For what it's worth, Witcher 3 was actually pretty moddable, even though the community had to create their own tools most of the time.

Hell, I wrote my own private companion mod from scratch because nothing on the Nexus did what I want.

If Cyberpunk maintain that level of openness, I think we can expect some cool stuff - especially when it comes to script mods. Nothing to the extent of Skyrim, but probably still pretty impressive all the same.

My favorite Witcher mod was Doppler...I ended up playing Triss throughout.  Those shoulders and arms were awkward in those conversation cut scenes though.  ?

LOL did you seriously complain and call them asinine for not putting third person in the game and then in the very next sentence say that it probably wouldn't work well at all anyway?

You don't read things properly before responding to them, do you? I specifically said that 3rd person mods wouldn't work very well for the game due to it being made with 1st person mode in mind only, there's a big difference in what i wrote and what you're interpreting.

You ever think maybe the devs felt the same way?

No. They're the ones who made the game from scratch, if they wanted to they could've had any camera mode they wanted. What they did feel probably is that making first person is cheaper and less work to implement because the player character doesn't need to be animated and meshed properly at all times.

Go ahead and build a game <snip>

Why? Why do i have to make a game myself in order to comment on a game's feature? So i also have to make movies in order to say that i didn't like a part in a movie? That's a juvenile logic and you know it.

There is a reason there are so many mods for Skyrim trying(ALL unsuccessful) to fix the third person camera and a reason so few games do both perspectives.

The problem with Skyrim was due to implementation. The fact that mods have come out and fixed and improved the camera system shows that it was always possible to do it if the devs had put time and work into it. But like i said again, most games don't do both perspectives because it's cheaper and less work to just do one or the other, especially 1st person.

I really don't think you've put any thought into being mad about this and you just want to complain like all the other sheep who like to talk instead of think.

Mad? You think i'm mad about Cyberpunk not having a 3rd person view? LMAO dude i don't know how much of it is you're projecting but you're seriously out of water if you think something petty like that makes me mad. No, you're mad about what i wrote. That's very visible given your needlessly aggressive response. I suggest you stop being a defender sheep for CDPR and really put some thought into what you're reading and how best to respond to them.

Just play a male character - in this case you'll have a chance of seeing a couple of boobs in the game (the ones on your female partner).,

Meh, VR porn does it better ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

there are gameplay videos out and professional reviews (not review bombers that go around review bombing every game) already

What the game is, is an AMAZING city and looks beautiful. but its just a set piece

That doesn't sound any different than The Witcher series, Dragon Age or most JRPGs (especially Final Fantasy 12 and 13). The idea that one must be able to interact with everything in a setting is more of a Bethesda Games Studio game conceit than the standard fare in Western RPGs.

And that means? I'm sorry i never really played the Witcher games let alone mod them, so i have little to no clue how moddable it is.

If you want to know how moddable those games are with or without playing them, just look at their Nexus pages or other sites such as ModsDB. There is not a single sex mod to be found.

There are nude mods for the Witcher games but CyberPunk 2077 does not seem to need those,

Yeah i got that. Seems to me that "cinematic" style is the biggest selling point for CDPR games, maybe that's why they close off most modding potential, because they don't like their games being too open for rapid alteration.

Sounds a lot like a mod I have for Batman: Arkham Knight - Allows me to play as any character found in the Playable character models. Example: Harley Quinn has a short DLC - I can play her through the main game with this mod, but as you say Cut-scenes are strange as they all use Batmans voice and when using his tech in-game, many of the graphics are missing from animations. I know it's not exactly the same, but since I've been playing as Batgirl - it's quite a Nice Change!

I found the Witcher's open world a true open world without 'loading screens to enter every building' a breath of fresh air, with more detailed interiors than found in the creation engine. Playing Bethesda's games and constantly knocking over items got old real fast as a 'feature'. Being able to loot in the Witcher without consequence was a bit odd, but I just learned to ignore it.

While many seem to be concerned about Cyberpunk not 'looking as good', my concern is being introduced to a game that will make me consider upgrading my system for the first time in 4+ years to be able to run it at max. Not looking forward to that aspect....     "Shades of Crysis"

It's available on Google Stadia so in theory you can play it on any PC that runs chrome.

This is my point. Got spoiled with my newest system, but experience reminds me of the older days when I was being 'frugal' and was always either behind the curve, or had to run things at lower settings.

It's going to be awhile before we see mods. CDPR hasn't said if they'll make tools available yet, that notwithstanding: the game already features First Person sex scenes. The most requested mod thus far is for 3rd person camera. I expect to see that, and simple texture replacements first.

The engine is the Red Engine, but it's been heavily customized/updated for 2077.

Either way, there's going to be a long stretch of time before we see in depth modding. As I said...expect a 3rd person camera mod first, but don't expect it too quickly. From there, who knows.

I mean, considering the fact there's not a lot to work with, the fact it's a top row game on Nexus says something. It took awhile, and while it won't ever reach "Bethesda" status in respect to modding..I wouldn't outright dismiss it.

I think the 3rd person camera issue is going to be a huge prime mover, in terms of people digging into 2077, tools or not. In many a place, it feels like it's the number one sore spot with folks.

Not very, and most tools will have to crafted "by hand".

Indeed. CDPR has been quite willing to deflect, and the let the issue drop silently when asked about mods, tools, etc. W3 has mods, but it took /awhile/ and truly...if one is expecting Bethesda levels of moddability...you're in for a shock.

My prediction is: small mods that scratch an itch, texture replacements, and a high priority goal of a 3rd person camera mod. (Which in itself depends on a LOT of unknown variables at the moment, and may not even be possible)...

But beyond that, I wouldn't expect too much. Certainly nothing of any real substance in the first 18 months.

CDPR hate modders and moding simple as that

To be fair, it was Nvidia's fault TW3 never got proper modding tools. Doing so would mean releasing proprietary code owned by Nvidia and they wouldn't allow that. The first game had an adventure creation toolset called Djinni but it never took off. No clue about the second game; that's the one I never could get in to.

NVidia has been, and ever shall be, complete and total cunts when it comes to this kind of stuff. They might make great kit, but when it comes to any kind of third party convenience, or consumer convenience...they are just absolute bitch bags.
