Is Skyrim Modding slowing down???

Slowing down would just mean from going at light speed to merely super sonic speed.

There are still plenty of great mods coming out both on the Nexus and on LoversLab and many older mods continue to update on a regular basis for every version of Skyrim currently available.

Considering the game will be 7 years old in a few weeks?

Less than two weeks, in fact, Skyrim was released 11/11/11.

As for the OP, I think Skyrim modding has reached a point where pretty much all of the design space allowed by the tools has been mapped out.  It's not exactly easy to think of novel mod ideas these days - everything has basically either been done already, found to be unworkable, or requires too much of a team/effort to realistically be completed.  This doesn't preclude great quest mods and the like from coming out, but there's just not much room for knock-your-socks-off game changing mods any more.

I'm working on a complete weapon overhaul for the base game and dlcs. First thing I want to do is expand on Unique Uniques to replace every named weapon and item in game with new mesh and textures from various artists like Billyro and Favored Soul. I never liked the lazy, uninspired way Beth did that stuff. I mean who wants to go find an ordinary steel sword with a name and/or some shitty enchantment? Not me. I already have permissions from most of the authors and just need to decide what to use where.

The one mod I don't think I've seen is MORE then 18 skill trees. You can MOD existing ones but you can't have more then 18 unless I've really been out of the loop for 3-4 years.

I guess it became less, but don't forget there still are both small and big projects currently developed. Stuff like Beyond Skyrim, Apocrypha, Sywind and a couple of others.

Motivation is a part of it too.

For example, I haven't got the motivation to update my mod as of yet. (I'm also searching for new player models, but that's not relevant to the disclaimer.)

Wouldnt know bout dat cuz it always seemed slow for me but did Skyblivion & Skywind get canceled or sumfin? Been waitin on dem for a while.

I never trust the huge, super ambitious projects unless the people involved are all or mostly proven reliable. And even then I still don't usually trust them.

Never trust a modding team of more than two modders. ? Sadly so much can happen. Trust me, I know about such "happenings" destroying a mod and leaving most of the members frustrated
