But, there is a but. While If I apply the DD on my main character, I get 100% effectiveness (locking and animations), I have had some mix results on applying on female NPCs. I know there are quite many parameters in play, but no matter what the modlist I am using, I end up always with some head scratching. 

 

For instance, if I have Diary of Mine, I always have a failure on applying 90% of the DD for the locking behavior. I have tried using some utilities to "add gear" to the NPC, wth very mixed results. The dialogue with the NPC to "I decide what you wear" would fail as well.

 

So, I have been wondering if there is a patch out there that would guarantee the "locking" behavior of DD --or if there are some parameters to change?.

 

I want to repeat the issue, I apply the "shacker" for instance, and the NPC is still and while the item appears to be "equipped" is actually not visible. I give you an example of a very successful patch released for this goal - Ostim path for DD. Once the patch was released, OStim standalone animations do respect the DD locking status.

 

If anyone has had the same issue and/or a solution, please let me know.

If you're using DD NG, it's better to ask on that thread. They have made significant changes to the mod at this point as part of improving it, and things don't work entirely the same way anymore.

 

No idea what you mean by effectiveness, but applying devices to NPCs is a crapshot for DD SE. Some behaviors can't be changed without breaking NPCs, so you will see inconsistencies where they're wearing something but don't have the animation, or they'll talk even when gagged. This was allowed to prevent vanilla quests from breaking.

If you mean that they aren't wearing something when you give them an item, npcs will prefer to use the 'better' armor in their inventory rather than the 'clothing' DDs (ie not their preferred armor type). to get the npc to actually wear the device, you need to take away the armor in their inventory for that slot.

 

There is a mod that tries to improve NPC behavior with DDs but I don't know how well it works (others say it works well) or if it works with DD NG.

Thank you for the feedback. I gave a quick check on the suggested patch/add-on, but the last update is around 3 years ago. I am not sure if it is going to solve the issue or if it is going to be partially incompatible with the latest code.

I'm not sure the translation is adequate here for me to understand what you mean, but i'll give it a shot...

 

If your weight is returning to normal when equipping a devices, that's usually an indication the bodyslides weren't built correctly.

Double check your output path in bodyslide, and make sure 'build morphs' is checked in the bottom right. the output path needs to point to the 'data' folder in your skyrim se path.

 

The devices not showing up can also be a bodyslide issue, but if you are using DD NG too, it can also be an indication that the device hider is hiding whatever item is in the body slot.

If rebuilding the bodyslides doesn't help, then you might try turning off all the options in the two 'devices underneath' tabs in the DD MCM.

FWIW, (and I know we've touched on this in the DD NG and DOM threads), DDs seem to work fine with followers, both DD SE and DD NG, when applied by mods such as Defeat, Sexy Adventures, DEC, Devious Interests etc and their locked/unlocked behaviour is not a problem - eg either for the PC or when using, say, Devious Device helpers for follower assistance, the follower will remove the item if you, or he/she has a key in inventory, and the follower refuses to remove them if there is not a key available from those sources.  (...and as you know, they worked fine with DOM 5 but later versions seem to be 'iffy' (latest DOM 7.9.5, at least, doesn't play nice with DD NG) 

 

Context here?  I use 'Better NPC Support for Devious Devices' in every game I play ... Maybe I should remove that and see if it fixes the DOM issue, but I have my doubts it will make any difference  

 

Hope that adds something to the cauldron of current weirdness 🙂

Well, then "creating" the clothing with the Bodyslide tool did NOT work.

There are several possible reasons for this:

- the output path for the "created" clothing is incorrect and needs to be corrected accordingly.

- the "creation" was never performed by the user.

- the "creation" failed - quite often because the Bodyslide program is not working correctly -> it cannot find the sources for "meshes" and "textures" (input paths!).

 

Countless other mod users have also encountered the same error... always because they misused something or didn't perform it at all!

question, every time I try to download this and get it working I can never get the plugins to show up. Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong I'm bery basic to modding knowledge, thanks

Just guessing, as you don't tell us much.

 

In case you're using Vortex as a mod manager, it would tell you about "missing masters" - when you haven't downloaded everything you need (and that's a lot to get running before you even think about downloading DDs) it would start without activating this mod.

 

Again with Vortex, even if you did everything right: this mod comes with 4 esp's, which that silly program can't handle on its own. There should be another message, and you have to enable the esps manually.

 

When you're using MO2 as mod manager, someone else might tell you where to look, if you haven't used any mod manager... Well, you should. Really.

 

Aaaand, just in case: if you're on AE, you still need to get DD NG on top of this.

I use Nether's Follower Framework,and when my follower's arms are bound,her  cloth will disappear when I load the game or change map.I have to reset her cloth whenever this happens.I also have DDNG and Unforgiving Devices,there is a option to prevent npc's outfit remove when bound in Unforgiving Devices,but it doesn't work.

There is only one answer here. If your plug is on the ground, something is wrong with your HDT SMP. Also, CBPC is not a substitute for HDT SMP.

If you have DD NG, then you should be asking over there.


DD NG did something where this tends to happen with device hider. disabling device hider by setting all the options in the two 'devices underneath' pages of the DD MCM should make it so the the outfits on the body will show.

hhh thanks a lot it worked, but i seem to have trouble with the pet suit, my character is still standing upright even though i have the suit on. even though i have them built in specific bodyslide. It looks like this :<<

If you are using DD NG, you need OAR installed.

If you aren't, then make sure you ran FNIS or Pandora. Nemesis doesn't work well with DD, which is why DD NG and OAR are recommended.

I have a problem. Integration does not work for me. While I can load Assets and continue playing without problems, if I load Integration, the very second I load a save the game crashes, and if I try to start a new game it doesn't even start to begin with. Naturally, any mod that requires full DD support cannot work because of it, and while there are some LL mods that don't have DD requirement, the mod I want to play (Slaverun Reloaded 4.+) has ample need for it. I have the 1.6.1170 version of the game, and while I don't use 166b version of Sexlab(I use 166), I haven't had any issues with playing the game thus far.

It won't work with Skyrim 1.6.1170 either - because you also need "DD NG"... this will "update" ESM from DD (by overwriting).

And of course, OAR must also be installed - see the above post.

But doesn't NG require Assets, Integration and Expansion active to work? Because if it does, then it won't matter if I install it, since I won't be able to use it anyways because Integration crashes the save and doesn't even allow a new game.
Also, why is my response in your post in German? While I do know it, I haven't used it in decades, so it's beyond impossible that I wrote it.

When you head over to DD NG, you'll get 4 new esp's that overwrite the esps of this mod. Loading only one esp is prone to crash your game, you need at least three. (a,e,i)

Because Miauzi uses some auto translate tool, they don't speak a word english (at least not enough to participate in this forum) - be glad it's not chinese or some other illegible language - und eine gute Gelegenheit, deine Deutschkenntnisse aufzufrischen... Ooops.

When I quote a text, unfortunately, it doesn't display the original English text -> instead, it displays the German translation.

I translate my reply separately using Google Translate and then insert this text (in English) into my post. Of course, I don't translate the quoted text (to which I'm replying). Duplicate translations, especially when different programs are used, often have very "interesting differences."

The assets are essentially provided by the "old" DD - but the new NG also contains a few additional assets (e.g. "Boxbinder")
