You can get the 2.0.17 version of SKSE64 here. Current build for SKSE is 2.0.17. and I checked SE property version and it says product version 1.5.97 so do I need to go back to an older version for the base game so SKSE works or? But I have a more serious problem where SKSE doesn't even boot up at all, it just crashes when I launch SKSE. Maybe I'm missing a file somewhere that I need to do first for SKSE to boot up? They did mention a skse.ini or something but I don't see it.

They did mention a skse.ini or something but I don't see it. If you crash before the initial game menu, you could have one or more of the following: old/incompatible SKSE64 DLLs (for an earlier SKSE64/SSE version) missing masters an Oldrim mod that has an unconverted BSA. The BSA format changed between LE/SE, so those mods need to have the BSA rebuilt or just expanded into loose files. Oldrim DLL's shouldn't cause any issues because they won't load due to the differences in 32/64 bit SKSE architecture. The mod that depends on the DLL might be a different situation. Make sure all your mods, especially those that have DLL's, are up to date and compatible with 2.0.17 of SKSE64 (or use meh321's SKSE64 compatibility library, which you'll also need to install). Look at your log files for more clues. You can install the .NET Script Framework to get some useful crash/stack trace data from its logs. 1

BLANK4 Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 I tried to install the Beta 8 SE version, but whenever i open Skyrim it continues to tell me i need the Oldrim version (1.9.32). I tried deleting the previous versions and downloading it again but it continues to tell me its the wrong version
Darkflip95 Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 So my issues with SL are still ongoing. At first I thought it was just creature animations that could be the problem, but last night my character was animated in the animation while the troll was completely still. And I also tested it out with a human NPC, and both the NPC and my PC were just standing there while sounds were playing. So... I'm not sure what to do here. Should I just reinstall Sexlab completely? I've also noticed that Sexlab Framework is overwriting Papyrus Util, maybe that could be the issue?
CrackerJack88 Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Im at a complete loss when it comes to the expressions for this mod. I installed sexlab during a test playthrough to get all my mods running smoothly. Sexlab loaded up fine, all animations worked perfectly, all other mods where running smooth. all except for one thing, i was getting facial expressions but facial animations was doing the mouth clipping thing. I was able to fix this by looking through this thread and found Janbui's fix for it (the sslBaseVoice.pex file)! and boom, everything was working perfectly.... until i noticed at the end of an animation, my characters face stayed stuck in the last expression played in animation. I used MFG Fix to get her expression back to normal and thats when things got weird. Now sexlab no longer applies expressions to my character... at all! But after the animation is over and she is out of sexlab scene, she will have a sexlab facial expression stuck on her face. MFG Fix no longer works and i could not figure out how to fix this. So i started a new game with fresh install of sexlab and now im no longer getting any expressions at all. now only after animation does it apply an expression! Has anyone run into this issue, and or know how to fix. i have tried everything i can think of to the point of hair pulling! Its like sexlabs expressions are now permanently broken for me.

No of course not, I downloaded the "SexLab SE Beta 8 Full Download" thing, and installed it into Skyrim SE in Mod Organizer but when I run Skyrim SE, it gives me an error message from the SexLab mod saying it requires the latest Oldrim version (1.9.32), so the SexLab download is janky for me for some reason.

Clearly, you have somehow mistakenly installed Oldrim SexLab. There is no way that SexLab Framework 1.63 Beta x (i.e. any of the SSE versions of SexLab Framework) would pop a message asking for version 1.9.32 of the game (Oldrim).
silvercrown5150 Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Is there a way to make this compatible with mfg facial expression mods without disabling the facial animations in SexLab? ie female facial animations by nao4288 or Niroku's Expressive Facial Animations?

Well, what do you mean by "compatible with"? It's not like an actor can have two facial expressions active at once, so either your mod manages expressions or SexLab manages expressions (during scenes). Compatibility to you sounds like it means you want SexLab to be aware of the other mod(s)'s behaviors, or vice versa, and that means somebody has to write either patches or a whole new mod to manage both at once.

Ok so i did some testing and sexlab was applying the expressions and lip sync with fix to NPC's, but not for my PC. I have no idea why. I just made another clean reset with fresh installs yet again.... and this time it fixed itself. everything is working now. I have been playing around with it and so far I cannot replicate what i did wrong. Either I stumbled on a random bug with sexlab or MFG fix. But it was so crazy, i would only get an expression after a scene and i couldn't remove it with MFG Fix. If anyone encounters this bug. the only fix i know that works is a complete reset, Which will upset people in mid playthrough or late game characters. However for me it was only expressions, so if you can live without them then your good! But me... i like a lil immersion!

Been using Vortex but I hear there are others and probably better then Vortex. Although even if I update and convert mods and still doesn't work, I might as well test smaller amounts of mods and see why it's crashing.
devilshit Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 So uh this might be a noob question but is the setup procedure for this the same as the light version or am I supposed to do something differently?

MO2 has a vocal (and often elitist) following. If you want to get a flame war started, just try saying "Mod Manager x is better than MO2" or "I tried MO2 once and it was way too difficult to learn or use so I use Mod Manager x and I'm happy with it." The thread will end up having to be locked by an admin. The issue of which mod manager to use comes down to personal preference. Vortex and MO2 both offer "virtual installs" with Profiles support and tools integration. However, many people still use NMM and it does a good job (with less flexibility and fewer features) for many casual gamers. All 3 are reliable mod managers. Personally, I have found Vortex to be stone-reliable, feature-rich and trouble-free... and easy (intuitive) to learn and use. I transitioned from NMM to Vortex mid-playthrough without a hitch after only a few minutes of reading the Vortex documentation. I currently have 298 active mods and even learned how to have Vortex install SKSE64 including the dll's, the exe and the scripts. It integrates well (and easily) with FNIS, BodySlide, SSEEdit, Wrye Bash, etc. And it offers pushbutton installations from the Nexus, and drag-n-drop installations of downloaded archives from other sites such as LoversLab. It is aware of, and will warn you about, Missing Masters, plus it makes conflict resolution a snap, including drilling all the way down to the file level if you need to, so you can give Mod A's File 1 override priority over Mod B's File 1, while at the same time giving Mod B's File 4 priority over Mod A's File 4 and so forth. If you're having a particular issue with Vortex, you can get help on the Vortex forums. Otherwise, I can't see any reason not to have full confidence in it. 3

Just drag-n-drop the downloaded 7z archive into Vortex or MO2 and click "Install." You will also need Matchmaker (the Oldrim version works in SSE without any conversion). Be sure to run GenerateFNISforUsers.exe after installing SL. Test the Matchmaker spells in-game to make sure everything works, then install whichever other SL-related mods you want. @tasairis maintains an extensive list of SL-rlated mods you might enjoy. 1

I'm still learning how to use Vortex, I do like this mod manager and I'm glad to know it's working well even with special edition. I just gotta figure out how to get mine to work well with special edition, I'll just start out small. I'm missing a few important steps anyway. Most of the mods I downloaded say their for SSE but they might not be fully converted, so I'll have to do some checking for awhile of all the mods I want to use. Got around 180 less mods then what your using but it'll still take me awhile, although Vortex does tell me if there is a problem in the plugins so that makes it easier. EDIT: found all the problems and now SKSE is booting up normally.

"Install x after y" is a euphemism, a holdover from the bad old days when we actually overwrote files in the data\<subfolders> folders (old NMM, manual installations, etc.) instead of just giving them priority like we can now in MO2 and Vortex.
