Which version did you download? (NB:- Top link in the download thread is for SE, not LE) 

If you get instant CTD usually due to either a mod requiring a dependency you don't have (a mod organizer should help you with that) or if you are using the maria quickstart, make sure you remove the Live another Life quickstart as they can conflict (although usually this just means you're just faced with a blank screen upon loading skyrim).

Should work fine. Assume your CTD is before the menu comes up? You could try running TES5Edit to see if it's missing an ESP (just run it, select all the mods and let it check), or if you had NMM you can easily see which mods are missing a dependency (highlighted in red). 

 

The 2.1.7 might not have all the dependencies for it to run, so take a look on page 1 of this thread, although be conscious how old this mod is.

Basically 2.5 has vanished from this thread, only 2.1 is available.

The very top link in the download is for SE only, and looks to be newer than those found within the SE thread, and is where you will find BDSMMechanics. I believe this BDSMMechanics does work with LE but use at your own risk.

I no longer get the option to "suggest something else" to the johns - is this normal in the 2.x.x versions?

It crashed when I press "Continue" or "load", not on game startup. I think I have all required mods, unless the "BDSMmechanics" is a standalone mod? I though it just ment a bondage mod in general.

If you're getting to the load screen then you probably have all the necessary mods. If you have quickstart loaded then clicking on New game should bring you quickly into game, if it's just a black screen then, in my experience, remove any other quick start mods (like the alternate mods).

 

Or if you have a load which starts you in the abandon prison you could try loading that and see if you can progress. 

 

A New game is probably where you need to head given the way ME affects the game.

I put all mods into one zip file now. MEP would not start without BDSMMechanics

if you found a save and are  getting as far as the abandon prison you 'should' be able to start a game (50/50). if still crashing, disable the live another live mods and install mariaquickstart (it's in the 2.1.7 package) and you should start in an alternative start cell and allow you to load game.

I did read it, and as far as I understood it WAS a standalone mod at some point, but then mod creator abandoned it in favour or other mods with bondage features. I do have Zap (I think version 8 instead of 7, but, might that the reason it crashes?).

BDSMMechanics was never intended to be a solo mod. It was an abstraction layer to allow creating nice locations without MEP dependency. The cell author @nameless701 does not maintain his locations for Skyrim SE and there will be no new locations , neither from him nor from anyone else.

Therefore i am now concentrating on using the vanilla locations with light modifications.

BDSMMechnics will be merged into MEP in near future. 

Use a mod manager like vortex which tells you what you are missing and move the MEP mods to the bottom of your load list
