Do you mean being forced to take a DF without any specific cause?

 

Right now, you are forced to take one if you have low enough willpower. Potentially, STA or SLS spanks could make your willpower low enough for that to happen.

That will work right now, no changes to anything. A guard will bind you and follow you until you identify your "master", who then becomes your DF with some debt added (not actually enslaved).

If you want to make that harsher, set minimum contract to 30 days or something. With the "boredom" defaults, chances are you'll get into serious trouble before that 30 days is up.

 

 

In what circumstances would people want a DF to choose them, rather than the reverse?

 

Another thing you can do with DF (probably nobody uses it like this though) - set the daily rate really low, and disable boredom, then set minimum contract to 180 or so. Now when you get a follower, you can't get rid of them, but they aren't draining all your money. They will help you deal with devices, and sometimes they might play a game with you (but even that's fairly unlikely unless you trash your willpower). Really just a follower you can't get rid of.

Oh I meant I thought you were planning on adding a generic type follower to each city. Then SLS could auto load them as possible followers to be force assigned considering in vanilla not many towns actually have an 'escort' available.

Posted a question earlier but you never really answered it.  Didn't know if you had missed it or were too busy answering other people's questions.  Was wondering if in a future update you might add some more sounds when your character got stripped from the various events of this mod?  For example when your character had their worn clothing/armor confiscated by an enforcer it could play a clothes ripping or armor breaking sound "depending on what you were wearing".  What do you guys think?  Would that be another cool feature you would want added or would it be better without any?  I know your busy, was jc.

Oh. Right. Yes. I am.

 

What I intend to do before I start on a SLAX update is to make a little patch mod that disables the vanilla hirelings (as they seem to be a pain point) and adds stand ins with similar sounding names and identical appearances. Plus I'll add Dotti and Lotte in there, who have custom faces (but that's about it in terms of specialness). They cover Markarth and Winterhold.

 

New "hirelings" will have a topic: "I need your help. I'll pay you to follow me." They won't have any special hireling behavior because DF does that anyway.

When the faction for them is made, I'll let you know what it is called and its ID.

 

Note that 2.08 is up and you can now detect DF without any dependency. I hope!

There's probably going to be a 2.09 update before I start on SLAX too, with some more trivial bug fixes.

So if you can check that 2.08 does what you want before that, would be cool.

 

With that plan, where are we still missing an escort?

Doesn't excite me personally. The existing rip sound sound is a bit weird and I prefer not to hear it.

If a guard or enforcer demands your clothes, presumably you remove them normally and they don't make a sound anyway?

The items are not all ripped up when you retrieve them.

"Get naked bitch" or something.

"Take them off bitch" ?

 

I know Monoman loves making those words for different voices more than anything... :) 

Though I'd have expected enforcers to all use one voice type.

I have a problem with the mod, when I enter Whiterun a guard comes to me and warns me for example because of my armor.

Then the guard turns around, takes a few steps and comes straight back to me and warns me again.

Or a second guard comes to me and warns me about the same or another offence.

So I have no chance at all to react to the warnings and end up directly in the kennel or get a punishment imposed.

Is that correct?

 

Then I wanted to ask if you can make your mod a bit more neutral in the dialogues of the guards, so that you can better use the mod "Diverse Guards Skyrim".

At the moment these dialogues are designed exclusively for male guards.

Or is it not wanted by you at all, that in a Skyrim, which you create with SL Survival, women can be watched? Then I would uninstall various guards.

Perhaps stick a sex is male check on all their dialogs?

Might take a while.

 

Then create female ones that are "SLS lore friendly" (that's my new phrase, learn to love it).

I don't think it'd fit tbh. If there's a massive ripping sound like in Milk addict or MWA but then you get your stuff back and it's fine would seem really odd to me. I could possibly have MWA destroy your body slot item but that seems really over the top even for SLS.

Sounds good but I have a little reservation. Will these guys use vannila follower factions - PotentialFollowerFaction?

Might not work with the existing system (in SLS at least) if not.

No. You should only get approached when wearing armor in the head/hands/feet/body slots. Try:

Disable the option in the Mcm. Exit the menu and wait 2/3 seconds. Go back in and turn it on again. 

If that doesn't work try 'Player.UnequipAll' in the console. There might be something odd equipped that the mod is picking up on.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. If Diverse Guards aren't giving you voiced misogynistic SLS comments it's because they use a different voice type. SLS has voiced guard comments for MaleGuard, NordMaleCommander and FemaleNord. This covers all (I think) vanilla guards. I can't really justify spending more time adding more voice types when the number of people that would experience them is probably going to be very low and because it takes SO much time. I don't have any guards in my game that don't have those voice types so I wouldn't hear them either. If it's just that you like female guards (and I do too) then maybe try Legionettes. It adds FemaleNord type guards to whiterun etc which do have nice dialogue lines.

Great suggestions. But if it's for voiced comments I kind of have to work from the source material to what I can create rather than coming up with what I actually want to have them say and then try and create it.

I was just trying to convey a flavor: judgemental, condescending, disgusted, and with just a little trace of well concealed envy.

In other news. I've managed to create a manual cover key that seems fairly reliable. The basic idea is that if you're naked you can 'cover yourself' by pressing a hotkey if you're hands aren't bound etc. Then I'm thinking that if you are naked and you're not covering yourself when you are:

1. Cat called or

2. Spanked 

Then the amount of DFC resistance deducted is multiplied by, oh I dunno 5 lets say. This would give you a reason to try and cover yourself. 

 

The only problem with this is that the mechanism used to detect whether or not you're covering yourself is kind of 'stateful' and can't be just detected at any one instance - There's no way to know for sure that the cover animation is still playing. That said I seem to have caught most of the vanilla things that will interrupt the animation:

Sprinting, jumping, falling, swimming, drawing weapons, rag dolling, shouting, getting staggered and of course sex. 

 

I could also add a light exhibitionist thing maybe. Increase exhibitionist trait while naked. Increase exhibitionist trait x 5 if not covering yourself. Then maybe if you're an exhibitionist you can no longer cover yourself or something. But I don't know about this one yet. Might not be worth it. 

 

Edit: Oh and I can't seem to get her to uncover herself if the key is pressed again. 

I've tried Debug.SendAnimationEvent IdleStop and PlayIdle IdleStop but doesn't seem to work. Anyone know anything about this?

That would be very welcome. The cover animation in DCUR isn't very reliable and you don't always want it to trigger just because you take off your shirt. For me it always triggers in the LAL cell and then it seems to stop working at some point. Maybe I have another mod overriding it.

 

Regarding cover detection, maybe you could apply a spell to the player tied to the animation key? But you would need a very reliable and fast way to remove it, because the last thing you want is for the spell to linger on the character when you're not covering yourself. I don't think having a script running to check it all the time is a good idea. Those are the kind of scripts that tend to cause stutter when there are too many working at once.

 

The exhibitionist trait idea sounds script heavy and I personally don't think it's worth it for such a small feature. The mod is pretty script heavy already isn't it?

An example:
A guard is warning me about my armor.
My character's response is then "Yes, sir" or "How about I polish your sword instead?"
And those answers come regardless of whether the guard is female or male.
It seems to me they're designed primarily for male guards.
I may be wrong, since narrow is not my first language.

It's not running all the time. It's 100% event based at the moment. No script polling. Plus the entire quest is shut off completely when you're not naked. Efficiency is always one of my concerns within the scope of what needs to be done.

There's actually very little script polling in SLS. Toll evasion is probably the worst and again that's shut off when not needed. But I can't think of anything else in SLS that uses script polling that isn't short term.

Is it? Why do you think that? Because of the number of scripts? That's not a very good indication of 'script heaviness'. I've said this before but I'm pretty sure I could write a single small script to bring your papyrus vm to it's knees.

Nevermind. Got it. For the record:

Debug.SendAnimationEvent(PlayerRef, "IdleForceDefaultState")

Does the job. It's not exactly smooth but whatever.

2 when naked and is covering

1 in any other state.

Cover is completely unusable for me, as it breaks every override animation and regular animation I would rather see than cover, and in some cases the incoherent state that results for the behavior seems to cause CTD too.

 

Things like crawling, surrendering, carrying my basket, eating, washing, all seem to be smashed by the stupid cover animation.

The stiff arms held out in an awkward position to match a character with breasts about 100 times the size of mine also look kind of strange and rigid. I'm not a fan of that animation, either visually (looks awkward) or technically.

 

Gameplay wise, it all sounds interesting, but I fear I won't be able to use any of it.

I had a little problem with enforcers.

 

Weapon + bikini license, magic license disabled, not enough mana to cast anything useful.

 

The enforcer in Riverwood complained I was trying to smuggle contraband on my follower.

My follower has real armor, not a bikini, so maybe they meant that.

They didn't remove it though.

With those traces in, my game reacts rather slowly to things anyway :)

No idea about this. I did test Defeat surrender there while covering and it played the surrender animation fine. 

SLS doesn't detect that the cover animation stopped though because of course 'IdleSurrender' is not a registerable animation :S

But that doesn't matter a whole lot in the case of defeat since sex is pretty much guaranteed soon after.

It's a manual key anyway. But I assume you're talking about the increased resistance loss. I'll see if it can be done.

The trace from the modified STA script? You can revert back to vanilla if you wish since we found out what the problem was ;)
