It is not a huge mod and I don't really feel like expanding it with a faction of cocooned skeevers secretly planning to take over Skyrim

Arachnophobia by Miss Leeches

 

This is a very simple (by Leechy standards ^^) mod that tries to organically integrate some of the spider webbing resources from ZaZ-Animation-Pack by mastercchris without which this wouldn't be possible!

 

It is not a huge mod and I don't really feel like expanding it with 10 stages of helplessness' date=' an award winning questline and a faction of cocooned skeevers secretly planning to take over Skyrim ^^ In faaaaact I'll be so happy if I won't have look at any more giant spiders this year ^^

I made it as an attempt to integrate some of mastercchris' amazing resources into the game world in a fun and believable way and I hope I managed to encourage someone to do the same! ^^

 

I probably won't update it lots unless to fix bugs or things like that but if anyone would like to expand on this idea and make something bigger out of it it would be amazing!

 

Description

 

Arachnophobia introduces a new reason to stay away from the spiders of Skyrim and kill them on sight! With fire! From the orbit!

 

Their ranged spit attack has been modified to pose a deadly danger to unwary travellers: it now entangles anyone who was too slow to dodge in a sticky web while a slow but lethal poison saps the victim's strength!

 

Both player and any npcs including followers are vulnerable to this attack and any frostbite spider can do it but the durability of the web and strength of the poison will depend on the strength of the spider: you can expect huuuuuuge spiders to be way more dangerous while the smaller ones probably won't be able to keep large prey for long.

While the victim is struggling helplessly in the web the spiders will leave it alone and let the poison kill it probably turning their attention to any still walking threats or an already dead meal. But although the situation may look grim there is still a chance of escape! The victim can still hope to wiggle free of the bonds before the venom kills it. The more stamina she or he has the easier it will be but it may not be as simple as it sounds while the poison is slowly draining it away and making the struggle more difficult the longer it lasts!

 

Updates

23 December 2012: 1.0 version! Initial release.

23 December 2012: 1.1 version! "Stunlock" prevention. This will add a 10 seconds immunity to webbing after breaking free.

 

Requirements

 

ZaZ-Animation-Pack is absolutely required! It must be properly installed or this mod will not work like it's supposed to! All animations, meshes and textures are contained there!

All resources used by this mod were created by mastercchris. I simply integrated them into the game! All thanks to him and Fore for making such things possible at all!

 

Hey! I'm going to try out this mod now. (Though on a side note, I wanted to point out a matter of semantics. The spiders would attack you with their "venom", not their "poison". If a creature bites you, stings you, or spits at you, or maybe even claws you, that would be when you use, "venom". If you bite it, sniff it, drink it, inhale it, touch it, consume it, smoke it, et al, then that would be when you should use the word, "poison".) Now to download! Thanks! EDIT: OOPS! I see that in the description section, you used both terms. But anyway, I'm still trying to decide which download I should get.

Added a speed multiplier reduction of 100% to the spider spit with the same duration as the webbing effect ( with a 10sec. trailing off of the effect at the end ).

 

Basically the same thing I did for the shackles in Sanguines. This should stop the player from scooting around when webbed and when the player is hitting the movement keys.

 

I haven't had a chance to test it though. Anyone want to be a test subject? :angel:

 

Hummmmmm but aren't restrained and unconscious states supposed to make player and any npcs totally immobile while webbed? (I would have simply used unconscious but I needed to restrain actors for a milisecond before the animation is applied and only after that set them unconscious ^^) In my game it works okay' date=' I cannot even rotate the camera and movement keys don't work.

Problem is that I'm running into spiders all the time. That is until I install your mod LOL.

 

Happens only if sanguine debauchery is installed too

The mod is a slavery type mod you first have to go to the inn in whiterun to meet Sam who will ask you to do a drinking contest when you black out you will wake up in a temple and a item is attached to your nether region. When you are out fighting say bandits and your hp falls below 0 you will fall to your knees with hands bound the weapon in you hand will go flying they will then come over to you and have their way with you they will remove all of your items and put them into their inventory you can find items like weapons to click on to pick up each one will help weaken the bonds or you can just try to steal the key from your master. It has been recently added that any followers with you will also fall down with hands bound and a gag bar placed in their mouth.
 
If you encounter a spriggan and they win they will do the same as the above but after they finish with you they will be done with you because you now have the spriggan body armor on there will be those little green leaf like things flying around you the armor gives you many of the spriggan magic skills and you have to do certain things to get the armor removed as you can't manually remove it any other way.

i really like this mod! problem i have is that in the quest for the golden claw that spider webs me and im caught in the web till i die no matter how hard i struggle with direction keys, jumping and attacking...

Make sure , Your Using the 1.1 Version and not the older versions ?

Nothing happens to the followers at anytime other then when you lose a battle will they be bound if they are with you when you lose your hp/go past 0.

Fantastic Mod Idea

 

Tested out so far with a few suggestions:

 

 

>> Camera should be able to be unlocked for better viewing once webbed. SexAddict for example allows camera freedom.

 

>> Webbed bondage body shows a black cocoon armor? Shouldn't that match a white cocoon color with web texture? The web entanglement looks a bit too transparent for my taste.

 

Rarely my char fell through the floor. Web should me more above the ground or the char should be glued to a wall.

 

>> The spider doesn't attack me even when I'm alone, but should finish the char, once no enemy is left, by delivering a final sting/sucking or whatsoever.

 

An option menu via SkyUI MCM could set a choice of a final death, sucked or impregnated (with a special 'decease' handling). Or different spiders with unique strategies and effects (like deadly dragons).

 

Cell/Quest changes: In certain big caves, an oversized spider queen could replace the giant frostbite spider. One lair should hold a dragon skeleton in a web, just before the ground shakes and the nightmare of a supergiant spider attacks.

 

 

Fighting could be like:

 

Upright Web entanglement (the body stays active but is slowed (carry limit broken, slow time), stamina drained and some web overlays are spawned and torn appart). Lasts only 1-3 seconds.

 

Stamina falling below a limit results in a full entanglement where you struggle to get free, but you can still use shouts or powers as your head is still free.

 

Once the spider reaches you for a final act, your entanglement tightens and the final bite/sting, etc. is delivered.

 

Fire effectiveness should be improved (reasonable weapon against webs) and a flame cloak should help you against getting webbed (not poisoned). Maybe becoming ethereal should protect you too and other magic forces should be considered also.

 

 

But in any case - good job so far.

I really like the post above, for the sake of not cluttering I'll not quote it though.

 

I do like the idea of getting used pretty much for birthing, or something similar, or even death via some neat animation.

When I saw this topic I was like " OMG tell me there's a update or something!!".. unfortunatly there wasn't any :P  It's kinda sad that this mod will never be updated any further...Hope it will ! It was a really good idea to adapt the zaz animations that way !

i got thw arachnophobia mod from here but when i get stuck in webbing it does not look right,

character is still animated normally instead of being animated showing to be bound up. I have the latests zaz ani pack. am i doing something wrong?

Are all other animations from Zaz working as they should? Have you run FNIS?

In other hand, having this installed with skyre gives u the ability of trap your foes with a summoned frost spyder, i love this mod!so useful, sad it hasn't been improved or upgraded

i got thw arachnophobia mod from here but when i get stuck in webbing it does not look right,

character is still animated normally instead of being animated showing to be bound up. I have the latests zaz ani pack. am i doing something wrong?

Are all other animations from Zaz working as they should? Have you run FNIS?

 

I reinstalled FNIS 3 times and it finally worked.

Is it possible to get the item codes for the webbing and cocoon? I see that they are items in the aperal inventory, so I figure they have item codes.

In the console write 'help cocoon' and all the codes will pop up. It sholud be the same case with web.

Hey, anyone here know how to get Sanguine's Debauchery to work? I know this isnt the mod's forum, but I cant ask there.

I did thuroughly read the mod's instructions and requrements.

What file did I have to dowload [exact name please] and where is that file located [link would be prefered]

Any Help would be apreciated.

What do you mean? This is all the Lovers Lab forum and Sanguines Debauchery is not treated any differently unless you are trying to post to one of the older closed threads.

you should add the abillity to be able to burn spider webs or for your companions to be able to set you free burning the spider web

Would be cool to have something similar with draugrs only they mummify you instead.  probably wouldn't be that hard either; just retexture the cocoons with the linen wrap texture.  only problem is, explaining how the draugrs have this power. 

 

Also, does anyone know a mod that turns the spider spit attack into a spell?  might be able to have a spell version of the cocoon thing by just having it above arachnophobia in the load order.
