There are a few that I would call 'hard requirements' that greatly improve the game at it's core without more than a next-next-finish workload. Probably 15 min tops, including setting up MO2. Stuff like Papyrus Tweaks NG, SSE Display Tweaks, SSE Engine Fixes. There is a nice compilation guide on LL you can follow to your liking. https://www.loverslab.com/topic/200681-skyrim-ae-for-beginners-v-2914-3ba-hdt-smp-hph-wip/ And a quite comprehensive list you can search for keywords if you want something tweaked/fixed/improved https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/wiki/essential_mods/ If you want to go next level with the graphics and additional features like improved combat or idles you can really create something nice. But that does take a lot of time. I'd say get the "hard requirements" and some HD mesh + texture mods, face tweaks and it will go a long way. And are a quick win. Also don't forget to get DD NG to make use of SE's improved capabilities It took some time for me to get SE on the level I like, that vastly superior to anything I had on my long cherished LE modlist. I've never looked back at LE afterwards, to be honest. It's just to old/broken for my liking. Also as a modder the SE CK with the patch linked earlier is leagues better than the slow crashfest LE CK. That on it's own would be worth it for me. Thank you so much for the tips. 20 hours ago, naaitsab said: As for the new room update. Some random ideas popped up: Reveal hidden contents -Get grounded in your new room. The jail door is not only for show Could be used as a fail condition in one of the repeating quests like the delivery or asking to soon to be released from the secure belt. Or just ask Laura if you can be put into some jailtime. -Ask for some 'playtime' in the pillory. Because well, it's again not only for show. -Invite Laura over. You could just have a chat and maybe more, if both agree on it. -Pay for a back door option. Get your own entrance at the outside of the shop that goes straight to the cellar. Spoiler I don't want content like that as a failstate. If anything it should be a reward. I don't want to incentivise messing up just to get what you want. It much more fun to work towards something you want. The problem with the pillory is how boring it can be when you can't do anything. I gotta figure out what kind of 'playtime' is interesting enough. I'm currently working on a small quest for the cell in the shop and it so hard to make that interesting. Inviting someone over could be fun. Not sure it should be the shopkeeper though. The backdoor is a good one. Not having to go through the shop would be great. 19 hours ago, Allen Harris said: I sent him a patch. I saw. Frayed had an interesting idea in the second act of Trappings of Fate. IIRC (and he did this in two different furniture pieces), he modified the default furniture struggle so you had to struggle different parts of your body in different ways to try to escape. And there was a time limit for the second furniture piece. It made the struggle more interesting, and made it take a lot more time. I'm pretty sure it's complicated to do that because you're creating custom menus, but it's an idea for furniture you might consider. Edited December 27, 2024 by Allen Harris

I'm thinking of keeping the development in LE and porting to SE myself like the last update. And maybe moving this thread to an SE page. I know SE is better but people playing the SE port will have those benefits. Unless there are big specific SE benefits for development, I'm gonna stick with the current model. 2

So I'd say that's quite a big improvement on it's own It at least keeps me sane as the times it crashed this year can be counted on 1 hand instead of 2 hands, 2 feet, per hour on the LE CK. Especially if you work a lot with scenes, it takes quite a lot of testing time. Between the game and the CK, as you probably know all to well. Having a CK that loads in 15 seconds instead of multiple minutes and does not crash if look at it wrong, is really great and makes it less of an hassle. 4

Believe it or not, for me the CK hasn't crashed in years. I guess I'm really lucky. I must've installed or changed something when I installed it about 7 years ago but I don't remember what. And loadtimes aren't a big deal because I don't close it during testing. I save the plugin, boot Skyrim to test it and then close skyrim and go straight to work in the CK. 1

Madness I say 😄 I use separate mod profiles for gaming and the CK in MO2, so can't switch while one is active. It does have the benefit of decluttering your workspace and not loading HD meshes/textures does help with it all. So a trade off I guess.

Back when I was messing with SKSE dev, I tried doing it from the game version - but ended up with an if statement a mile long lol. Edited December 28, 2024 by Allen Harris

It went through 3 PCs by now and I always install manually so it's a mess. I run a small amount of mods but it's really bloated. I once installed a loading screen with a mead drinking bear who smacks himself in the head with a sword but I never figured out how to remove it so it's just part of Skyrim now. Skyrim without that stupid bear would feel wrong. 😅 Skyrim is like an old bicycle, constantly breaking down but somehow still going. 4 hours ago, ravendron said: Thanks for considering this. I remember having a conjuration spell that summoned a bear who plays misirlou on a lute. 😂 Good times. 4

Tail6542 Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Good afternoon, I have a problem, the voices of the characters are missing. When I go to the store, the subtitles for the dialogue appear but the voice itself is not there. I have the version of Skyrim 1.5.97, I also downloaded the Fuz Ro D-oh - Silent Voice modification. Please tell me what I need to fix. Because I'm afraid that other mods will also be voiceless.

Fuz Ro D-oh only has the task to slow down the subtitles so that you have enough time to read them. (there is a voicepack somewhere in the thread, but I never bothered) 1

Fuz Ro D-oh має лише завдання уповільнити субтитри, щоб у вас було достатньо часу їх прочитати. (десь у гілці є голосовий пакет, але я ніколи не турбувався) I understand. So, I misread the description of the mode, I thought it provided the ability to voice subtitles.
