I installed 0.3.0 and noticed my papyrus log spammed with missing file errors, were these forgotten or intentionally removed?

And third: when captured I forced to crawl to furniture, but when I get there I just sit infront of it and nothing happens. I remember it working before but I don't know why it doesn't now or whan I did wrong.

Thanks for reporting this; these scripts seem to have been missed when packing the BSA.  Not sure how that could have happened (similarly named scripts are included so I did not mess up on the search term...) but it did.   The missing scripts may explain other bugs like the one mentioned by Yukitemi and

Schalli1980 and likely experienced by all that tried this version...  I will pack up the missing scripts (it looks like I have not changed these in the mean time hopefully I've managed to get all of them) and put them up on the download page.

FNIS is spitting out animation not supported in SE warnings for 0.3.0.

Meshes\actors\character\animations\SkyrimChainBeasts

The 0.3.0 animations(68) are older than the 0.2.8 animations(72).  So 4 missing in 0.3.0 as well.

Also the one in Meshes\actors\character\behaviors is older.

Also on 0.3.0 no facgen folder? Meshes\actors\character\FaceGenData

Okay maybe I missed something but, how exactly is the "Destroy a Mine" spell supposed to work? I tried using it and it appeared to cast an effect on my character, not on the mine, and nothing happened. Is it supposed to work on any mine? Or just certain ones? The ones I tried were in Riverwood.

Okay answered my own questions. It IS for just certain mines, and with that straightened out the answer to my first question became known.

Rather like this!.  Works pretty well on the whole.  Quick query, tho'

 

My PC was in the hands of the beast, a golden one, capture nr road junction, Whiterun approach/rd running from H/Brew Meadery <> West Watchtower and beyond

 

Assumed it was taking PC to Dragonsreach Dungeon for a jail sentence.  Thro' Whiterun door OK and then there was an intervention from Sexlab Survival, wher4e the Toll Guards wanted to restrain the PC on entry.  OK, armbinder equipped and non visible, beast out fit still visible, and PC started to walk to Dragonsreach (the beast efectively walking on its hind legs LOL)

 

Things started to get a bit sticky going from the Gildergreen up the next steps.  Tried a few times with varying outcomes, incl

 

  • getting all the way to the Dragonsreach door, but tried to shuffle off to the left into the brazier there.  Could never activate the door manually as the activation option was always too quickly gone to react to
  •  
  • getting all the way to the Dragonsreach door, tried to shuffle off to the left. and then landing up in the water, and drowning
  •

Once delivered to the Jail it's all vanilla again, you should have control again - if not it is likely another mod trying (but failing) to do something that was delayed until the crawl quest was finished.

 

Pathing; yes that is a general problem in the game; if you know where you are going; likely a spot just outside the jail in this case, you can help by taking control at points where the PC gets stuck.

 

Skyswimming lol.

 

Edit: Found the cause of the issue with pathing to the whiterun jail; oddly located vanilla marker.  Added an alternate marker that hopefully solves the issue.

I have a question.  I've noticed this mod doesn't work all that well with custom races.  Are there any plans to improve compatibility or should I just stick to vanilla races?  I have several custom races I use (my favorite is the succubus race), but none of them seem compatible so far.

For the player, any custom race should basically work. For NPCs only playable races.  I did a quick test with Succubus race and the basic capture seems to work. (At least in human form, did not test anything fancy.)  It did use the wrong mask model.  The attached plugin addresses this at the cost of not having custom mask models for any races; all will use the standard mask model (may give some clipping for beast races).  I don't see a way to control the displayed armor version (addons) for custom races. However, it should be possible to simply have different armors for different races and choose which to equip based on the victims race...added to my ideas list.

Yes, a clean save is needed; I changed quite a few things, including properties on the core quest which likely will not be set correctly without a clean save.

When you say standard, ypu mean for zaz too.  And that beast races won't have any masks, or that all the masks will look like those beast masks (the cages over the mouth)?

 

Because if it's the former you've solved one of my biggest issues.  I never play beast races but for some reason Succubus race uses the beast masks.

The plugin above only addresses the SCB mask, not zaz devices.

For the beast races the SCB mask will likely not show at all-though I could adjust that to use the same model as all other races; but not the custom `cage over mouth' normally used for beast races.

The gags have different models, meant for different races. For custom races one of these is used (I'm not sure how that is selected however). What I did was simply remove the alternatives so there is only one to choose from. It is a really dirty hack; clean approach would seem to be to define the race (eg in esm) and use a plugin to set compatibility of the relevant armor addon.

It is simple enough to do this hack also for the zaz gags; simply delete the fallback armors addons from the relevant zbf gags.  I've attached a plugin that I quickly put together (without any testing) does exactly that. - Same trade-off; no or not well fitting model for the beast races.  All, including custom races, will be forces to use the standard (non-beast race) gag model or none at all.

Just add the esp to your data folder and enable it. Requires ZAZ (made for v7, may work with other versions but if those introduce other gags those will not be covered.)

No the male armors should also come in the same variations as the female armor. 

There is an issue with `wild' beasts (the random encounter ones that need to be enabled in the MCM-plugin-options);

these will only equip default version (but that applies to both male and female). I have fixed this in my working version.

something i noticed even on a new game, after the last update occasionally the stuggle keys would stop working, was very rare when it would happen, and would usually fix itself if you reloaded.  but it does happen.

 

have you thought of making a chain beast based on the saber cat, and use that as the fast crawl chain beast?

I did update the mechanism to take more keys into account so it is possible I messed up something there but I have not encountered this yet. Before I go bug chasing; there are some restrictions to struggling - for example, there is some minimum time between two struggle session (I think is was 5 sec) and struggling is only possible while under the control of a beast.  Before mounting or after release (but still moving to destination) struggling does not work.  (Also, if you change your key mapping you may need to reset keys through the debug MCM page.)  If these do not cover it; do you have a log - are there related errors (look for SCB_) in the papyrus?.log (not the info messages eg about the MCM/animations being registered) , or does User/SCBLog?.log show anything unexpected?

 

Saber cat chainbeast - I looked at the different beasts but only made chain versions for the ones that looked like they would give the most interesting results based on the skeleton they use (building a beast mesh for a new skeleton is a pain). The saber cat skeleton is structurally not all that different from the wolf one so that did not make my list.  So yes I though about it :wink: but it did not do it.
