Distortedrealms Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 I was looking over my mod setup and I realized that I have set up my game (with mods) in such a way that I have never seen anyone else mention they do similar. In order to make my playthroughs more dangerous, and interesting I made a few changes. In a nutshell I was tired of having so many perks come so easy, so I used The Community Uncapper to stop perk points from being attained on level up. I downloaded a mod called "dragons Blood" that adds a potion to a dragon corpse (But only sometimes) that when ingested gives you a perk point. So I have to literally fight for my perks. Combine that with Enemy Enhancer making dragons no joke, it takes effort to become stronger in the game. I also used the community uncapper to only allow fighting skills to level up my character, so no more smithing/enchanting leveling up my character. So, what have you done to your game that you believe is rare, or unique to you?
ther1pper Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 I didn't want to nerf my characters so i just made everything else stronger via better magic, deadly dragons, Organized Bandits of Skyrim, and Revenge of the enemies. Result? I can no longer fight dragons upclose, my forsworn are OP to the point where i need to kill them quick or i die quick, certain bandits have the reflect damage perk which will kill me instead, and fighting more than 5 bandits will result in my death when using my male character. Also i refuse to use a slutty replacer for my armors but i use a bodyslide replacer to have the vanilla armors keep the same build as my bodyslide bodies.
KoolHndLuke Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Specific classes to form combined arms teams. Archers are deadly at range and quick on their feet with a few special abilities to evade attackers. Same goes for defenders, beserkers, dual wield weapon masters. Some can cast a few spell buffs to help in combat. I try to give followers special combinations of abilities and spells to make them more unique. It's exhausting because I am always wanting to change things. Would love to bring mounted combat into the mix, but, mods I have tried are buggy. Also siege weapons. Combinations of mods to add more enemies at different levels to forts, caves, strongholds. Got an idea for heavy infantry or shock troops for both the imperials and stormcloaks. Better armor, better weapons, better skills than ordinary. Had another idea to bring the orcs in on one side or the other, but, then I thought they probably wouldn't do that. If I get half of what I want working, it will be fantastic.

Distortedrealms Posted May 6, 2018 Author Posted May 6, 2018 Well Dragon blood only sometimes gives you the potions, not always, so I have to often kill 3-4 dragons before even getting one potion and I set up dragon spawn rates to rare. As for leveled encounters I didn't add to my op the mods I have to rectify the cheap encounters of the base game so I am not playing a vanilla base here like your examples. I use permazones, Rote, enemy enhancer, HLE, and most recently, Run Dragonborn Run, to name a few so I can meet enemies at any time that are often well above level 80 and well above any vanilla enemy in every way. Add the buffs from enemy enhancer to enemies and I can be one hit splatter even at high health/armor. I also use genesis to spawn more enemies, and then enemizer to clone those same enemies up to 3x. Some dungeons will have over a hundred bandits/draugr and I don't use followers so I can assure you my game is a nightmare.
NickNozownik Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 1. More weapon damage and damage scaling, combat is more like high risk high reward rather than turning every bandit into Thor 2. Selling drugs to NPCs. This includes selling drugs to kids, that's what they get for being in a video game 3. Recruiting named NPCs, guards and even jarls to take over bandit camps and forts, or traveling with them to see how long they can last. They don't last very long, OBIS bandits are merciless savages 4. Or being a bandit and recruiting other bandits to take over villages and cities, "Bandit Butcher" from OBIS is a fucking monster 5. Adding a shitload of random traveling NPCs (Adventurers and Travelers mod) and replacing boring animals with aggressive NPCs. That makes the world more populated and basically turns it into a war zone, I always hear something dying in the background 6. Littering everything with empty bottles. Fuck the environment, I'm evil 7. Robbing houses at night as my main source of income, sometimes killing people for shits and giggles because I don't care about quests That's it. I'm trying to make my game more entertaining rather than challenging.

landess Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 After becoming a 'Jack of all trades' and doing all the factions/quests/yada yada, I decided to make all subsequent play through's unique by role playing as best as the game would allow. I added quite a few mods to enhance each new characters role in the world while adding others like Deadly Dragons, etc. which help all the new play through's. While you are obviously going to be the Dragonborn no matter how you slice it, it doesn't have to rule what you decide to do until you follow the main quest. Most times after beginning a new character with this in mind, I often head out to seek the faction, and quests/locations which fit that choice immediately after reaching Riverwood. I also actively ignore all factions and quests which break that characters immersion, and choose what skills and perks to use to supplement this: no more jack of all trades. This helps me use crafting more, or depend on merchants more, etc. While this style of game play nets less experience at first, It allows for certain locations to level up with me before I do finally explore them - if at all. I also reach the end of each play through quicker instead of it dragging on.
Distortedrealms Posted May 7, 2018 Author Posted May 7, 2018 Nice, I like everyones so far. From intense role playing, custom races, to littering I played the main quest 5 years ago on xbox 360 and never played to the end again, I do the Dawnguard quest because of Amorous Adventures though. Some mods that required me to do parts of the main quest aside it was rarely beyond the old shits on the mountain. These days, beyond what I do above, I enjoy using defeat as a succubus to capture those evil bandits/wizards and use Deadly drain to fill my black soul gems to sustain my character. Shes a good little bad girl. Next i will try alternate adventures kill on sight mod for my character. Now having wings and horns may actually get me killed.
Cjvs Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 headshots kill against non heavy helms, bows're less op and less easy to use, hilariously high amounts of armor and weapon variety. lots of new enemies and better AI, quests new lands, in a tropical style skyrim that can be swapped around at leisure via MO profiles more immersive living, copius amounts of lewd stuff too if its saught after. but most of all. the your own skyrim mod makes me adore actually questing again
Darkpig Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 I have played many a roleplay. I often roleplay an assassin. Meaning I definitely won't kill Nazeem unless of course you have septims to pay me with. Sometimes I play as a meathead warrior, sometimes a scholarly mage but Im always looking for that cash. I almost forgot about the sex mods :3. Can't have my skyrim without that. Last time I tried playing clockwork castle in a horror playthrough and it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. The start gave me quite a scare but after that it was just me fighting some immortal enemies. I won't spoil too much but it is a decent mod nonetheless.
MrEsturk Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Let's see: - Thanks to this mod my character is truly not Dragonborn. I pretend the real Dragonborn is out there doing their heroic thing while my character... lives her rather tragic life. - I use Tropical Skyrim, which completely rewrites the climate into exactly what it sounds like. - I changed all the vanilla clothing/armor meshes of both genders into costumes I got from numerous mods (rather silly for all those cold weather outfits in the tropics after all). Ironically the numerous Tera armor mods were even more helpful in replacing the male costumes than the female ones (Though bikini armor is still the law of the land in my Skyrim ) - I use Moonlight Tales, which makes being a werewolf not the sugar-coated style of the Companions Questline. You get hunted, you can lose control and automatically transform at night. The fullmoon cycle causes three nights in a row of being a beast. And so on. - I kept parts of SKYRE, such as the rescaled weapon/armor stats, stones, and race traits. - The woodelves in my game are a deer like humanoid race. - Filled the game with various new monsters. Mostly ones that fit the tropical/desert climate. The lions from Prides of Skyrim are a nightmare... - And if you haven't guessed by me frequenting this site I have a ton of sex and bondage based mods installed. Skyrim became a pretty sleazy place. - Due to how perverted things are I set all the children not linked to a major questline to be automatically disabled. Nothing like having a sexual encounter be interupted by a little girl wandering up then rambling on about her mother's vegetable stand to make you wonder when Chris Hanson is going to pop out of the bushes and request you take a seat

mercplatypus Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Mostly I just decide on what type of character build wise I want to play and focus on enjoying the build. Usually during creation in racemenu some idea will come to mind and I take it from there. Sometimes I'll see a mod or comment in a thread that makes me say "that'll be awesome" and start going from there. Most recently I ran across SLUTS redux and started thinking about how it would ever actually fit into a character I'd make. I read some comments about Trade and Barter to make everything much more expensive and give the speech skill an actual purpose. Combine with Honed Metal (I've run smithing/enchanting to max so many times I don't even want to look at a forge anymore), a lowly prostitute start in CCAS, and I have the beginnings of a new character (lady this time around) roaming the land of Skyrim trying to make enough money to buy her adventuring gear to escape from her current lot in life and occasionally being sent back into poverty after being robbed requiring her to start at the bottom again. In short I figure out an RP scenario and run with it. I don't care about difficulty, the story that unfolds with each character is what really matters to me.

There was a guy that released the resources for the deer body parts, but never made an official mod for it. I made the Woodelf conversion mod. Here's a screenshot of one of them: The females can't wear clothes, due to their custom legs. I suppose if I wanted to be thorough I could download the amputation mod and simply use that to remove their human lower legs, which would allow armors to display properly. But since I only designed the mod for my personal use I don't care enough. 38 minutes ago, Darkpig said: You too? I know, I know. Yeah, the Essentials version keeps the cooldown or rather the Once A Day trait from the vanilla game for the Beast Form power. The Overhaul version by default disables it(or makes it perhaps a second or two), though it can still be reenabled in the MCM.

Bodyslide/Outfit Studio (the tool used for armor and body conversions) has different language options including German, in case you didn't know. All you need to do is click on "Settings", change the Language option to German, close the program, and open it again.
