DD is a framework. It doesn't ever lock anything on you. Content mods such as Laura's shop or DCL equip items. AFAIK, there is no mod out there that only ever drops only rope devices. I will make a note of this. Perhaps I can add this to DCL.

DD 5.2 contains:

Devious Devices Assets (DDa)
Devious Devices Integration (DDi)
Devious Devices Expansion (DDx)

Devious Devices Contraptions (DDc)

Devious Devices For Him (optional)

Devious Devices Beast Race ReFits (BRRF) (optional)

 

They should be in that order above.

 

Devious Devices Equip is a different mod

Basically just copy one of the existing devices that's close to what you want. The key is there are two armor entries for each device. one is inventory and one is script or render (they're the same just named differently).

Thanks for your reply. So I would have to open the dd folder/scripts, find the .pex file and the .psc file and put them in the item that I want to make devious? I think I might be missing something. I'm looking through the dd folder in data and I'm guessing I'm not copying a mesh or a texture file.

 

I want to make this work like a zip suit or a straight jacket and make it so it requires a key to get out of: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/45957

I was talking about in the esm. The armor records already have scripts attached, you don't need to look in the scripts folder at all.

Copy the full chain harness, straitjacket or one of the catsuits to a new plugin with a new editor id and just point it to that mod's meshes and textures. Update the names too so it matches what's in that mod.

I don't see ZaZAnimationPack listed in requirements of DD 5.2.
I think i remember DD used to depend on it - is that not the case anymore, or am i wrong?

I got  a question, I cant equip hoods with this mod, even though I have nothing equipped. Ive been looking around for a patch (if one exists) for DD and Frostfall. I know the authour has said in the compatibility section but was wondering if there was a solution to this.

That sounds like you've got mods fighting over facial expressions. Opening the mouth for gags makes use of these expressions. Can't help you with that, you'll need to look at your list.

 

A common troubleshooting method is divide and conquer - split your list in half, check for the issue. if it's not there, it's in the other half. keep splitting down until you find it.

 

Or you can load DD and it's requirements only and slowly add mods until you find the culprit.

Thanks so much for the reply, Kimy! And thank you for clarifying on what devious devices is. Forgive my ignorance on that part.

Funnily enough, I was hoping this would be an option on DCL! I love your mod, but one thing that I hoped for was making the devices be only rope devices for immersion!

i don't really see a problem with that, it's extremely minor. BHUNP is also unsupported. You can try the conversions for them, but they may not cover the new outfits. Or you can convert yourself from UNP to BHUNP. I would assume all you need to do is conform the sliders and copy the bodyweights. There's tutorials on that if you google for them. The tiny bit of clipping you see is a weight issue. either it doesn't match, or someone added more new bones to BHUNP.

DId you even bother to read anything??? It's in there right now, just install DD 5.2. It's on the troubleshooting post too if you must run old version of DD for god knows what reason. That's linked on the second post of the thread. I can't make it any more fucking clear it's all over if you look for 5 seconds.

Try disabling device hider. There is no patch for frostfall. There is one for CC warmth that should work for sunhelm too. you could use those or adapt it for frostfall. Due to how DD's work, you won't see warmth reflected in your inventory, but it should be applied. And that has nothing to do with if the hood is equipped or not.

First time I post here so sorry if I am off topic or sound like a noob.

 

Am a big fan of HDT hair and gotten it to work perfect.  Also a fan of DD.

 

When ever I install DD the hair becomes static when I change armor. 

 

I can get it to work again by taking the armor of and wait a sec for the hair to sort of fall down. Then put the same armor back on and it works again.

 

I have tryed anything from new games to only using DD and whats needed for HDT hair, it works as soon as I remove DD and stops when I install it again.

 

If the info helps it also works with a new game untill I load my first save, so when DD installs basicly. Sorry if its too small of a problem for anyone to bother, its just bugs the hell out of me :)    And thx for DD and all the other great mods.

 

It also means when a animation starts the hair is static.

 

It does not feel like a bodslide or fnis issue as it works with that little trick of removing armor and waiting, but can ofcause be wrong.

 

Its posted here because I can get it to work with all other mods.   Tryed the following hair packages: Ks, HDT-SMP hair, Yundao and a few others and they work just fine without DD.

 

Maybe there is not fix but here is hoping.

No idea on that. you might try asking on the fsmp mod page. or if you're using the old hdt smp instead of fsmp, switch to that. fsmp is the better mod at this point.

having an issue with armbinders, tried looking online but couldn't find a real solution, just a bunch of people with a similar issue. I installed everything properly (afaik) as my armbinder animation used to work in the past, but on my latest playthrough, equipping armbinders makes my player do their normal idle animation. the armbinder gets equipped but the players arms stay the same. any ideas on what the possible fix for this could be? or the issue that's causing this? reinstalled zaz animation pack, etc but nothing seems to be working. all the other devious devices animations seem to work, just the armbinder and yoke animations are bugged. any help would be appreciated!

 

edit1: items like the straitjacket and other devious device items work, just any kind of armbinder or yoke doesn't seem to work.

 

edit2: reinstalled zaz and DD, still only having issues with dd yokes and armbiners :/

If you're using nemesis, it causes problems with DD and is not supported. Uninstall nemesis and reinstall all fnis mods. or DD and fnis at bare minimum (you will probably still need to reinstall other mods).

 

If you have FNIS sexy move, try toggling player 360 walk.

 

Sometimes, the script doesn't fire right after a loading screen. jumping should fix that.

Could be another mod overwriting DD's idles. Try on a new game with a minimal load order - just DD and it's requirements. add your mods back one at a time until you find where it breaks.

I have been loading FNIS folder with Nemesis in MO2. I haven't seen any issues described in that case.

Pure Nemesis does not cut it, true, but letting it register FNIS have worked for myself and plenty of others.

 

Of course, load orders are unique. It is perfectly possible that some players have files that just do now work with this combination.
