I had her running around with a whip. She kept picking up other weapons. I took a battle axe, 4 daggers, and a hand axe from her throughout the course of a dungeon.

Hey, loving the Follower, and using the compatibility patch for SexLab :D everything's working great! However, 2 things just happened; one had me cracking up and honestly, doesn't even bother me lol. The second thing doesn't bother me at all because I simply do not use the house to begin with, but here:

 

NOTE: I'm not 100% sure if what's happening is because of this mod, it sounds logical to me but could be wrong, if so, apologies :)

 

-Lydia has not only lost her original dialog options to talk about what a Thane is and what not, but now almost every time she greets me, it's as if the "Throw voice" shout was being triggered from her every time she greets lol... For example, when I activate her or just walk nearby, she says things like "Hey troll face!", which again... this had me cracking up for a solid 10 minutes :P The weird thing though is that I'm sure it's lines from the Throw/Fool voice shout, and it's the same voice and the voice has the same echo-y effects as well

 

-I'm aware that the mod makes it so BreezeHome is no longer Key-Locked, which is fine... but the Jarl's Stewart doesn't sell furniture anymore.

 

Again, none of those things bug me really, and not sure if it's this mod's doing (specially the first thing with Lydia), but I figured I'd throw them in here :)

 

Looking forward for the Follower Overhaul mods compatibility updates!

About Lydia - I noticed she was changed somehow in the alicia.esp file. That probably happened during my experiments. I removed that change. Hopefully that will fix it.

 

About the house- I will try that out once I am done with her follower behavior. An easy option would be to just keep the house locked and make you earn access to Alicia :) I could also just move the entrance elsewhere to make it safer for Breezehome customization. I need to think about a good location.

@skyrimll: Ah okay, good to know I was right thinking of this mod lol. But yeah, those things don't really bother me, specially Breezehome as I don't use that house at all, but great to hear you're working on it :)

It would work really well if you could some how make Alicia a succubus with this mod maybe... Lady Lucretia - A Succubus Follower It would be cool if she could turn into a succubus in battle.

 

As long as it were an optional download and not part of the main mod, or an optional MCM setting, i'd have no problem with it.  But that being the main part of the mod would actually steer me away from this mod.  I have too much enjoyment watching her work her daggers in a fight to want to change that.   :P

 

 

I remember the mod stating that alicia was a gift from sanguine I see a succubus fitting in more so than a nord or any other race but what I meant was not changing what we got now just maybe adding the spells from the mod and keep all the voice acting and features just enhancing the mod if not I will give it a try and see if I can somehow merge the two though my modding skills arent that great I know a few things.

Here is what I added to her race description as a backstory:

 

"Once in a generation, Sanguine selects a special pet and sees that she is raised for his personal enjoyment. For reasons unknown, her name is always Alicia. She is the whore often depicted under Sanguine's thumb."

 

I see her as a human, specially selected by Sanguine and given to one of his human followers to raise to his 'specifications'. In that context, having her turn into a succubus would be a distraction (and frankly, beyond my capabilities at this point :) ).

 

That said, as long as you can create a succubus side of her as a separate race in its own esm file, and link the two mods through a quest, it should be possible to create an addon that will have her transform. It could be an intriguing modding exercise - just don't expect me to work on that anytime soon. My to-do list with Alicia is already more than  I can handle.

I am currently thinking about a more neutral location, maybe under a shrine or maybe even its own shrine somewhere.

 

(Wrapping the rest in spoilers in the unlikely event someone didn't know about the murder quest  :)

 

 

 

 

 

I also like the idea of Windhelm... maybe she was the one whispering in the murderer's ear :)

 

The murder room would be a good fit for the bloody note and the basement entrance. It would also be a good fit for a hidden shrine to Sanguine.

Get the last update (0.24) or wait for the upcoming one in a couple of days.

 

I removed the requirement for the Sanguine quest a while ago so you won't have to wait that long (I may add her to the Windhelm murder quest though.. looking into that).

She's now on my route of companion pickups when i start a new game.  Hit Riverwood for Cerwiden, then hit Whiterun for Khal Drogo, Vilja (not using her this save though), and now Alicia.  I cheat and console in Lara Croft (she's in the Sky(something) Temple of the main storyline) because I've done the main quest so many times, I try to avoid it as long as I can now.

I am working on a more direct way to get into the Windhelm house (or at least into the basement). I don't want to have to use the console or go through the same quest each time I test her :)

 

Her basement fits very well with the Windhelm house, so I think I will leave her there.

 

There will be an outside trapdoor to the basement, as well as a few notes from her to The Butcher scattered in interesting places. I like the idea of making her the back story behind the Butcher.Hopefully it will all fit together.

 

Right now, I am fixing the trapdoor to the basement. Apparently, I broke something when I moved it to Windhelm and she refuses to follow me outside the basement. I can go in and out though, so it is working... just not for her.

You could make an outside trap door so she could be reached without doing the butcher quest, and have another locked trapdoor in the basement that leads to Hjerim. That way she could be attained with or without the butcher quest and the basements placement there would not affect Hjerim.

Or you could modify her sandbox routines to come outside and go to the Tavern each night making it possible for you to pick her up there. That way you avoid the extra door and the locking problem.

I worked out a solution for the locking. It is going well.

 

My problem right now has to do with the dreaded navmesh apparently. She refuses to follow me through either trap door from inside the basement.

 

I have more reading to do on the CreationKit wiki.

@skyrimll - generally any door markers etc need to be touching the navmesh for NPC's to follow you out anywhere.

 

@all - to help with ingame bugs from anything and i honestly can't use Skyrim without this...

I have more reading to do on the CreationKit wiki.

 

 

You need to "finalize navmesh" on both sides of a load door and make sure that the triangles under the teleport markers are colored, indicating that the link is established.

If you make changes to a  load door, you need to repeat the finalize thing or the door will only work for the player. NPCs need the navmesh to be linked correctly.

 

If the door is locked, NPC must be the owner of the door, or a member of the owning faction. ( no need for the key in his inventory )

I dropped the door markers on top of the navmesh and made sure to run 'Finalize Navmesh of this cell' according to some suggestions I found.

 

Still no effect.

 

Thanks to AFT, I can summon her right next to me and she walks around just fine, so I don't think the navmesh is at fault.

 

She just ignores those two doors so far.

I noticed a difference between the first version from skyrimll and the latest one. Alicia has a different face texture now (also different face?).

 

Can I get back the old face easily with just replacing a texture or would I have to open the old version with the CK, export the face data and apply a different texture? I prefer the old face, tbh.

Thanks! There is a navmesh issue then. I get the colored triangle only on one out of the four markers.

Yeah... that's something I need to fix eventually.

Ah, ok. Thank's for the reply and I appreciate your effort to keep the companion mod updated and rolling. Really one of the best companion mods out there, in my opinion.

So I ended up giving her back her original face.

 

I saved the settings for my customized version but it requires doing the CTRL+F4 trick in CKEditor to render properly when you switch models, so I won't bother including it in the release.

 

I need to do a final test tonight before releasing her in the wild, so you have a few hours if you have any suggestion for anything easy to implement before I release the update.

 

She will have full follower support, a new home, and a few goodies as discussed in this thread.
