I'm rather new to Rimworld, and I'm scouring through forums for answers, but finding none.

I am unsure if RJW is working correctly. Do I require a character trait to use RJW with a character?

I saw in a post that I can promote a character as a lead role for the mod, how does that work?

 

A well written guide would answer a million questions.

If the first page of this thread doesn't answer your questions you could always try applying some good old fashioned common sense and basic problem solving skills for basic functionality. As for the more complex aspects...

I don't get the child thing tbh. So from what I understand once they reach age 4 they get sex parts? Well in my case they already got them from birth and I haven't even done anything. I don't know if it is the mod that makes the bits show up on the body that does this and they also don't get a backstory or is this as intended? I thought it'd be like that other mod that gives your children the "colony child" backstory. Thought this one would do it too. Hope I didn't break anything...

Speaking of guides. Most of the important stuff is in the mod menu pages ingame accessible by the options.
Mods that I currently use are (appart from RJW ofcourse):
- RJW race support (with added patches of my own where necessary)

- Rim Nude World (gives your pawns actual sex bits that correspond with this mod)
- RJW Animations (animates the sex actions)

- RJW Milkeable colonists (preggo's give milk with this one)

- Dyspareunia (makes wear and tear possible. Though for some reason this also counts for dick sizes?...)
 

That's about it I think. Everything else are either race addons or object addons and should be loaded after these. Note that some mods may require you to make your own patches here and there that may have mixed results. I managed to make orcs give chemfuel for some reason. Not that I'm complaining! XD

 

 

Edit: Took a good long look again at the front page and the babies not having a background might be intended? I mean it literally just says that they are treated as animals ("they get tamed when born in colony"). So i'm ok I guess...

I understand my comment might sound a bit pathetic, but with 40 other mods activated, I cannot be sure that something is wrong or not when I feel a lack of functionality. Truth be told I wasn't expecting profound enlightenment by asking directly, so I guess my best bet would be to disable every other mod.  Perhaps there is something on the first page I missed.

Having worked in the customer service industry I am keenly aware that many people think that us, or other potential helpers poses a crystal balls or mind reading powers which to use to help you solve your problems, but the fact of the matter is, we don't. If you expect help with a specific problem, you would first have to explain the problem which you have not besides the Hero mode and how that is used is described on the first page of this thread. I should know, I spent some of my valuable time to actually check for you since you seem either unwilling or incapable. Normally I charge 120USD per starting hour for consultation services, but I'll throw this one for free since I am in a relatively good mood after getting to vent my frustration towards you.

Well, you actually did guide me toward solving my issue. I didn't have RJW on the bottom of the mod list. Now the RJW actions are available.

RJW works great. The issue is with Harmony and Hugs and Jecstool and MANY, MANY other modders.

The probable reason why Prepare Carefully is not marked as incompatible since Psychology requires it as a dependency and RJW happens to support Psychology. Prepare Carefully does not break your game with RJW when loaded unless you press the prepare carefully button which you, double-posting dumbass, would know if you had read the first page of this thread. I guess that 4-6 hours you spent wasn't quite enough for that, huh?

can you fix that then? or find a way to keep prisoners downed forever? or make some kind of breeding bench? also i asked on the licentia labs forum but now that your paying attention can you make a way to use the serums on prisoners and animals? only colonists can use them which is pretty limiting

Has anyone experienced the dev console bug with the latest version (basically opening dev console does not do anything at all and throws the error below)? I'm getting very annoyed about this.... Before anyone says it's the fault of any other mod - I have isolated the problem by disabling/enabling just RJW on its own (with all subsequent dependable mods).

Hey, so for some reason, I'm unable to open my right click menu when I have this mod installed. I can draft them and make them attack or arrest, but I can't make them do tasks like chop wood, gather materials, or craft stuff.

Your game build is old. and you really should use HugsLogs.
You also have an error related to drug policy which is usually an issue with adding / removing mods mid game.

thanks mate, i'm hesitant to upgrade because of other mods compatibility - you reckon it will work on 1.1.2654?

and yeah, I have discovered the bug 1 hour into the game (when the entire map was burning due to dry thunderstorm...), although it was throwing other random errors from the beginning. I have literally just applied RJW to my modlist and discovered that none of the functions work as they should as the game progressed :( for example not being able to select a Hero - no button present

RJW is build against the latest game build, if the game build changes and RJW updates you best not have them miss matched.

I dont get the impression insects function as they should? Female insects regulary prostate themselfes (to solicit the eggs getting fertilized i suppose?) but male insects ignore them and getting downed from the postating makes the female insect forget its part of a hive, they wander off and become passive.

 

I also cant get any insect to rape my pawns (offering them via walk into the hive and submit), they generated with the caves, is that the problem im having?

But you skipped over that. My issue is with some mods/devs is how they will decide on a whim to remake their tool, utility, library do a small write up and say good luck.

 

Better yet?! And you might know this one is a particular mod maker/dev that is spoken about with contention and derision that "doesn't like how their mod is being used... wah." like that shithead that did the lost forest. I guess they hated Interspecies Reviewers (異種族レビュアーズ, Ishuzoku Rebyuāzu).

 

On a lighter note. That is a great funny show. On that note and completely unrelated is that all my pawns have seem to have [NL] Facial Animation - WIP on their chests. Going to have to disable it for now. It never seemed to work anyway.

 

Also AnestheticGunMod,  AnestheticTurretMod, 1_1_1_tranquilizer_guns (nades and mortars) are fun again. (Shocker/Taser/Baton not so much.)

 

Prepare Carefully works great with RJW to be honest.

 

P.S. Anyone have all the Dragonian Mods working properly?

That is a mod from an author that hates RWJ, that introduces some kind of succubus race. It hasn't been updated to 1.1 officially, but someone got their hands on the older version and, for the looks of it, it might have been updated on the discord channel (otherwise it would be silly to support it). I am not sure though, i don't use that discord channel.

I run nearly 300 mods, many of which use Harmony lib, Hugslib and JecsTool with only minor issues and none of them relating to them. Seeing as you represent a almost non-existant minority leads me to believe the problem solely lies between the chair and the keyboard.

Isn't related to RJW I've had this happen to me regularly before I installed RJW. Just saving and reloading the save often fixed that. Not sure why it happens either.

RimJobWorld doesn't seems to consider the age range of different race. For example, Dragonian race mod generate pawn with much higher age than normal pawn and the whore price is -100% by age. Is there a way to configure it?
