Apologies if this isn’t quite the right place to ask this but,

Could anyone briefly explain how the devices override default idles and force the player/npc to use the specific restrained idles?

 

I’m familiar with the creation kit/xEdit/scripting and modding in general, but if anyone could point me in the right direction to where in that whole process the magic happens, I would appreciate it.

I’m wanting to apply animation overrides to some of my own custom equipment.

I'm not sure anyone in this thread knows how FNIS (or even Nemesis) does its stuff. You might ask or look on the FNIS mod page.

Hello. I remember this mod having a quest with the librarian and with Sergius. I've read that the Urag quest was dropped, but I can't find anything on the Sergius experiment (except people complaining they can't finish it). Not sure how to start the quest if it still exists. If not then is console and item adding mods the only ways to get charge plug? Sorry if you've answered these questions somewhere, I really can't find anything.

My mods: FNIS Behaviour, FNIS Creature, SKSE 2.2.3 for GOG, SkyUI 5.2 SE, CBBE 1.7.1, BodySlide and Outfit Studio 5.6.0, XP32 Maximum Skeleton SE, RaceMenu, CBPC 1.5.6, FSMPV 1.3, Deviously Pink, Devious Devices [SE] [AE] [VR] 5.2.7, Devious Lore SE, Touched by Dibella, Address Library for SKSE, SexLabFramework GOG 1.6.5, SexLab Aroused SSE Loose, ZAZ 7.0.

My problem: When putting devices on a character, the device and some parts of the character become invisible. I've seen messages about BodySlide, but I really don't understand how to use it. All the guides on the internet just say: choose, set up and enjoy. I don't understand what to choose and how to set up. Or maybe I'm missing something? Need another mods?

Quest doesn't exist anymore. I think someone plans on bringing it back eventually as a separate mod, but it hasn't been done yet.

Just what I've got in the troubleshooting post. There's an updated SE patch esp, the link to the script fix for the device hider log spam, and a 3BA bodyslide patch for the ropebinder and the link to the BHUNP bodyslides and SLIF patch.

Hi i have the problem when i start the game the models seem to not display correctly does anybody know what i need to change to make it display correctly?I tried the reinstall of the CBBE and Bodyslide which was said to someone with a similar problem but it did nothing. Edit:picture of installed mods added

Make sure you run both the DD and DCL bodyslides with batch build. Use the vortex help if you don't know how to setup bodyslide to work with it.

I think that 'ghost' outline you have is an overlay, not your actual body. invisible bodies are solely because bodyslide was not run or it's not configured to output to the right path.

could you explain this that a noob understands it? this is the first time i work with these mods sorry. vortex doesnt really help me and when i start bodyslide there are no things to choose from

1GB for unregistered users, 3GB or 5GB for registered free users IIRC.

I don't use vortex anymore so you will need to use vortex help to set up bodyslide. It should be a menu on the left side of vortex iirc, there's a topic for setting up bodyslide.

 

After that's done, there's some instructions in the troubleshooting post. If you need more help, google how to use bodyslide, there's a ton of videos out there for it.

But the limit should be 2gb and the file is just under that. I don't have trouble downloading from mega and i'm a free user.

If you can't find the key
to open iron prisoner's chain in contraptions
it's a mistake you need 200 keys ^^

with sseedit open contraptions.esm

at left select armor / iron prisoners chain 

at right search NumberOfKeysNeeded replace 200 to 1 save done.

 

If you don't have the key you must break free as before
And if you're a jailer you need one key now

This have 200 keys as reason as this isn't restraint, but marks NPC for using devices. So it's simple removes by remark it.

It's not chains built into a piece of furniture like you think
the requirement asks for 200 keys and considers you don't have a key with 199=0 you don't have the right key

It's a constraint,autonomous and one of the best !!!
they are animated chains of prisoners which hinder the hands, prevent the use of weapons and spells
with a shock sound, the crouching position changes to supplication

Like all zaz devices included which are also functional with same options (escape ,1 hours 2 hours , with key)
with the player integrate has contraptions.
for all we need one and the same key and not 200!

You need a mod that allows equipping
and not just put in the inventory ? 

there are a few here or on Nexus

You don't need anything it's build into DDC

You look at NPC and press Pg Up button - on NPC wear up this restraint. That means it selected for put into device.

Then look at device and put Pg UP button and NPC goes into device

If you press second time Pg UP, when chains are on NPC, it deselect NPC and chains disappear.

If I wanted to combine the boxbinder with the transparent hobble dress and have both effects/animations/poses apply, how would I do that?  Trying to make a webbed up outfit for some spider bondage

You would need to edit the meshes. Either try outfit studio which has some basic editing stuff, or use a full blown mesh program like blender. I think blender will also do the animations, but I've never touch blender or animations, so i can't confirm.

 

for the items themselves to work as DD's, you'll need two armor records. One for the visuals and using the AA pointing to your nifs, and one for the inventory. You can just copy and edit a similar item to get started.

 

That's going to be about the most we can help you out with in this thread, you want to look up mod creation stuff, not the help threads for this mod.

One last question though:  which part of the armour controls the posing?  Is it a record/entry I can see/copy/replicate using SSEEdit?

It's a spell on rendered device. And in inventory device are struggle animation array for escape. Probably not spell, but item enchantment.
