How dare you not like New Vegas. How dare you, sir!

Agreed!  Blasphemy!!!🤣

But to be fair trying to get the game to play with a degree of stability is a task in itself, especially if you're using TTW mod.  You have to download 6 to 7 mods JUST to stabilize it to be playable and even then you have to have a mild experience in Notepad++ to deal with the INI files to make the game stable.  Bethesda really should have shown FONV more love because for me technically I think its superior for Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 combined.  It actually has IP lore to back it.

If you are eating or about to, you probably shouldn't read this.

So, today at work I took two of the foulest dumps in memory, and I was just thinking. What could possibly account for the potency of the smell? Then it occurred to me that last night, before I went to bed, I had eaten these "everything bagel" bagel chips; they were quite good, it was like eating flat croutons or something, and each were about the size of a half dollar coin, but I had eaten maybe, 30 of them, and I realized that was probably the reason I was making piles that could power a battleship.

Has anyone else here had an experience like that?

Sir is such a boomer thing to say. Either that or something you'd hear at a renaissance fair. "Let me introduce our lord Sir Twinkle Bottoms and his lady Madame Tight Knickers."

Boomer thing or military thing, a lot of people who were in the military keep living and speaking that way after they have left. I think it goes away over time though, for some people anyway.

No argument on what it takes to get NV "modernized" (I don't use TTW).

Focusing on my ironic use of the word "sir?" How dare you, sir, how dare you!

After scouring the internet for a bit I learned that not only is it a term for English nobility(I thought Americans got away from that) but apparently it started out as Sire derived from the French word "Sieur" (Lord), brought to England by the French-speaking Normans.

Nowadays things like Sir and Miss are just something people use to ask for money. Well I ain't nobility and you ain't Tiny Tim so go fuck yourself! Shouldn't be giving money to Panhandlers anyway. A local charity would be better.

I'm getting ahead of myself. Why the military keeps doing it I can only guess. They have a strict hierarchy in place so soldiers with little to no experience are less likely to disobey orders.

I always assumed it was to show respect, the same way soldiers salute the rank of another soldier. I know the military tries to focus on getting soldiers into a uniform mindset that is good for cooperation.

Not strictly true. Sir is part of a title such as a knight of the realm, e.g. Sir Francis Drake, Sir Isaac Newton. Different ranks of nobility are addressed differently.

Sir (and Madam) are used in formal English, e.g Dear Sir or Madam.

Sir is also used informerly and colloquially.

In the British Army soldiers do not salute the rank of another soldier, they salute the crown on the officers cap.

We have manners in the UK so we say "Thank you, sir" if somebody hold a door for you or "After you, sir" if you hold the door for them.

This is the part where people generally say “(insert proper noun or pronoun) doesn’t want to fuck you!” Opening doors for people is just common courtesy. Anyway I’m done talking about this. How about you?

The more I think about it, the more I come to believe that me having like zero money in my early twenties was for the best. Not because it hardened me or made me a rugged individual that thrives when he’s struggling, but because I was absolutely the type that would’ve blown my cash on tattoos of pot leaves and satanic symbols. I may look more boring, but I also look a helluva lot more employable.

Last I saw of it there was ear shattering shrieks during gameplay videos. Hopefully they toned that down a bit.

Have'nt visited in a long time I know. I am almost quite literally insane at this junction of my (very) weird life.
But I swear beyond all illusions and cheap tricks, there is actually magic in life. You will know... and never talk about it because you simply don't know how to describe it. We live in very strange times.

Either you are going to make a child very happy or your surgeon very disappointed. Or maybe you're a pyro main:

done both I suspect. But way to cheapen the experience.

Sometimes people oversimplify life and get annoyed when things don't go their way. Just keep your head about ya and you'll do fine.

Saw a few videos showcasing Doom: The Dark Ages’s gameplay the other day and I have some thoughts. The flow of the game looks a lot more slowed down than the previous two titles (especially Eternal), and it looks like the scale of the stages you play through have gotten way bigger. The addition of the chainshield also makes it seem less run-n-gun since there’s more emphasis on parrying and bashing through everything rather than charging around the arenas and blasting everything with all your guns. The dev said that they wanted the Slayer to more like a tank, and it looks like they delivered.

That said, I do kinda miss the glory kills, and getting used to the slower pace might be kinda tough. What little I saw of the dragon sections seemed kinda lackluster as well. It looks cool, but doesn’t look all that fun.

I will say this, I’m glad that Id Software has made each of the newer Doom games feel unique and that they’ve tried something new with each entry. They’ve kept the core gameplay the same (run around and shoot demons while making full use of your arsenal) while giving each game its own identity and feel so that it doesn’t feel like I’m just playing the same game but with different graphics.

Looking forward to it.

In my experience glory kills kind of slows down gameplay. Less so if you have certain runes equipped. If you think about it glory kills are just cinematic cutscenes. I am not opposed to them as they provide a nice 5 second break on higher difficulties.

I may have to get a beefy new graphics card just to play the new Doom.

Pretty sure throughout human existence, people have said "We live in strange times."

I get that. Glory kills really come in handy when I need health and a breather during fights, but I've also had times where I would get hit right after doing one. Also, having glory kill animations for every single enemy in a game where you'll be plowing through giant hordes of fodder would probably get tiresome.
