Contessa Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Not liking this rumor of a Male-Only Main Character. So I don't want that.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Sweetie, it's not going to happen. It's a certainty they will not go down that route.
RapidWaterOver Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Not liking this rumor of a Male-Only Main Character. So I don't want that. Where did you see this? I can't see this happening as all Elder Scrolls and Fallout games made by Beth have given the option to choose a sex.

TheOzoneHole Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 What was wrong with Little Lamplight? it was kinda fun. Honestly the biggest thing I want is for modders to lighten up and stop caring about what other gamers want to add to their games. Yes, to each their own; but the real problem with Lamplight was that there was no real option to be a total a$$hole with the kiddies. Without mods you can't just walk in a blow the twerps' heads off or force your way through. You have to do the quest to get in, no options, no alternates. Being an evil klepto nutball was easy in FO3, in many ways easier than playing the nice guy. But even the evil nutballs have to play the nice guy with Lamplight. All the other settlements there is the possibility to kill or force your way in, and the problem was that Lamplight was a requirement for the main story. I know I'm weird, but sometimes I actually like seeing certain bugs in these games. Oblivion's were hilarious. A lantern that bounces around the room. A hand that appears stuck in the middle of a road, waving around. A guard that died, then came back to life, can be greeted but just sort of.... stares at you creepily. Ideally, there won't be any bugs. Game breaking bugs suck, sure. CTD's really suck, and I hate them. Bugged quests suck. And bugs break immersion, sure. But man, I love certain glitches sometimes. As for the intro scene, I wouldn't mind an option to skip it, but I'd still like there to be one. Or hell, be several you can choose from. Like LAL but with an actual intro for some choices, and no intro for others. "You are: A Vault Dweller! A Raider! A Courier! A Traveler! A Bodyguard! A Scientist!" This probably won't happen because they need that pipboy to be canonical, but it'd still be great. I also want co-op gameplay. A simple option to jump into a friends game would be great, they don't need to go all out or worry about balance. Anyway, things I don't want to see. - Driveable Vehicles... As much as I loved Mad Max, and as much as it got me pumped for a Mad Max video game, I'll just go play Borderlands until one comes out. (inb4 mods, which I'm fine with.) - Low Populations... Sometimes I feel like the bandits/raiders/human enemies outnumber the peaceful townsfolk/allies 1000 to 1. - The Inability to Create Animation Mods... Come on, we should not have had to wait until FORE made his workaround for Skyrim. - A Bioware Dialogue Tree... I'm happy choosing between a list of choices thanks. Make more choices if anything. I like Bioware, but don't copy them. - Lifeless Companions... Enough said there, I echo everything everyone has said so far. - All People Having the Same General Bodytype... Give me some variety. Fat people, short people, crippled people even. (I might be cheating with this one.) - The Inability to Knock on Doors... (I might be cheating with this one too, but still. I find it hard to believe you can't talk to an NPC just because they're inside their house at night.) Actually. Now I think I'm deviating into things I actually want to see. I think that part of the issue with the intro scene is that in both Oblivion and FO3 it made a hard save just before the final door and let you make changes at that point. Skyrim didn't do that and that was something that really pissed people, myself included, off when we first started Skyrim. Before I found LAL I had some specific saves made in Riverwood just for starting new games. This is something that I really want, I don't mind a 20-40 minute intro...the first time I play the game. It helps set the tone for the game and establishes character background, which are important things. Yes, Morrowind did the same and did it in a 2 minute cut scene, a 30 second conversation with Juib, and then a 5-10 minute bit of filling out what amounted to paperwork; and it worked brilliantly. Don't expect to see that again. Other things I DON'T want to see: - Forced companions; they are there to help when the game is overly hard, or when I want some eye candy or a groin buddy to follow me around after LL gets those mods going. Nothing more. I don't need some kind of quest or a Serana clone running after me providing totally useless yapping while I'm trying to sneak up on a Raider. As for the dog, I'm a cat person so the dang mutt can walk itself into a deathclaw nest for all I care. - The inability to skip dialogue, any dialogue, no matter how relevant to the main story. Beth isn't Bioware and shouldn't try to imitate them. The only thing I really didn't like about the first Mass Effect is that after the second time you play the game, the dialogue is old and you just want to get a move on. Same with a lot of the quests in Skyrim, the Daedric quests and main quest in particular. Doesn't matter how many times you've heard it, you still have to sit through the exposition every time. Other points: 1) Yes, NPCs having different body types would be great. It is highly unlikely as that would take extra time and effort on the part of Beth and they won't do that. 2) More dialogue; again it would be nice but it won't happen. Voice actors and recording cost $$$ and they won't do more of it than they feel they need for a minimum. Kind of like the random dialogue between NPCs. Just this evening I heard Festus Krex and Babette going on and Festus called Babette a "young pup". SHE IS 300 FREAKING YEARS OLD! THAT IS AT LEAST 200 YEARS OLDER THAN YOU FESTUS! Does that matter? No, it is a random conversation pre-recorded and played randomly. 3) Todd Howard. Seriously people, quit going on about him. He isn't going away. Remember, he is the spokesman for the studio, the public face. Yes, he has a lot of input into what goes on. He isn't the only one though. His job is to make the game in such a way that it makes MONEY. As long as Beth and Zenimax are making MONEY they really don't care if you like their employees. The only way he will disappear from BethSoft is if he finds a better job, or gets fired because the game doesn't make MONEY.

Not a certainty but it's still a possibility. It's in fact pretty similar to The Witcher 3. You will possibly be playing multiple characters in the game, a bit like GTA V maybe.
feral Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 One thing I don't want to see is the absence of a Desert Eagle.
Gameplayer Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Todd Howard must absolutely be in this game. Think of the possibilities people!
Luna_Natsume Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Thing's I DON'T want to see in FO4? Hrm... 1. Butt fugly character generation... it has always been my greatest pet peeve about Bethesda Games, but ESPECIALLY fallout games. All the character generation tools suck MASSIVE Deathclaw balls, for realizes. 2. Ape-ish animations... Just for ONCE I would like to see them put a TINY bit of effort into differentiating male/female animations and giving us a little variety. 3. Micro-map instances. The one genuine gripe I had with Fallout 3 was the stupid tunnels and downtown D.C.. I HATE ducking in a train tunnel for 3 min, then surfacing to another micro overworld map, then finding another tunnel... so on and so on. 4. Bad melee/unarmed combat. Melee and Unarmed (especially in VATS) has been REALLY lackluster, and I would just like to point out to Bethesda that you should be able to break someones arm, or nail someone in the head with a fucking lead pipe... not just a general 'body shot'. Also, while we are on the subject of hit location, could you actually make it IMPOSSIBLE to outright kill something just by blowing off a leg or an arm. If I saw off an arm with my machine gun, the damned ghoul REALLY SHOULD keep running at me... only slightly more bloody and a great deal more pissed off. If I huck a grenade at a group of slavers, I wanna see arms and legs flying all over the place... but just like in Saving Private Ryan, I wanna fucker to pick up him body part in shock and try to club me with it or something! People lose limbs in battle ALL THE TIME, but it doesn't stop them from trying to take you down before they die! ...b'sides, tell me you wouldn't get a dark and morbid giggle out of seeing a supermutant hopping around on one leg, whilst trying to club you with the other!
GECK.O Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I'm a bit disappointed with the trailer. It seems there's no body weight slider like those in Skyrim and TSO. Every body shape look the same.
windu190 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Supposedly leaked details: http://www.gamerevolution.com/news/this-exbethesda-employee-leaked-fallout-4-a-year-ago-but-nobody-believed-her-33141 http://www.gameskinny.com/45pd7/ex-bethesda-employee-leaked-fallout-4-details-nearly-a-year-ago https://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout/comments/28v2dn/i_played_fallout_4/ Which brings me to something I don't want to see. Not being able to play a female character, which is actually one of the leaked details. Luckily these details are likely bogus. I mean, Fallout 4 getting a brand new engine, but for the 360 and ps3 it's getting the creation engine? What? You can't just swap the engine of a game, that would basically mean they are creating the entire game twice, yeah right.
bjornk Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 We already discussed all that yesterday I'm afraid, in other threads. This happens when there are too many Fallout 4 threads where people talk about the same thing, usually even without reading what other people have already written.

Guest Comrade DR. MAHUJ DIK Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 there are rumors of fallout 4 since 2012 and several proved true on the trailer so maybe bethesda was working on it since 2012, also looks like the skyrim engine with some tweaks to get better phisics and graphics. When skyrim was announced (2011) the game was almost complete so they released it on the same year (11/11/11), maye well vist the wasteland this year.
RapidWaterOver Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Do you know when the game will be released? It's going to be during this fall or the holidays correct? BTW love your user name. That screenshot looks pretty awesome, can't wait to see sex mods for that one No sex mods anytime soon... ...just shots of her bare giganormous breasts.
Leito86 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I'm a bit disappointed with the trailer. It seems there's no body weight slider like those in Skyrim and TSO. Every body shape look the same. Looks like there may be a weight slider. The woman on the right is a tad thicker than the one one the left. It'll be nice to have character creation options similar to racemenu/body slide or at least similar to what ESO has.

Yes, Yes, yes and above all YES. It really ticks me off that there all these perks about better hit chance on limbs and yet they still die like I'd just blown their heads clean off, so why am I bothering to shoot them in the leg? Also: *giggle*, and I'm not even a giggling kind of person. And two more: 1. Collision meshes that extend way past the visible mesh and collision meshes that cover something that has large visible gaps...like a freaking swing set. If I can see through the fence then I'd better be able to shoot through the fence. If I can see the raider's full upper body over the rock then why the hell are my bullets hitting the rock and not the raider? Yes, Fallout is a game and between high skill levels and V.A.T.S. the player is an avenging god with a gun. That doesn't change the fact that I can still make shots at the range that my character would fail because there is a collision mesh in the way. 2. The TOTALLY UNREALISTIC underwear from FO3 and FNV making a return. I do not care what story you come up with as an explanation, stripping a nearly nude raider of their armor (Painspike I'm looking at you) and having them pop up with an undershirt and boxer-briefs that were not visible before is totally not possible. What did I leave the Vault with an infinite supply of underwear? If so, why aren't I trading some of that away for food and water? It isn't like clean water is common enough for people to shower or wash clothes on a regular basis. And raiders sure don't bother with either, so where is this underwear coming from? A set of briefs for the males and a two-piece set for females will still be dumb and unrealistic, but better than what the last two games had.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 You know how bad of an idea it would be if they used nude bodies instead? That would totally kill the FO4 for Nexus. They cater members ages 13+ as a registration requirement. I still don't know how they've gotten away with it. But you can be sure that if they added nude bodies to take away that unrealistic approach Nexus would have to step down from allowing FO4 mods on their site. So the alternative is download a nude body replacer that makes the male and female body look realistic for one, and two, it would take away that unrealistic underwear shown when you remove armors such as the painspike you mention. Besides, that's not really a big issue since vanilla bodies suck anyways.
00ptic Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Yes, to each their own; but the real problem with Lamplight was that there was no real option to be a total a$$hole with the kiddies. All the other settlements there is the possibility to kill or force your way in, and the problem was that Lamplight was a requirement for the main story. That, and the sequence where you get beat down by a couple of guys with sticks at the beginning of The Pitt still stand out to me as the most unacceptable parts in the Fallout series. For four random thugs carrying the most basic weapons to do what the combined might of the entire Enclave couldn't is almost as immersion-breaking as it is laughable. But yeah, having to follow the rules of some child with no other options is just disrespectful to the player character. If nearly any other NPC says something like that to you, it is well within your ability to refuse to cooperate (except for certain things, like being taken to old Pearl, who you can still kill afterwards). It's fine If it's against their ethics or against the law to have children be killable in their games, but in that case they could just not have a city full of the invincible bastards that you need to bow to in order to progress.
Gameplayer Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 No children is an acceptable answer to that. Seriously in the Fallout world mouthing off to the LW that isn't a proper example of survival.

Besides, that's not really a big issue since vanilla bodies suck anyways. I agree, but the underwear is still very immersion breaking. As for the possibility of a nude body, the simple fact is that they wouldn't do nude bodies anyway as they still claim that it was modders removing the bra from the female body in Oblivion, when it was their employees who forgot to merge the texture layers so that it couldn't be removed, that got them rated Mature from ESRB rather than the original Teen. It's a load of garbage, the ESRB people didn't find the Dark Brotherhood, and when they found out about it they re-issued the rating. And if Beth tried to do a nude body it would be an automatic Adults Only rating and they don't want that. That rating is often the death of a game as most retailers won't carry those games. They have the get the Mature rating or lower. Personally, anything lower is a waste of time and a disservice to what Fallout has a history of being. The days of Daggerfall nudity and Fallout 2 sex are sadly long over. [rant] Personally I think the ESRB is often crap anyway. Stuff like the "Hot Coffee" bit from GTA:SA shouldn't have gotten the game re-rated as it could only be reached with mods. Once people start making changes to the game, even if there was something left in that couldn't be accessed without the mod, it isn't the base game anymore. ESRB doesn't rate "online interactions" which usually means multiplayer. Downloading a mod is an "online interaction" as far as I'm concerned. [/rant] @00ptic; Yeah, I forgot about that bit at the start of the Pitt. I only tried to force my way in once and after I saw that bit of BS I just played along after that. I play with Tale of Two Wastelands and I've pretty much stopped doing the Pitt as none of the rewards are worth it to the majority of my characters.

Besides, that's not really a big issue since vanilla bodies suck anyways. You're joking right ? Nexus is the biggest adult modding platform in the world! No, the problem that EndGameAddition sees, and I agree with, is that it would be much harder for Nexus, which passes itself off as "family friendly", to keep up that image if nude bodies were directly included in a future game. The problem that many people, myself included, have with the "family friendly" attitude of Nexus is that, in America all the games that Nexus was really made for, Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas and Skyrim, have a Mature rating. That means that they are not supposed to be purchased by someone under 17. The Nexus styles itself as being for people age 13+. That is really rather dumb when in one of the largest markets the game cannot be purchased by people that young. I don't know how the rules with that work for Asia, Europe or Australia, but I expect that they work in a similar manner, only that the rating systems for those areas likely carry more legal weight than the ones in America. Additionally, likely because of how the laws work in the UK (someone from the UK correct me if I'm wrong), Robin would have to have the site registered as an "Adult" site if too much adult content is allowed in or if specific kinds of content are on the site. That would open the site up for adult advertising on all of its pages, not just those for the adult mods. Look at the adds here on LL; the one playing at the top of the window as I'm typing this shows three different men, specifically their dicks, getting blow jobs from four different women and one scene changes to show show some chick with massively fake boobs getting screwed hard. That is NOT the kind of advertisement the Nexus people want popping up on their site. Yes, Nexus has a ton of "adult" mods, but most of them are body replacers and clothing options. Almost all the "hardcore" adult mods are hosted off the Nexus. I think Animated Prostitution is still there, but I don't know if they ever got the Skyrim version working right. In many ways the content of the mods here on LL is more "extreme" than one would normally expect; BDSM, rape, bestiality, slavery and other non-consensual sexual situations are not uncommon themes here. I'm not saying that those are all that is here, but many of the most well known mods here include at least one of those themes.
