something else), so that players who really want voice can choose to use that, and those who'd rather hold off and wait can do so.

Oh, I should note - I combined a couple of lines to render together for the samples. Realistically in game it would go by however the scene runs and retain any pauses between the lines.

Here's another few samples of EvenTonedAccented and Coward. These are specifically one line each.

Just sharing here if anyone's interested -

I've just uploaded an updated voice pack for SS++ here:

With accompanying voice patch that gives the Auctioneer a voice of 'MaleCoward' and the slave guard 'MaleNordCommander'
