Khaahan Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Alright, I'm back again... since I 'm not happy with the way things are going I'm restarting from zero, leaving installed, or I should better say "activated", only whatever is not directly involved in AAF and reinstalling, and I mean reinstalling, everything step by step, even if that means spending the rest night with it {it's 3:45am here}. Now... why am I here? Because I read what someone said about "installation guides". I don't mean to be mean {pun not intended, perhaps!} since I respect the huge and awesome work you're doing here, I'm a hard worker myself, with all the problems I have in the process... with all due respect I must say none of those guides really helps and won't really help everybody... language barriers, stupidity {in my case most of the times}, a different mental approach to things {myself again, for sure}... whatever... I resolved to take all those guides and sew them, yeah... The big problem there is the fact that one brings to another that brings to another and that one to another... is like playing with those nasty nested Chinese wooden dolls... which brings only confusion and devious {like those homonymous devices} traps. So I will "sew" them into a single page and see if all makes finally sense and helps me making things work as they should, once and for all. It will be something personal, I won't share it, until I'm not sure it's been 100% successful and I won't ever share it if I won't have permissions from the various authors to do that. I must do this, it's the only way I have to get throughout this, after having followed istructions at the letter.. clearly I needed to solve the puzzle that made me fall into mistakes and madness. I hope all this makes sense to you guys either. I wanted to let you all know what I'm doing, and if together with that I will even manage into making BodySlide and OutfitStudio work like a charm through ModOrganizer2 {i.e. loading those damned textures, first of all!} then I will be finally ready to give my own contribute at my very best. Cheers! Are you finding that installation guides for your different mods contradict each other? I've never used a lot of the mods that others here use like CBBE, RSE, FPE, and so on. So if there's a conflict in the install guides, I do not have a clue about it. If you do organize the guides in whatever way makes sense to you, but in the end find yourself frustrated by contradictions between them, I would bring the specific issues to the attention of the mod authors so they can make changes to their guide(s). Hope that made sense? If it didn't, just ignore me.

It's not something I've invented... it's in the common and universally accepted rules of communication, one of those which says that if I tell you something about an event giving you some detailed information and you talk about it to somebody and that somebody does the same with somebody else and you keep that process going to the point that somebody comes to me and talks to me telling me that information completely ignoring you were the first one who did spread that word in first instance, well... you can be absolutely sure the information you get will be completely different from the information you did spread. So, speaking of your suggestion... I would gladly do what you said but fact is that before to be able to give detailed information and/or suggestions I need to make my way into the problem or the problems, first, and find out where they eventually are. I have worked closely with them to help get the info right to avoid confusion. Farelle in his guide at a certain point gives a link to another guide so we are supposed to go there and then go back to his own again... that might generate confusion or mistakes... my aim is to avoid that jump back and forth giving a unique reading flow. Anyway @forgets is right... I will need a lot of luck indeed because is not as easy as it seems, which also tells me I might be right about the fact that there's a problem there, a problem I correctly spotted... else it would have been quite easy to do. Perhaps I'm wrong, who knows... but I believe I'll find that out pretty soon! I will gladly show the work done, to all the authors involved, so to have even their feedback. I strive for collaborations, that's why I'm enthusiast about your proposal. Speaking of... I've got an idea... since my body mod is about naturalism and realism I thought I should work on the body I made so that the breasts "adapt" to the animations... for example... they go flat when the woman lays on her back, or hang when she's on four... and so on. I mean... if by the XML we can choose what to make the character wear in "action" why shouldn't we be able to even"wear" a different body as well? It might seem complicated and maybe it is, but there's no harm in trying. If it's successful then... well... this might become something unprecedented! I'm quite an ambitious guy, I know.
reaper69 Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Had a porblem with the first minutemen quest in concord where the quest got stuck inside the museum. tried everything to fix the problem. then i disabled AAF and the quest work fine anyone else having this problem 1

I dunno...if there is a way to call it with the console, you can probably use the mod FO4 Hotkeys. I would ask Rufgt if there is a console command that calls his animations.

With AAF and the new animations, I’m not sure how they work with updates. Do I just install the new mods? Do I have to uninstall and then install? If you are using NMM you should uninstall and then check the Data folder. If AAF still exists there then delete it. MO2 always get's it as far as I can tell. You have to clean up the scripts that are cooked into your save too. So fallrim tools. Probably a lot like dealing with RSE was. A couple of brave souls have tried just uninstall/reinstall and they say it's worked. I have no faith in that procedure. Heh

If it works, no reason to fix what isn't broken. If it doesn't, make a clean save.

I started a new game and worked through the quest line and Nick sat in his own chair this time but when I got to the Reunions start, Dogmeat smelling the cigar, Dogmeat just ran away and Reunions did not trigger. I backed up in save and tried a couple times and even went to Hagan. No idea if its related, just passing on info.

I do think that could be helpful because everyone has different writing styles. It's probably a bit of whiplash switching from guide to guide. A good, consistent layout style could help. This is a known issue. The bad news is that it is caused by a very root, fundamental line of code for which there isn't currently an alternative. The good news is that Expired offered to add a replacement solution through LooksMenu. I'm not sure what the timing will be. There is not a way to do this built into AAF. But, it would be very easy to make an add-on mod to do this. It would be great to see someone make a mod like this.
