I have not tested it because I do not need it, but you can try.

They way I infer the system works is that each code refers to a the game addid, depot and version token, and together change different files section of the game, all three do the complete patch to the core file only.  No distributable or extra languages

download_depot  = console command

SkyrimSE/AE is appid = 489830.

depots to get the files in the 1 spoilers

token to get the version in the 2nd. Actually, the second spoiler is all you need.

Spoiler

Depot description

489831 Skyrim Special Edition disk 6.98 GiB 4.55 GiB
489832 Skyrim Special Edition core 7.98 GiB 7.09 GiB
489833 Skyrim Special Edition exe 35.19 MiB 9.85 MiB

My guess is that you need 1.6.640.8 code (likely all three to roll back the file changes to game, but do not know).

First, type this into your browser to access Steam Console: steam://nav/console

After, There are a few commands you need to run. Just paste them into the console, it will take a few minutes to download.

Remember to configure Steam to not update Skyrim automatically.  If it starts to update after rollback, cancel it. If cancelled, it should be listed as "unscheduled" in the download section.

Hey, I'm having a problem where if I do COC qasmoke on launch, all of the items work fine, but if I load a pre-existing save, the items don't show up in-game at all; completely invisible with no prompt. Does anyone know how one would fix this?

How are these “items” supposed to come into the normal game?

I'm using a mod to spawn the items into the game. In the new game (started via coc qasmoke) Devious Devices works and even shows up in the MCM list. However, in a pre-existing save, it just doesn't show up at all.

You don't "start" a game... by executing a console command ("coc") to change the "space cell"!

But only by “restarting” or “loading” a save game.

Do you have “Devious Devices” installed in the SE version?

Then you should start a NEW game... that also means -> create a new character. In this context, this mod is initialized... and then the MCM for it also appears.

And just like that, it works all of a sudden. Loaded a random save and it just started working with no issues. Weird.

Und plötzlich klappt es. Habe einen zufälligen Speicherstand geladen und es hat einfach angefangen, ohne Probleme zu funktionieren. Seltsam.

There's actually nothing strange about that... the longer you've played for a save game - the higher the probability that the initialization of newly installed mods will fail - especially those as extensive as "SexLab" or "Devious Devices".

That's why there is the "Golden Rule" when using mods -> always start a new game - this avoids problems like the ones you have experienced.

God I wish they'd stop updating skyrim if its just creation club shit. I seem to be getting CTD's around 5~ seconds into a new character for testing, made a new modding profile and didn't get any crashes until I got to DD. I've tried installing that DD NG mod but it hasn't stopped the crashing.

Yeah, give the dev time. Honestly I fucking hate bethesda. Can't they just let this decade old game fucking rot in the corner of their utility closet? Why the fuck does it need updates?

Cause in an interview earlier this year, Toddy said he expects the lifetime of their games should be around 20 years. That gives him another 8 years to try to milk Skyrim :D

You can disable automatic Steam updates. If only place you start Skyrim from is Mod Organizer or Vortex for example then it will never update unless you want it to. And only do that after you ensure that SKSE and other core dll's are up to date.

Steam managed to bypass a lot of the methods used to stop updates

I have some slaves wearing devices using Paradise Halls and Paradise Halls Home Sweet Home.

The problem is that when they are turning their arms go in normal idle position, but only when they are turning. Everything ok if they move in a straight line.

The update actually did contain some nice backend improvements.  I hold Valve much more responsible than Bathesda; the only reason these updates are a problem is because there aren't any non-MacGyver ways to prevent Steam from auto-updating or to rollback to older versions.  If Steam allowed users convenient control over what version of the game they run, then these updates would be strictly positive from Bathesda.  I've honestly considered re-buying Skyrim through GoG after this update, as my understanding is that platform does give users exactly such control.

Anyone know if I can make a copy of any of the items and make em a different color in the files? if so can I just change the textures or is there more than just doing that?

Use one of the 3 workarounds in that post. I have no plans to fix this as it's already working with stuff on the troubleshooting post. That's where patches go, so always look there.

Do you have consoleutils enabled? try without that. I have a theory that DD NG and consoleutils have some odd issue on 1130 together.

Also, since you're using DD NG, please post on that thread as it changes quite a few things. If you have a crash log, that would help ihmk, ponzi and krzp, so post that too.

Try DD NG. or try a the mod that improves NPC usage of DDs. Otherwise there's not much to be done about it.

I think the NPC one is this:

you can create a copy of the device and either change the texture it's point to or add an alternate texture for it to use. It's best to copy a device into a new esp so you don't loose the changes next time there's an update or you need to reinstall for some reason.

take a look at the different color devices in DDx to get an idea on how to do it. just remember each device is really two pieces, so you'd need to do it twice if you want it to show up right in inventory.

Easy)

Run steam in offline mode.  In this mode you can't install or update any programs.  Also if game runs without latest update (Example Re3 Remake revert back old dx usage), so if you start game it will update to latest dx and disable all mods. But if you start steam in offline mode it starts game with old dx as steam can't update to latest version. So for Skyrim if you even by mistake start without mod manager it will not update to latest version.

Minus. Some game needs online mode to work, so need switch steam mode. Also you can't install new game or buy it.

And sometimes after then you need stop game update as it remember, that you start it in offline mode. Not about Skyrim - it always not updates even if you hit by accident start Skyrim without mod manager.

That's not really a non-MacGyver solution.  And it's not a great solution in general; I use Steam for more things than just Skyrim, including while playing Skyrim.  A better MacGyver solution is this, but while that works as an individual solution, it's not a mass solution—knowing you can do this is never going to be able to prevent the chaos in the scene each time there's an update.

Maybe this, doesn't beglong here but anyways. I looked for my crashlog and it said something about Devious.dll. So i installed that Devious NG Patch. Still CTD

Then I noticed that everytime i get this installation done Messages (the large messages at the center of the Screen) it Crashed. For example i disabled SR_fillmeup.esp.

And it worked. Does anybody have an idea what might be the problem?

Oh really? I have Steam online everytime my PC is on, and Skyrim is still SE 1.5.97. Automatic updates are turned off and version file is readonly. But even if it was not readonly, all my games are set to "update when i play". And if i don't start Skyrim from Steam it will not update. I just wanted to be absolutely sure with downgrade like that...
