After a year or so away, th'orkers are back . . .

It seems my horker textures had disappeared for whatever reason, although the meshes were still there. Installed Gamwich's textures and bingo! I can't understand why the horkers disappeared completely though. I searched all along the north coast using detect life and found nothing. I never saw anything fighting with an invisble something or any blue horkers.

The horker showed up at a very opportune moment.

OBIS spawned a dozen or more bandits at Traitor's Post so I did a runner down the hill a-hacking and a-fireballin'. I'd spotted one of those draman daedra things from SIC so I ran towards that and got it involved. Meanwhile a follower from Honeypopcorn Skyrim Overhaul, which I'm trying out, jumped in. Both the draman and the follower got a fireball round the back of the head because I didn't realise they were there.

Phase 2, draman and follower girl dead and me half-dead so I ran down the hill with the intention of getting the skellies outside Yngold involved.

Phase 3, stopped and turned for one last fireball before I run behind the skellies and whoosh the horker launches itself uphill past my shoulder and just by dint of its size occupied several bandits (it wer' a big bugger).

Phase 4 , I was so surprised to see a horker that I failed to notice that the skellies had entered the fray from the left. So yet again I launched a fireball (or two) which caught the skellies.

Phase 5, one Argonian skellie had hung back to use his bow so as I retreated back towards the barrow entrance he switched to melee. There was still about half a dozen bandits left at this point but they were mostly damaged to some degree.

Phase 5, Argo-skellie played a blinder keeping some of the bandits busy, leaving me free to get some fireballs off. Didn't take long to finish them off after that.

Counted about a dozen bandits from the barrow to the Traitor's Post and there were still three live ones in there.

Better get liquid helpers so the idle time is not wasted.

I probably should get on the whole "asking permission" part of making my book mod, but I don't know where some of the stuff is from, some is implied "free for non commercial use" and some I don't know how to find who to ask.

Then I also went and installed a book covers mod and a bookshelves mod that changes book item sizes so its just a giant, non-compatible mess unless you've got all the mods I have installed because to make my text changes (images are just links in the text) I either overwrite the other mod content or merge, and I merged.

I might just have to release it as a mod resource, since the pictures are the right size and mostly sorted to content.  I might be able to extract out the custom notes I made and the leveled lists that add them to bandit, wizard and guard/soldier loot (pickpocketing practice = stealing porn from sleeping guards)

I had a job once where I had several de-facto supervisors, and it was about to get worse, *anyone* could request my services, so I quit.

Not sure years later it was the best career move I ever made...

But I've been trying many new mods (pictures missing)

such as a mod that turns the Bannered Mare into a bar with a kinky basement.

ONE of those mods causes a ctd-on-save.

Could it be....a skooma mod?

I don't drink but the book I'm currently reading is "The Cambridge Ancient History Vol 02, Part 02 - The Middle East and the Aegean Region, c. 1380-1000 B.C" as I continue to study the LBA Collapse.

Also playing (unmodded) TW Rome 2 as the Seleucids and doing very nicely, thank you.

And as far as Skyrim goes, I am at my add and remove mods stage of the game and as per usual the game keeps trundling along with no problems. I installed Honeypopcorns Skyrim Overhaul which is 1,37GB compressed and has female textures which, in game, add up to 328MB* per NPC! I also, by mistake, activated Interesting NPCs which obviously added another zillion NPCs. The game just took it all and I could still run everywhere without problems apart from a bit of stutter when OBIS was spawning bandits.

* I've swapped out these textures for something a bit more civilised - Fairskin Optimised for 38 or 48MB per fem.

Anticipating future developments of an interesting persuasion.

This lady, Helen, is part of Honeypopcorn's Skyrim Overhaul. However, Honeypopcorn does a Camilla replacer which has the option of using it as a standalone follower called Helen who is the same as this lady here. I know this because I have the Helen follower installed (she lives in the Riverwood Trader).

Dolly's breasts are growing and her height is decreasing. I generally get random body-changes any time around level 50.

Please share that mod when it's done! It's so hard to find picture book mods that look this good. Most of the ones I've found either use in-game images of poor quality or low-res scanned images from RL.

I could share something right now, but ...

I don't have a great certainty that I'm not infringing something (or 15) by doing so. I mostly have images from rule34 and Hentai Foundry and I think (the HF stuff at least) is listed as a Berne Convention release which I think means I can use it without asking without making money.

I have made a bit of a mess making the mod... There are a lot of new, created notes and a books that are flat out standalone, but I also edited a bunch of notes and a couple books from the vanilla game. I then added a couple book appearance mods and copied some of the changed values into my mod so my text would over ride the original but take the new covers and bookshelf size values.  I don't know how well I can untangle those or just list them as requirements.

For the new items I've made, I distribute them through the world with leveled item loot lists added to bandit, warlock and guard/soldier loot lists. That might cause a conflict if someone else has changed the loot lists.  Maybe.

On the other hand, if nothing else I could probably remake my project into just the created stuff and lists, or created stuff only and let people do some work. Given the nature of the images, releasing it generally on Nexus probably wouldn't fit that market, so making a modders resource for the book project types is probably out.

One of the reasons images often do not look good is you can only use an image at max 396x450 or so on notes, and 320x450 in books. Often if you take a full image and just resize it, you have something too small to see. Resizing can also re-sample colors  One of the hardest things I've had to work around is converting the image to 256 colors to make a transparent layer, so I don't have a colored box around the slave girl on the left of the second image above. Some images use colors that adjust well and others.... have been discarded.

The original of that slavegirl looks like this:

I kind of figured that there would be issues regarding usage.

Overwriting text shouldn't be an issue. Written text doesn't do anything. It's the scripts attached to a document, if any, that determine functionality. Regular (non-skill) books don't do anything more than provide a quick read. Skill books, quest notes, and others have scripts attached that trigger whatever they're linked to; the text is essentially meaningless. The only "conflict" that can happen is a mod overwriting another's replacement text and inserted images if it's loaded after another that does the same.

As for loot lists, my experience is that they get overwritten by whatever mod alters them last. But that's just my (very limited) experience and then it's only in removing Daedric items from loot lists.

Well, the book item contains everything, including the text.  If an armor mod changed the armor addon of an item, it would not replace the keywords or light/heavy status of the armor, but books don't have an AA record. One of the book mods I mashed in adds a bunch of custom covers and adds more colors (some books actually have the book name on the spine and front cover, or have a new icon on the front) and so they revert the text back to whatever was in which patch they picked up. (One didn't use the LE patch so I had 4 text variations showing up on xEdit, skyrim.esm, LE patch, book mod, my mod).  The vanilla books have an HTML like limited set of codes for font type, alignment (left, right center) and including images. If a mod touches a book, it won't have my images in it.  All of the notes and books I edited do retain their script for quests or skill increases, but without the mods I have you might have a missing cover.

I will have to test that sometime and find out how messy that gets.

Hopefully if anyone was using a mod that changed loot lists, they'd be able to merge my changes with whatever they're using and have things work out. Another thing I need to do is figure out good chance rates. For testing I have it pretty much at 100% and get 1-2 items from every npc that could have one. That might be too high, or could fit lore wise, that if there is an easy enough way to reproduce these, even grubby bandits would have a few.  Something else I had in mind was making some books you could "craft" if you collected enough pages, but since the loot chance is completely random it wouldn't be anything you could work toward, unlike an ebony shield with two grand soul enchants, or some 4 effect alchemy potion.

I might have misread your comment, so some of this might be moot.

even worse, DiD's spectator crowd mechanics drew all chaurus from every spot in blackreach to my party ?

Also not exactly new, but when you say DiD do you mean Dragonborn in Distress? I didn't see any crowd mechanis although it's in my game, i guess it only triggers if you use it's own rape function? Tried that twice, once i wasn't raped at all, just put in a cell and some forsworn was moving her mouth without saying anything, other time it was giants, no capture and thanks to wear and FHU i couldn't get away in time and was just killed.

Any hints on how to use it?^^

For myself, i do have something like 60 hours in game and also still fun. But no need to upgrade anything, i'm still lvl1. That is my attempt to get my gear back for free after a radiant prositution customer stole it all.

I've not seen it in my game either now you mention it. I can't imagine where it would apply - certainly not to things such as chaurus, surely?

Not to my knowledge, when I took that screenshot, I'd slept for a few hours, and was woken up to being raped by trolls. No idea why, but it happened.
