I assume this mod is not compatible with Prison Overhaul Patched or Deviously Cursed Loot due to their alteration of the Prison & Arrest mechanics?

If so, is there a way to disable the arrest / prison mechanics of your mod (DCL you can but POP you cannot) and just use the addiction stuff or captured by bandits parts?

Well seems like my issue has been pointed out already :P So there's no way to toggle off the experience debuff in the MCM at this moment. 

 

Everything else is absolutely fine, mod works like charm and I really like it, especially the prison part, since every other single mod that add prison fun is bloated with requirements and buggy features or WIP.

 

I don't want to go back to Defeat, what if I disable the effect from running  with a console command? Will that work?

I had gag and restraints addictions working when i tried. It just takes days long exposure to them to get any meaningful increase, like something you might get being captive for a while. Player will sometimes put one on by herself if you're carrying any in inventory, or talk about it to npcs. Milk not tried, alcohol and skooma seemed impossible to get addicted to. Maybe if you have the other skooma addiction mod too.

Toggles have now been added to the MCM to completely disable addictions.

With the way this mod works, I can't add Riekling support without adding the Dragonborn DLC as a master.

I have been using and testing this mod ever since it first got started and it has been my go-to defeat mod ever since 1.05 at least. In my opinion it is the best defeat mod out there.

 

But recently i have been having a problem where this mod in particular just wont load/work in the game. I think at some point i got 1.09 to work but later it stopped for some reason.

 

I think i accidentally opened skyrim using the launcer via steam once and that caused all esp to be enabled, i fixed that and then maybe thats when i started having problems.

I have been testing the mods that i usually have and as far as i can tell all of them work fine exept for DiD.

 

I have 75 active plugins, including official stuff like dlcs and high resolution texture pack. MCM registers 30 menus, it should be 31 if DiD worked.

 

I've re-installed 1.09 multiple times and now i uninstalled 1.09 and installed 1.1 but it makes no difference. This mod worked great earlier but i dont undertand what went wrong with my game.

 

I have gotten a papyrus report but i dont know what to make of it. It's rather large, 622kB. and something like 70-80% are references to DiD.

 

Below in the spoiler are just some quick excerps from various places in the log. Hopefully they are relevant.

 

Also i remember modifying earlier versions slightly with TesVedit, i think i just modified some dialogues or something minor like that, nothing that would break the mod. I put it in a seperate ESP that overwrites. I do these thing sometimes with FONV so i am somewhat used to doing this. I have now deleted this ESP to be 100% sure it does not interfere in any way.

 

I install all mods using vortex and have done so with every single mod i currently use. I have checked manually in the skyrim data folder to see that things got installed correctly and i can see the ESP and all the DiD.pex files in the scrips folder. I dont understand what the issue is.

 

 

Would be thankful to any and all help to fix this problem.

The new update and this enhancement is much appreciated.

 

The front page is clear on what happens once because you are addicted, but the new update notes talk about how "addictive events" increase addiction.

What events do this, for each addiction?


e.g. To get a skooma addiction, do I have to drink skooma (particularly in trauma)? Or can I get a skooma addiction without drinking any? If so, what events cause that?

 

Currently, simply having high time rate (it is time rate, not just arousal yes?) seems to make you addicted to sex, even if you never used it as a trauma relief.

 

For me, the addiction mechanic makes more sense if you are actively going out of your way to get trauma relief, and that has consequences.

When DiD starts loading you with addictions (particularly sex), without trauma present, it's potentially duplicating something that other mods are already attempting to do.

 

Could we get a toggle or some other MCM control so that the addiction can be tuned to only happen if you have trauma > 0 ?

 

Perhaps we could tune a scale value for the chance scale factor for trauma == 0 and trauma > 0 separately, or something?

While it's now very useful that I can now disable sex addiction in DiD completely, it is still a bit of a blunt instrument.

 

 

Some other sliders, or options to toggle would go a long way towards making this mod something that a player can balance for their individual game. I always have this in my LO, but I'm not entirely comfortable with letting it run free. I've had auto-surrender on bleedout disabled for a while now because the length of the post-defeat scenarios are usually longer than I usually have time to deal with in my limited play time. This means if my follower goes down and the situation looks bad, I can surrender manually, either to SD+, or DiD, depending on which I think it going to work best in the location I'm in. Or if I want to push on with my game, I can simply die and reload.

 

Adding a few MCM sliders and exposing some of the internal values seems like it would remove a lot of pressure to perfect other parts of it in ways that - perhaps - can't ever really be made infallible, or given defaults that suit a broad range of games and tastes.

 

 

Optionally, if the player goes into bleedout, give the player a pop-up to choose their outcome - similar to a certain other defat mod, but a little different...

[Surrender]   [Fight On]   [Death]

 

If the player isn't quick enough to respond, they get the Surrender result anyway.

This would let player deal with Bleedout scenarios where they actually killed the enemies already, or where the follower is winning, or other race conditions where the bleedout is recoverable on a manual basis. Also they go to bleedout again within a short time, fire surrender anyway.

 

Also, if the player has SD+ installed and a surrender occurs, the pop-up could let the player choose...

 

[Surrender DiD]  [Surrender SD+]  [Fight On]  [Death]

 

As is, with the bleedout disabled, I can choose how I want to surrender, but I have to pre-empt any likely death scenario by quite a bit for the surrender to happen before I'm burned to death or whatever.

Sounds like a great mod. But debuffs...not a fan. The capture stuff sounds really cool. Getting dragged into a camp and kept as a "toy", or kept by creatures as a "mate" after being Defeated seems like a nice escalation. Be cool if there was a version with just the Defeat/capture feature, minus the trauma/theft/addiction stuff. Although I do worry about compatibility with mods that require/use Defeat.

 

Reiklings were mentioned in a previous post. Personally, I have NO problem with a Dragonborn(or any DLC) requirement. There`s just something about those horny little bastards. Frankly, if it has animations, add it, I say. But I`m not the one doing the work, so, your call(of course). Plus, most of the times I`m Defeated, it`s by choice(farming soulgems or DD stuff), but if it`s a creature that`s not included, I die. ?‍♂️

If DiD could give you some way - a chance, a pop up selection, or some other mechanism - for sending you to SD+, there'd be no practical reason to use Defeat if you had DiD.

 

I know Code Serpent has said that he put off some customisation options because the mod is in flux, and he felt it would be wasted time (or something like that), but...

 

People used 1.9 for quite a while without an update, and the major concerns/requests on the forum were primarily about configuration choices.

 

There are now more options than before, so great progress in the area for users who were asking for more ability to tune the mod behaviour for compatibility.

 

However,  a few more (fundamental) options would make it so that DiD could perhaps be significantly more useful to a wider range of players.

For me, adding a few difficulty options to help tune escape difficulties and capture times would be great to help make my game more fun.

Yet, I have no desire at all to play DiD without trauma, and I don't want to disable addictions if I can avoid doing so.

 

Different people want different things, of course. They even want different levers to pull to make the mod suit their play.

 

 

 

Different options matter to different people, but the common thread here is options.

 

Like a few others, I don't so much want new features as ways to configure the ones that are there.

Anything that can be done in that area would help some group of players.

Ok, thank you for your help Code Serpent.

 

Since i have the arousal redux mod i assume the fact that i dont have any Devious Devices "framework" mod is the problem.

 

I have very bad experiences with getting DD to work and look good. 

 

I will try to skip installing all the resources (items/armors/equippables) for DD and just install the scripts and ESPs, and then i will disable the ESPs.

Update: Updating did not work. I tried having an Orgasm or Boobgasm from the Machine incase that helps but didn´t change anything aswell. Do i need Milk and actually be milked ? I figured its the orgasm that gets you addicted.

This raises some question:

 

1) why didn't whore addiction behaviours fire when I had sex addiction of 100 for most of my game?

2) why isn't it actual sex acts that increase your DiD sex addiction? Then it could work like most other event based addictions, including trauma modification.

3) could you add more ways to start the Unearthly Lover addiction? As chaurus eggs/falmer stuff aren't hugely common. Once you've got some addiction going, glowing mushrooms can also trigger attacks, so it's more likely to be attacked once addicted, but quite unlikely to start that addiction in the first place.

 

With (3) once you get addicted, I think it would be great if you could get tentacle attacks off all plant harvesting, with glowing mushrooms simply a higher chance than normal plants.

 

But it would be great if there was a way to start this without going to a Falmer dungeon.

Realistically, why would you go in a Falmer dungeon with high trauma?

You don't do that much.

 

Adding a small - increased by trauma - chance of tentacle attack from any plant harvest might be a way.

 

FMEA adds this for me anyway, but not everyone uses it, and having it linked to trauma would make it more effective, I think.

 

 

With the tentacle addiction it's different to others, because you can't choose to get raped by tentacles, but you can choose to drink alcohol, skooma, steal things, or possibly even have sex (and again, another reason why actual sex should increase addiction, not arousal - high arousal usually results from not having had sex).

 

What if there were some distinctive looking static chaurus-plant activators added along roadsides here and there, and clicking them was an auto-rape?

Furo-tubs would be perfect for this. I guess this is an easy add-on anyone can make for themselves.

 

 

On a related topic - some other bad/addictive/compulsive behaviours that might help relieve trauma:

 

Brawling - use a dialog option to pick a fight with anyone - winning relieves some trauma - losing relieves more - ask for yokes to prevent yourself from doing it. This could safely become a compulsive behaviour that might happen when you don't want it to. Possibly a gag would also be a good blocker if it can only be triggered when you speak to someone.

 

Murder - simply attack a non-hostile NPC with lethal intent - relieves some trauma - actually kill them for massive trauma relief - ask for serious restraints to prevent yourself from doing it - hand yourself into prison to prevent yourself from doing it (more trauma, oh, the irony). Or simply get bounty for being seen doing it and be sent to prison anyway. Actually finishing the fight after the initial hit would always be a PC choice. (Restraints might be something like hobble-dress+leg-irons+armbinder, or yoke+slave boots, or straightjacket with legs, etc).

 

 

I kind of like the idea of alcoholic, brawling-addicted, kleptomaniac dragonborn.

There are three main reasons I haven't added a lot of configuration options:

Currently, a lot of the mod is hard-coded, and would require me rewriting a lot of it to make things fully configurable, primarily with how defeat and capture works.

Adding options to the MCM is tedious and time-consuming work that I would rather spend on actual features.

I am making plans for a serious back-end rewrite of the mod, as well as adding and expanding many of the features, so any configuration options suggested now would be easier to implement afterwards.

Either you were wearing a chastity belt, a gag, or had low arousal. Chastity belts and gags outright stop whore behaviors, and your arousal determines whether or not you actually start behaving like a whore. Your sex addiction determines how severe or extreme your behavior is.

Because SexLab Aroused already takes care of that. Your time rate increases with every sex act, so time rate acts like an addiction. So, why should I reprogram a system that's already been implemented for me?

I'm not going to make it so random plants out in the wilderness start tentacle attacks. I hate that feature in Cursed Loot, and always have that disabled, and I'm not going to implement it here. If you want, I could add a sort of 'chaurus egg spa' location that you could search out without fear of fighting through falmer.

Milk-pump addiction is supposed to be determined by how many times you've orgasmed during the milking, and how many bottles you produce. So, it can be hard to get addicted to it in the early game. I'll make some adjustments.

I have been thinking about adding Sadism and Masochism, and some other behaviors, in this next big update. I'll try to get a post out detailing what I'm planning tomorrow.
