Skyrim Chain Beasts

I noticed an issue that has some up with the usage of the mod. After I had freed my follower from the chain beast she now is equipped with the chain beast gag every time we enter a building. I'm not sure if it is a bug or not but I though it was good to point this out.

SCB rocks!

Those wild chain beasts where able to get my whole party naked in no time lol

Also great if a chain beast spawns near a busy road and chests pile up, looting friend and foe was never so easy =D

 

Question:

There is an option in MCM that controls the "lesser chain beast" key drops

do I understand it correct that a value of 100% means zero key drops on lesser chain beasts?

if so = it seems not to work, I found on any chainbeast a key (unless wild chainbeasts are never "lesser chainbeasts")

 

I need more zaz furniture in skyrim!

Try visiting pinepeak cavern (close to Ivarstead; at bottom of 7K steps). Not exactly what you indicate but close...

Maybe a fashion choice of your follower.  Even after release they are still carrying it in their inventory so they may decide to wear it? In any case I've addressed it with a change in the next version; restraints will be dropped on release.

Wild minor beast indeed not quite working as they should, I've added some fixes in upcoming version.

There are mods that add zaz devices.   I've also added a new mechanism to allow beasts to deal with outside areas with no ZAZ devices.

(Be prepared to crawl a lot....)

I use POP as standard furniture provider for citys

I used legume's zaz furniture adding mod, but I conflicted too much with ETaC (displaces doors of ETaC modified houses in cities). I use ETaC beta now, maybe I should try again.

BFW comes with his own compatibility issue.

ME is great, but I would conflict-a-lot in my LO.

Any mod that adds furniture I missed?

I love your chainbeasts, sir! 
I gave it a try on earlier version before, but had to uninstall after few hours of toying cause of many bugs.
Now after few updates, I tried it again and it's a huge improvement.

To my surprise there is even a quest! Oh and I'm not sure if it was intended or not (maybe escaped experiment :P ), but I loved the living shackles that attached on me out of the blue in the Winterhold (at least I think it was Winterhold - the Ulfric town). It was unexpected but awesome. An entire "family" of such creatures would have been amazing - especially that I don't think I was even able to attack it, it just happened so fast.

One observation - my current character as a light armor user with perks that increase stamina regeneration can handle spider and hound beasts with ease on default settings.
They can't seem to eat through that stamina. It was easly corrected by increasing the strength of the bite in the settings, so not really an issue.

Oh and crawling more sounds fun :D

Make sure ZAZ is and its prerequisites (sexlab, skse...) are installed and working. Then just install SkyrimChainBeasts-v0.2.6.7z with mod manager.  Now all except CBBE bodyslide should work. Install CBBE fix overtop if using CBBE bodyslide.

 

Edit: Just released new version so could go for that instead (v0.2.8 - should finally include the CBBE fix but no promises ;) )

with the SCB 1.2.5 and the evil bounty hunter walking ankle chain beast in windhelm,

I had the issue that -as soon as it tried to "arrest" my poor PC- all NPCs got hostile to the chains and killed it before it could do it's arrest.

Possibly stupid question, but I also don't understand script mechanics.  Would it be possible to, in a future update, include an MCM option that makes the mod treat the player as if they're a specific race (nord for example) as a way of handling custom races?

 

For example: If you're using a custom race like the succubus race, selachii, temptress, etc. You click in the MCM "treat as nord" so the mod can work.

 

 

I know the mod doesn't always work the best with custom races, I'm curious if this would be a feasible (though not perfect) fix or not.

Forgot to add in the description:

[Changed]  It should now skip the `is a playable race' check for the player (as the player is a playable race by definition....).

However I have no way of testing it and have no idea what will happen with the restraints; armor models seem to be race based. May need a patch for the specific race.

(Non-player custom races are still treated as non-capturable.)

Is the patrolling armor there or does it require summoning?
Can't seem to find it in any town.
Just updated, so I may have messed things up - but the MCM seems to be updated.

Update:
Activated the golden mine near the blue palace with a bounty on me.
Once I got captured I was taken to the prison, but on the way I kept getting aggro from the entire town.
The Debug calm spell took them off of me, but once I got out of the jail they all went all berserker on me again.
Also I noticed that the gag I got from golden beasts was in fact iron in colour while all the NPC that got caught had proper golden one.

Another observation - may have missed that in previous versions - dogs have a gem shoved in between their legs, much like the one in gemstone beasts.

Again: could be just me screwing up the patching up process :P

Cool.  I might be able to do some tinkering on my own to get the armors to fit.  But possibly not.  Zaz has a real dislike for custom races as well.  I haven't figured out how to figure that out yet either.  Particularly the gags.

Not sure anymore - could be walking about windhelm or may only appear if you have a bounty - it will only go after you if you have a bounty in any case.

Wrongly filled property; same for rusted mask. Should be fixed now in working version.

Not sure why but aggression management is tricky...will need to look at it some more.

? I don't think the mod changes anything about dogs.

Victims, however, that's a different matter (depending on which model you choose if using bodyslide...)

Update was likely fine but in general: Without clean same some properties may not get updated properly. MCM entries are changed in the script itself so will likely update even without a clean save; not a good indication that the entire update was successful unfortunately.

If it's the walking ankle shackles, then I believe I found them last patch in Windhelm.
Didn't notice them this time, but it might be due to not having bounty.

Will check the dogs again. Figured maybe some assets of beasts and dogs are shared and maybe bleed over to one another :O 

Oh and do we still have to apply bodyslides from the download list or the new versions have those in them?

v0.2.8 should include the latest bodyslide files so only the single file is needed.

I´m also having the CTD problem. After some investingating with the debug page, here´s what works and what doesn´t:

- The crawling animation works

- The standard chainbeast works, attaches and walks me out of town to god knows where

- Any type of spider sort of work. They appear, I get cocooned. Then the cocoon sort of floats to the nearest furniture, whithout the spider.

- The cage beast appears but I have to enter manually, otherwise I get walked around

- Any other chainbeast apart from the standard one, be it gemmed, silver, golden or rusty causes CTD at the capture stage. They work ok as enemy and the first stages are ok where they equip the shackles and gag, but as soon as the capture is supposed to happen, instant CTD.

- While under "beast control", you still can take control for a short time until your stamina is drained (intended?)

- While under "beast control", the camera is locked to up-down. Left right is locked.

- While in ZAZ furniture, you cant zoom out or in.

 

If I have the time and energy, I might test disabling the other devious mods I currently have (DCL, Laura´s Bondage Shop, Devious Followers, Devious Lore mainly).

Well, I got it working by deactivating a bunch of mods, then reactivating them in small numbers. Still not sure what was causing the issue as I have not reactivated all of the mods. Here is a list of what is still deactivated in case it helps someone...

- Creature framework

- Fnis creature pack

- A bunch of old clothing/armor mods (Merta, Sotteta, Gwelda, google it) that need "HDT high heel beta"

- HDT high heel beta

- Simple slavery plus with the "without devious framework" patch

Come to think of it, it might just be a load order problem, the mod is now a lot earlier in my load order than before.

 

Aaaanyway. I learned about the chain beasts, got captured, put into some ZAZ things, got free, and are to "contemplate" about the experience. No clue how to continue, will it update by itself or do I have to do something?

I got an idea for a new feature.

 

How about something like Immersive Pet Girl where you would be forced into a crawling state by a chainbeast locking on the Character for a surtain amount of time. The Character would not be able to do much other than eat, have sex or some minor things. After the chainbeast let go of the character (or the character found a way to get rid of it), you would get your items returned and would continue as usual.

can someone guide me i updated the mod the mcm menu is ok but the stuf for the mod like the riverwood eggs the golden egg at solitude palace are gone i tryed the dragonborn versnio still nothing its like the mod doesnt want to work even the mcm menu shows up

if there the things floating on chains then yes there the ones im on about i thought they was called eggs XD for some reason there not showing up also Pinepeak Cavern has a new inhabitant with some tricks up his sleeve.  i go there but it only has 2 bears 1 outside and 1 inside

what is that Nier Automata mod in the list? is it a follower? I've been trying to find a 2B follower mod compatible with Special Edition for weeks, could you please post a link to download that mod? the search has driven me to the edge of madness.
