It's always a good idea to put a few years of delay between you and the latest game you are excited about... Good for your mental health and for your wallet.

I have a Core i7-5820K with 16GB memory and a GTX 970, which I might upgrade with a second 970, this set up should keep me afloat for a while.

Prior to this, I had a crappy PC for 5 years, so I'm very happy about being able to play a brand new game with my current setup.

Plus, like it has been said before the requirements aren't insane, you can easily get above the graphics requirements with a $125 card and the processor for about $175; check daily for deals or just wait for black Friday/Cyber Monday.

Although, I would recommend just saving the money and buying a badass new computer all together, but with the holidays season approaching I would say you can buy a new PC which easily satisfies the system requirements for under $500 if you shop around for the best deal or you could just buy the parts and built yourself for a lot cheaper.

I agree, the minimum requirements hardware is years old, it's not like the minimum requirements are i7s and GTX 900 series cards.

I re-watched the e3 stuff again. Twice. Soooo awesome. I think I posted in a thread that got closed. I don't remember exactly what I said. I do know the gist was something like the following.

My brain exploded.

If I had a penis. It would be hard.

OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!

YESSSSSSSSSSSS!

whahaha :P If I had a vagina, I would be gliding from my chair :P

I may be going out on a limb here, but I'd wager sex mod immersion wasn't at top of their to-do list making this game. Besides, once people figure out how to either mute or re-voice the character, it shouldn't be too hard creating an alt start mod. God knows it's been done a million times by now.

It's character immersion in general. And yeah, the voice too. Hey guess what, you're American! Because we said so dammit! Even Saints Row gives you 3 accents to choose from. Revoicing from a mod standpoint is an overly large task. That FO3 follower that has a voice for the whole game took literal years. Oh and want to be gay/lesbian? Nope. You're bi at best and had a child. Though I did mention maybe you skip years and play as the kid at some point and this stuff is mostly moot.

Speaking of, not that it's something I use since it doesn't work with mods here but oh the hilarity of playable children races now.

Don't people get it that it's basically a story, like a book? Do people also complain that the main character in the book is a guy/gal? bi, hetero?

What's with all the hetero/bi hate anyway? That's why we have mods. There is probably going to be a mod that you could see two males, or two women standing in front of a mirror. and that the kid is a adopted/android.

And about it being American voices. Well, most probably they are American, seeing the time they live in, the majority of Americans, are well,,.. eh, American.

Also: They already took ages and a lot of money to have two voices with 13.000 lines.

Follower 'Piper' and hair physics.

The commentator covers a lot of this but these are things I noticed right off the bat:

Dynamic background.

An NPC with facial expressions and body language that match what she's saying.

Hair physics.

Looking at this it reminds me a WHOLE LOT of Witcher 2 and now Witcher 3.  For everything that Bethesda games lack, at least they have gotten off their asses and caught up (sorta) with the rest of the gaming market.  None of this stuff people are crowing about is new, it's just new for a Bethesda game.

Totally agree with what you're saying.  I'm more asking than saying, but I imagine that Bethesda has designed their games with the modding community in mind so that the designs have been able to easily modify and also cater to all platforms offered without taxing the limits of consoles or PCs.  It's like the process they talk about when the product is finished and how they have to butcher it until it meets the requirements.  With all these new features came new requirements in Fallout 4, yet before the game is out, the mention of the release of the Fallout 4 CK is talked about.

I think it's less about releasing a maximum potential product and more of an even ground item for the benefit of all.  I know games like even Dragon Age try to keep the feel of it's original game and take baby steps with each release making it a bit better in mechanics, graphics and such.  Bioware I don't think cares too much about the modding community though.  It still has to take into consideration some kids/adults aren't using the new consoles or beefed up PCs.

I've read a lot of comments posted around the net about Fallout 4 and it seems a big step in minimal requirements for some.  I think this is the main reason it takes time to add more complex features into games, especially the company that is well known for (and really the only one as far I'm concerned) it's mod friendliness.

Barely pass system recommended requirements with GPU and Ram except for CPU. Glad updated Graphic card while I had chance.. :s Game better come with schoolgirl hookers or something, requirement fucking ridiculous. :@

Looks like I won't be getting FO4.  I'm not buying new hardware just so I can play a broken fucking Bethesda game.  I'll spend my 60 bucks on something else.

I'm sure Bethesda try best optimize game for pc. Stare at PS4 or Xbox 1 30fps.. Why shit on low end gaming systems? :s

Well I guess this does confirm west coast is getting the game at 9:01pm through stream.

17th of December

Take that Japan, that's what you get for not being nice and sharing your games with the rest of the world.

Wondering btw, since it will be using same engine as Skyrim, does this mean mods could be relatively easily converted from Skyrim to Fallout4? Be it armor mods, framework mods, etc etc ...

I will be as easy to port stuff from Skyrim to FO4 as it is from Oblivion to FO3.

Looks like body customization in Fallout 4 will let you slide between three extremes (muscular, thin, fat) instead of two like in Skyrim (light, muscular). This is done by picking a point inside a triangle as opposed to adjusting a slider.
What this means for us modders is that we'll now have to create three versions for every armor and body. More work, but hopefully it will pay off with a more diverse game world.

But what I'm very interesed in is how this will manifest in sexy mods. In Skyrim a lot of the female body replacers tended to drop the thin->muscular extreme shapes in favour of nubile->voluptuous shapes. What will be the third element?

Alterations for the interface for customization is set to be easily changed in the new Creation Kit for F4.  Where Skyrim's CK had limitations put into it on purpose, they have decided to use a more optimized CK for F4.

1 Animations are NOT set with a fixed limit.

2 Script help is more readily available.

3 Modders who have had trouble in the past trying to set the variables for say new hairs, will find the new CK with pre set locations for body modifications ( one person in testing has even made a character with a " ghoul " arm to show his character with Rad Poisoning)

4 Weapon mods are VERY easy to do with the CK, base game interface already has a decent system for changing out weapon modifications and or looks of weapons.

They will be selecting some people for more CK testing AFTER release.  I have only got to watch some of this stuff due to an old military buddy let me watch him with the trial test of the CK he is helping with as a test.  Beth is being very close lipped with some of the newer functions of the CK.  I didn't get to see anything about armor creation, or character/animal models, only an arm texture alteration.

so now talking to people who have seen some of the leaked footage thats almost everywhere at this point (possibly also on pornhub cause why not. havent checked tough)

i have seen lots and lots of people giving tons of crap to this game how it looks and such. i didnt watch much of the leaked footage pretty much minium i needed to see what people were complaining about and as far as it goes some of the problems they said do exist with sometimes lipsync not working and such but we did see them working well in E3 which has made me wonder if its either that the game players were playing had random bug or is it more common (i only saw one part where lips didnt move at all and i have also seen it happen in skyrim and oblivion few times) or was it possible that bethesda was putting up bit more sweetened version of the game for the demo?

i have mostly believed bethesda to be semi trustworthy on what they show us in E3 or other larger show cases so i have my doubts little bit on bethesdas favour. last big presentation was in that what got also somewhat leaked and it was also done by bethesda this time being much more heavily on less cut gameplay which also makes me little curious on why would they if they did after all the titles they have released been lying/showing false footage this much?

i dont have the game yet (as its for many many others too) so im going to give my own opinion once i have put the least of 50 hours into the game. im not so much about animations/graphics myself for this game i know they are below average but how is the core gameplay is it fun and compared to some of their previous games like oblivion/skyrim/fallout 3/new vegas how does it hold up IF you leave all the nostalgia out of the question. i started my TES games with oblivion and cant understand why people would say oblivion was bad and morrowind better. my little brother started with skyrim and he cant understand how i say oblivon had many things better than in skyrim. i have played fallout 3 and new vegas through few times and got them both after 2013 or so so i guess im not so much moved by nostalgia.

in all ways i would say nostalgia is worst for the games like these. latest star wars battlefront wasnt bad game at all in my opinion but few of my friends said it was shit and they were people who had played older ones from the series. so thats why i would see why people would bash this game. only those who step into fallout series first time with fallout 4 can give good idea how the game is as a game and not as a fallout game. because thats what i want to know first.

If a bodyslide was made I think it would make sense it actually used the triangle-slider shown in the character customization video. In the start though I'm sure we'll see a lot of different body types and it just comes down to which ones become the most popular and supported.

The hairstyles shown are very much as I expected, they fit what people had in the 1950's but ofcourse more will be added through mods.

I'm still very curious about body physics for Fo4, I haven't watched much of the leaked footage yet, but I haven't seen any kind of engine in the game that would make boobs and butt jiggle ;)

Hair styles are interchangable.  They are making the CK where you can grab stuff from Skyrims CK ( harder to do with New Vegas because of the way that GECK worked) and make it usable for F4.

The words they used " an upgraded CK from Skyrim "  was not just words, they meant if in a more useful way.  Take for instance some of the hair styles for Skyrm, it will now be a lot easier to make say some Apachi hairs to fit the models in F4 then it will be to take hair styles from New Vegas into F4.

No " jiggle " as has been seen with say HDT in Skyrim.  But there ARE slight phyics in the base game.  Go frame by fram of some of the videos of explosions, you will see actual bodily impacts on character models.  Even someone wearing a vault suit showed an impact on the leg and both the suit and leg showed slight movement during the explosion.

Anyone else having a problem with the game unloading all mods on launch after the 1.2 update? How do I stop that shit? I've double-checked my .ini files twice to make sure bEnableFileSelection = 1.

They broke them, and very intentionally. Every time you start the game after this official patch, all mods are unloaded by the launcher.

At Nexus they worked out some VERY inconvenient workaround, involving starting the game through NMM, and then going back to NMM while the game (or the launcher, not sure which) is running, and reactivating mods while the game is running.

Let's just say, I'm not fond of such methods. It's inconvenient, and I'm rather worried about savegame corruption.

At the same time, I think Bethesda is shooting itself in the foot with this action. Mods were the only reason that Skyrim remained popular for as long as it did. It's a feature they should want enabled sooner rather than later, and if players can tweak at least conveniently mod their files, even if it's officially unsupported for now, then they can also create those mods. And if players can already make mods, then that means there's something to show for the minute Bethesda officially opens up modding. Without that option, modders will leave, some might come back once Beth officially allows mods, but it'll take a while before there's anything interesting to show.

Yeah, like what the hell? But still, I always try to think of the reasons behind such decisions, I try to understand all the parties.

One idea is they may still want to get some bug testing and rebalancing done until their DLC starts rolling in, and some mods affecting gameplay might interfere with that.

My second guess is that there is perhaps a certain dissatisfaction with the modding community. Just try to think what the first things made were: texture optimizations, scratch made textures, and nude female textures. Now, Todd H. stated that he and his team are very opposed to that kind of explicit show in their games, and it's their game, so we have no right to complain about that. But barring all mods because of some personal dislike would indeed be a very dumb way to shoot oneself into one's foot. Taking the importance of mods for Bethgame success, this is like a shot in the foot with a shotgun.

I'm betting on the former thought, though.

In the mean time, I'll download the slav squat mod for The Witcher 3 so I can properly release the сука блядь that has built up in me

What will be the third element?

Muscular so we can have Amazonian waifus.

Or we can separate the shape of the breasts from the butt's shape
