Make sure your helmet is using the proper slots (30, 31, 41 or 42)

If it's 41, change what slot device hider uses, or disable it.

 

If you still have a problem after that, please ask on the Devious Devices NG thread. DD NG is reworking the device hider, and it could be related to that.

I am having the exact same issue using the lastest AE version (1130) on steam. I just downloaded DD yesterday from this post but I do not see any option to choose dll version, may I ask how to get the DD 5.2 AIO or the lastest dll version?

You can try a mod that shows slots in the inventory, such as this:

Or you can look in outfit studio or the esp. 
 

In Outfit Studio (part of bodyslide)

For the esp, you would use xedit and check the armor addon (4 examples here of different slots used by helmets):

Hi, I'm playing this w/ Dev. Followers Cont. and I've run into an issue with the gang rape. Certain items that are part of deals - plugs and chastity belt, are removed at the start of the rape - they shouldn't be.

The weird thing with the plug, is that in my inventory screen I show the plug is still equipped. image.png.886db4dfdc249f4201bd728a8b2ce11e.png

However, when I open the console and check my equipment, no plug. Sorry, but I didn't check the inventory and console when it happened with the chastity belt (and I no longer have it to test), so that might be a different issue. It is consistently happening with the plug.

When the gangrape is over, equipment is as it should be. Currently, I disable DFC when I see the notice that someone is following me. Doesn't help with other situations, but at least

 

I'm on SSE 1.6.640 and skse 2.2.3.  Devious Devices v. 5.2, Devious Followers Framework v0.3.0, Devious Followers Framework v0.3.0

 

While not game-breaking it is annoying, if I get debt I want it to be because of something I've done ?, but I thought you should know. I read earlier that you changed the plugs for 5.2 so that they could be removed for sex if you don't have a belt. However, since this change does mess w/ my DFC deals, is there any way to adjust it so that lockable plugs don't get removed? If it's something that can be done in Xedit just tell me how and I'll make a patch for myself, whether it's just to DD or if it s/b a DD-DFC patch.

 

Oh, and my restrictive gloves are unquipped when I sleep (I use Naked Dungeon's sleep naked option). I have hands toggled to not strip in Sexlab.

Neither the plug nor the gloves show up in the sexlab inventory screen to be able to toggle them 'never remove'.

Both, when I check the console, have the 'sexlabnostrip' keyword

 

I'm attaching my papyrus log and load order. I have hundreds of hours on this pt, so overall things have been pretty stable.

follower is wearing chasity belt and a soulgem inside them. When I use the spell to make them drip, flood etc... nothing happens.

I  don't think you're supposed to leak while plugged. Does it work if there's no plug and/or chastity belt?

Yes, you pick *any* DLL - none of the choices  in the installer will work out of the box with 1.6.1130. 1.6.640 is as good as any other choice.

 

Then to fix the DLL issue with 1.6.1130 you will do ONE of these options (ALL of which existed prior to 1.6.1130, so none are 'new'. Thus "no new files"):

1. Install Devious Devices NG. It will overwrite DD, including DD's DLL. It's DLL works with all versions of the game.

2. Go to the troubleshooting post. Pick one of the alternate DLLs under the DD 5.2 spoiler. You will install that as a separate mod overwriting DD, or simply swap out the DLLs.

3. Go to the troubleshooting post. Install the script fix for the script errors under the DD 5.2 spoiler. This removes the need for the DLL entirely. Delete or hide it from DD's files.

 

Alright, I wanted to give an update on this advice regarding the issues I am currently facing.

 

I have recently resinstalled the game, which means forced 1.6.1130. So far, Devious Devices has been the major roadblock in getting the game to run.

 

At first, I got the .DLL error. So I installed DD NG (option 1). But that stopped me from continuing the game or starting a new one: instant CTD, no error message. I removed all the mods I added after that, and it persisted. Only when I removed DD could I get to character creation (I use LAL + RaceMenu).

 

So, I tried option 2 and unchecked DD NG from my modlist. I tried the .DLL from the 01 Base AE dll and 01 Base AE dll new folders in the archive, and I kept getting the error message when starting SKSE. The only one that did not crash was the one located in 01 Base SE dll - but now I get a CTD as soon as I try to exist character creation.

 

I'm at my wit's end I must say. Is it likely for an update to occur in the near future for this compatibility issue? I don't have anything against using Devious Devices NG, but it makes the game crash even faster...I want to add that my installation was working before that, I got Sexlab to work, it's only when I started adding Devious Devices that the real problems started (and yes, I batch built in Bodyslide and ran FNIS - although I doubt forgetting this would cause instant CTD as I experienced).

You might check with DFC and see if it was updated. On nomkaz's conversion, it looks like the description at least only mentions up to DD 5.1 as a maybe. While there is backwards compatibility, some things don't work the way they used to, like the plugs. Or you might try Devious Followers Redux. Ponzi works on both DD NG and DFR, so for bugs with either, there's a better chance of them getting fixed quickly.

 

Is it just one plug, or are both holes plugged? I think there was something with both plugs, but I don't think there was a fix. You might try DD NG, which is where a lot of  the SE/AE rework (bug fixes, improvements) is getting done.

 

For the gloves, are you clicking show all inventory items in the Sexlab MCM? I usually need to do that to set no strip on items. I don't use Naked Dungeon, so I don't know how well it works with DD 5.2. But given it's linking to an old version of DD's AIO, that might be pre 5.0, so it might also need an update.

 

For what I can recommend:

 

You've got a lot of errors related to device hider. While these don't quite match the log spam message called out on the troubleshooting post, I'd still recommend using on of the NG DLLs linked on that post, or again, going to DD NG.

 

You've got some onkeydown errors as well, which is something fixed in DD NG if it's firing when the console is open. I can't tell that from the logs. 

 

As for the discrepancy between is it equipped or not, I've never checked mid event. My best assumption is that the rendered device is removed, but not the inventory device, then it is reequipped at the end of the scene. I do see an error checking on if the plug should be removed or not, but I'm not sure how to fix it. The iron pear plug does have the zad_DeviousPlugAnal keyword, and does NOT have the zad_PermitAnal keyword, so I would expect it to not be removed if the function worked. 

 

Is anything currently overwriting DD? Any old patches, script or otherwise that aren't from the DD installer?

Have you tried unchecking any of the animation options in the DD MCM?

None of the DLLs included in the installer work with 1.6.1130. That's why I specifically said replace with the NG DLL from the troubleshooting post. Pictures of what I mean: 

 

If your game is crashing instantly with DD NG, look at your crash log. I can guarantee it's some other mod doing it. The usual culprit currently is consoleutils. You need the NG version of that, the original has not been updated for 1.6.1130.

 

If you're still crashing after installing NG, post a crash log. Trainwreck should work. 

 

No, there's unlikely to be an update to the main post. Especially since we expect another update in the near future to fix what Bethesda fucked up with this update. I don't have the ability to update it anyway, which is why I stick everything on the troubleshooting post.

What version of consoleutil do you have? You need the correct version of ConsoleUtil NG for your 1130.

 

That usually is the main source of all crashes for 1130.

@Seeker999  I checked with some other folks, and got a bit more. There are a ton of problems in your log, and I'm not going to get into all of them. But I'd say your game is not as stable as you think, or that save is about to die completely. 

 

As far as DD goes, and starting with that plug might be bugged, try:

 

1. Go into a small room. Make sure you don't have anything going on from any other mods that depend on DD. Stop all of your deals, make sure no one is about to jump you for sex, etc. Then make a new save, and after saving try to stop all DD quests from the MCM. Then save again, and exit the game and restart and see if things start working. If something breaks, revert to the save before stopping the quests.

 

2. If stopping quests didn't work, see if you still have that plug in your inventory. If it's not equipped, drop it. Put all of your other items in a barrel or something, then check your inventory AND equipment using the console. More informative console is a good mod for this, because you can select your character and browse through both visually. For each device there are two items, a rendered that shows up on you and an inventory item. if you only have one, then you've got to remove the other before the device will work properly. If you have the rendered and not the inventory, use the console to remove it. 

 

3. It might be related to sexlab not returning the correct actor. You can try resetting sexlab and see if that fixes some of your issues. Also, it seems like you might have something overwriting sexlab improperly, or was added after you started your save. If something is overwriting sexlab, remove it and if possible revert to a save before it was added. Reset sexlab again after that. 

 

4. Since it looks like this save is dying given all the stack traces from various mods in the papyrus log, Are you able to reproduce the issue on a brand new game (click "New Game" from the start menu and create a new character)? If it's not reproducible, it might be time to abandon that one. You could try cleaning the save, but that might also make it unloadable at this point.

Indeed, it was ConsoleUtilSSE. For some reason I went too fast when I installed those and NG ended up being loaded before the default version.

And thanks for the crashlogger, I bet it will come in handy.

Yeah, I know there's a lot of stuff going on in the papyrus log - not that I really understand it. I'm about 1100 hours in and rarely CTD, so I consider that stable for Skyrim!

Yeah, that sounds stable for skyrim, but also well past the normal lifetime of a long running save with mods. Good luck, hopefully something will stick!

any way to fix the negative carry weight overencumbered bug (can't move with certain devices equipped) without having to go into first person and move back to third?

Vortex keeps telling me Devious Devices - Equip depends on Devious Devices- Expansion.esm and Devious Devices - Integration.esm

 

I tried playing around with the big 1.8 gig Mega installation but no matter what I do I can't get vortex to recognize these files. I've also tried browsing all sorts of threads but nobody seems to have my exact issue, much less an answer. What am I doing wrong? Thanks :)
