Dan94Aus Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Just something I was musing on the other day. I check out a few forums, though rarely comment, and I was just thinking, why? I suppose I should start by saying I found LL completely at random and started curiously checking it out (I think I just wanted more realistic NPCs in Skyrim or something). I'm not the kind of guy who is into massive tits on video game characters, or sharing my favourite hentai pictures, or women with penises, or anything like that. So I was thinking, why do I hang out here? And I think I've found the answer. It's the same way I feel about Lady Gaga. I like something here or there, but for the most part she's not for me, but I fucking love that she exists for the people that she is for. Because this community is so accepting and genuine and just lovably awkward and weird that even though I don't think I really fit in, I feel like I do? I'm glad that all you people out there exist and that you have a place like this. No, I don't have any major kinks, I'm not particularly proficient at modding, but everybody here is so supportive and accepting that it kind of makes me feel okay with myself, and sexually-speaking that's a very important and liberating thing that I think a lot of people take for granted. So thanks guys, and I'm sorry for going on about myself, but I want you guys to share what makes you feel proud to be a part of this community too And I'm sorry if I did offend what anybody is into, I was just playing it up for comedic effect
visby Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 And we have the moderators to thank for keeping the site on that track. In the abusive hell that is the internet it's nice to have a few safe havens.
Pkatt Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 1st sentence of the second paragraph sums it up perfectly.
Sarge Misfit Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 The open-mindedness coupled with the creativity and quality of the modders work.
meme supreme Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Everyone seems so supportive that it looks like the mods are there as decoration. Even when someone is an asshole, the mods shut them down without resorting to their mod powers, like banning or deleting posts. It's nice to have a community where people's first instincts aren't to silence eachother.
Ashal Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 For the few personal people I've told what kind of website I happen to run here... The first thing I mention after explaining what the hell a "mod" is and how important they can be to a game like Skyrim/Oblivion/Fallout... Is how much the community prides itself on not kink shaming. We are all here because we have a niche fetish of some sort or another. But that remains irrelevant for the site as a whole, we like what we like, and the community itself either builds on or accepts that. The finer details don't matter otherwise. As an antithesis of this though... I cannot understand the site's seemingly default, and unearned, hatred of The Nexus.
Kimy Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 As an antithesis of this though... I cannot understand the site's seemingly default, and unearned, hatred of The Nexus. I suppose it's a leftover from the time when Nexus would ban people left and right for even mentioning LL there (in the harshness they did it, it felt unfair). Since this has been remedied now, there is indeed little reason to continue with old grudges, but this sort of feelings die hard, so it will take time.
Vault77Dweller Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Because the people around here are pretty tolerant of others and their kinks. Unlike some other websites that merely hold up such an illusion *stares at Tumblr intensively*
GrimReaper Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 As an antithesis of this though... I cannot understand the site's seemingly default, and unearned, hatred of The Nexus. Because the Nexus has a pretty big ban record and LL being the only other big modding site related to The Elder Scrolls a lot of rejects ended up here. Naturally a lot of these people don't like the Nexus very much, doesn't matter if the ban was justified or not because in the eyes of the people that got banned, all the fault lies in the hands of the Nexus staff. It wasn't like that at wolflore or hongfire. The original community that migrated eventually from there to the then newly founded Lab was pretty chill tbh.
DoctaSax Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 It wasn't like that at wolflore or hongfire. The original community that migrated eventually from there to the then newly founded Lab was pretty chill tbh. I like to think things have turned back to being pretty chill nowadays. Besides, negativity viz Nexus has always been the domain of a vocal minority, not the entire site.
Zor2k13 Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 Nexus wants all the ad money and you guys are getting some of it so they no likey.
Veniat Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 The people in the community, I think for me. I love being able to talk about pretty much anything without feeling too restricted, it feels more open beyond just accepting kinks and stuff like that. I rarely see any aggressive attitudes, and when I do it's usually from someone with very few posts. I'm not into any of the more extreme kinks that many are into, so it's definitely just the welcoming attitude almost everyone has on here. It's the only community where I've never been yelled at, or criticized, for rambling or forgetting things.
Carabosse Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 Those people who take time to leave positive and/or constructive comments in mod topics or via private message. They're all that is best about this beautiful community.
Yuni Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 The lack of judgement in this community. The one thing I've always loved about pornography in general, as a member of the Furry community, is a lack of judgement. Everything can be a fetish, and there's nothing WRONG with that. As long as that fetish happens in the pretend universe of porn games, role play, or art, there's no real harm to it. So many people in so many places panic and throw their fists up in rage at the slightest mention of some of the harder fetishes here, but all it is, is fantasy fulfillment in a safe way that harms no one. It's outrage like the media has that forces places like F-list to seek alternate funding sources because the Visa network won't let people use Visa cards with their business -- I'm not kidding, unless F-list removes any form of nonconsent from their fetish lists, Visa blacklists them. Paypal too. Here? Defeat, Naked Dungeons, and more. Cheers, all.
Krasovskiy Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 This community is what made me stay at LL since day one of finding it. I am yet to find a community that comes close to the friendliness of people here and as hard working as Ashal and the mods. I have met a few bad apples here but the good to bad ratio is way higher than any other forum I've been a part of.
oFrenzy Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 I'm just glad there are other pervs out there
dnoah Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 @Dan94Aus. Probably because humans in fringe communities tend to channel what they would normally use for flaming, negativity, etc. I was amazed by it about 15 years ago when I've hit some skydivers' forum. Apparently, if you have a huge outlet in form of adrenaline/testosterone/whatever rush, being an asshole becomes a lot less gratifying. Not sure if LL really qualifies as "fringe", still, it's a bit more fringe than Nexus or whatnot.
Deman40 Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 I was a member of Adult Game Mods when it was shut down and then became Wolflore and was there from the beginning as a mod reviewer before You Tube reviews became popular.I had the honor at AGM to be able to interact with some of the best modders in The Elder Scrolls.I really missed that and was overjoyed when I discovered LL.The community is only as good as the Admins and moderators are.By allowing almost an unlimited amount of content, taste, and fetishes has truly made this a thriving community. The feedback, support and constructive criticism of the community, to the mostly receptive talented modders make this a truly unique site.Cheers!
arpaschad Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 What makes you happy to be a part of Loverslab? 1. THE only place to get TRUE adult mods for skyrim, fallout etc. 2. for a forum of this kind (if the only one of its kind) it has more maturity and democracy than the mainstream modding forums out there... 3. less a-holes than the ones usually found in youtube comments or in aforementioned mainstream modding forums... 4. It makes me moister than an oyster...and I'm a guy... 5. The moderators...
Frozium Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 Well, honestly, I haven't found a single user criticizing other user's tastes and they even encourage to be the way we should be. Everyone here is a lovely person always willing to help you, and I'm not only talking about mod problems (I once saw a thread about a guy asking for motivation to not commit suicide and some users spent the entire day on that thread only to encourage the suicide user to continue with his/her life (if that isn't caring for others, I don't know what it is). Everyone is happy to share their opinions about different subjects, ranging from favourite skyrim mods to things you like in real life or even deeper tastes I'm sure you would only tell to someone you trust a lot in real life. TL;DR: LL has the LEAST toxic community in all the internet. Thank you all for exist
Blackhearted Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 I like the spicy! That and not a lot of places you can go admit you're what mainstream society calls a pervert and not be ostracized and ridiculed, at least not until the haters crash the forums but they just don't have the numbers to gang up on people here. Usually it's the other way around.
NickNozownik Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 I can post about anything I want without stupid restrictions like "don't swear because kids might be reading this", and people here are mostly cool.
MsOtaku Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 The community. One can freely make a comment or ask a question without being judged. I love how members of LL are very eager to help solve your modding or gaming problems and even if they can't, they give as many suggestions as they can and always wish you the best of luck in getting things up an running again. The mods are amazing and the topics of discussion people start to get us all involved to share our thoughts and comment in are just wonderful. I love LL. xoxo
Bazinga Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 I'm not sure if I buy into all the warm and fuzzy feelings some of you associate with this community. Sure, here you don't get the judgemental repressed assholes which is a huge bonus. But since sex never was and never will be the most important thing in my life I'm not overly impressed. We all got fetishes and most of us are open-minded enough about them to live and let live. That's great. But there are much more important things in this world. And you can't really discuss them here, politics for example is basically off-limits. Might be wise given the way people with opposing world views tend to treat each other right now (maybe they always did, but was there always so much hate?) but it's also a shame and keeps this from being more than a gaming community in my book. I come here for the great mods and all the modding related knowledge and to make my own mods and release them. And yes, I'm happy that this is possible on this platform. But that's about it.
Janius Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Here we can talk without prejudice, without being judged, Also this is a site for adult moding and here is not expected to come a moralist saying "%$#$ perverts" this is a mature community, we can share opinions, discuss likes, what we like in a game, ask for support and give you a hand, thats why i'm happy in LL.
