I don't know what I was suppossed to read on that, but it linked me to something about the pope, and I got confused, scrolled down and saw something about the Pentagon moving into the Cheyenne Mountain Complex after it was abandoned. The Goa'uld attacked, didn't they? I just know it. On topic title, though, woo, Fallout 4! I wonder what will happen if I get the power armour with jetpack and hit a Vertibird? Hmmmm . . So many experiments to do, and it isn't even out yet.
Redflyingmonkey Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Biggest question for me is : vehicles ? Please, I want my own flying HMS Victory ... I hope they learned from the Dev Azeva mod in Skyrim and actually made a flying base, at least for after the main storyline or something.
Sacremas Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Annoyance; only PS4 and XBone versions of Pip Boy Edition up for preorder yet at the retailer I use. Starting to become worried I might miss out on my Pip Boy. Wants my Smarter Watch!

Loogie Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 I'm looking forward to the game while simultaneously bracing for disappointment.
testsubject013 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 I swear this thread has morphed into Fox News. next at eleven how video games are corrupting your children and turning them into devil worshipping nymphomaniacs
sunder02 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Personally , I don't think the skill system was that well implemented in FO 3 and F NV , look at something like lockpicking the game only cared about the thresholds of 25,50,75 and 100 , I've never seen or can't remember using it as a part of a conversation or object interaction other a container or a door, science saw more use in quests and perks ,but also care only about the skill threshold when you needed to hack something. There was no reason to take points out of your Int. stats unless you we're roleplaying as a thick in the head individual , 'cause you'll be gimping your char. on purpose , how often was your Int. stat the lowest as oppose to the highest honestly , and I personally boosted my Int. to get the most skill points not 'cause I was roleplaying a mad genius of the wastes every single time I started a new game . It seems to me they are trying to make you choose a path for your char. and stick with it rather being able to go to S.P.E.A.C.I.A.L. x 10 and skills x 100 by level 20 like in FO 3 , bobble heads OP.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 I didn't like the skill/xp system for Fallout. I think xp system needs to go. It's old level up system. I do like Skyrim's because it allows you to determine what type of character you'll be when it comes to combat. The level up system for FO3 and FNV made you over powered in time just like with Skyrim's, but it was more of a challenge to get your skills up instead of 1-1000xp to level 2 12 points distributed into any skill(s) you want. The SPECIAL to me seems fine. It's one of their trademarks that makes Fallout, Fallout.
...0... Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 So the topic of paid mods is back... Why? We don't know if F4 mods will be paid. We don't even know if F4 is coming out... It's just a timer. I know I'm stretching it now, but this timer might as well indicate the end of site maintenance. So don't go all crazy for now and wait for official info, huh? When they introduced paid mods for Skyrim they kept it a secret on purpose. There is no reason to believe that you can snoop the info in advance this time. Speculating slippery slope Im totally against paid mods for many reason and don't agree with Doctasax at all on his views paid mods it's end of modding as we know it period. My prediction on F4 will be 100% console made game badly ported will suck for PC. Latest rumors no mods because of sex content, zealot moralist don't want you to see or make. SOURCE: FOX NEWS:P
GrimReaper Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Someone once said that players are good at spotting problems or faulty design, but absolutely horrible at making suggestions on how to fix said problems. Bethesda has a tendency to silently watch the gaming and modding community and adjust their games accordingly. They kind of overdo it sometimes (hello Oblivion-levelscaling) but their intentions are usually to make a better game. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Anyway, the good thing about mods is they actually show what players want rather than a loud complaining minority trying to speak for everyone.
Redflyingmonkey Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 bethesda confirmed that there will not be any vehicles besides the vertibird that you can call for a pickup Well, shit.
Kaz Aanh Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 bethesda confirmed that there will not be any vehicles besides the vertibird that you can call for a pickup Well, shit. Show me a gamebryo game with a properly working vehicles on the all y,x,z axises. Thats why they avoid that, because they don't know how to deal with it. Horses in skyrim are a good example of that.

Sacremas Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 There was a reasonably good both car and motorcycle mod for FNV that worked fine, it just pointed out how small that map was when you didn't have to walk across it. Hell I walk from NV to Goodsprings in a few ingame hours.
Redflyingmonkey Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 It's more the airships than the cars. Tbh having empty roads so you can drive around would suck for fallout so I'm glad they didn't try, but having a flying something would be great with all those airships we saw in the trailer. You know, sky pirate and all... Well jetpacks are nice too though.

Riggswolfe Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 People thinking they can change game features from what they've seen of it in it's teaser/trailer = lol, big time lol. Like so out loud I created a second voice which lols too so we can both lol in synch and make a lolchestra. Wait, people thinking they can change a BETHESDA game feature from it's trailer with a petition. Wow it's a loltrio, we're gonna be so famous I'll call it "Lol and Lol and fucking Lol". Assuming the first part of this rant is referring to mods changing dialogue, I think you're wayyyyyy off base. Mods have been able to make massive, massive changes to the past games and once people are past the learning curve, it'll happen with this one. The biggest hurdle to modding the dialogue system will likely be on the UI side as opposed to the scripting side.

Wait don't bother I have a minute to spare : I was talking about some idiots making petitions so Bethesda would change their dialogue system BEFORE the game is even out. Because those idiots apparently only need 30 seconds of trailer about that new dialogue system to think it's shit. Never said folks wouldn't be able to change it with mods AFTER game release. So, wrong assumption
Sacremas Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 I hate logic and common sense, it's the only thing, the ONLY THING that has prevented me from conquering the world yet. But oh just wait, I'm going to find out who invented these things and I'm going to get them redacted, and then NOTHING CAN STOP ME!

Gameplayer Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 I liked the old Skill System back then, But It heavily encouraged specific characters with high intellect scores, which then was used to min/max your skill totals. This allowed for some really stupid things to happen like being maxed out in a combat skill by level 4 or 5. This also allowed players to become suddenly competent in a skill inside one level gain, nevermind if that skill was something that didn't fit the class type the player had planned at start to play. Skyrim's skill system is actually a superior method. Simply because your only going to be good in skills that you actually use in the game. Your just not going to all of a sudden make up your mind at level 15 in theif skills that your now at level 16 going to be an amazing Warrior instead. That was an issue with Fallout and I think its a serious one. I'm not even sure why they kept SPECIAL other than to make the player base happy. I'm sure its still got enough in there for rules lawyers and power happy gamers to make their non-legit-RPG-fantasy-powerhouse-character that doesn't make any sence but oh well.
Gameplayer Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 Gee how come Fallout doesn't have a massive outcry for Adult Content? Seems to me people cry for all sorts of stuff on Steam about how Fallout should have features from Witcher, Mass Effect, and DragonAge. Seems to me those 3 games that keep getting brought up all the time have something in common no one is fussing about. Oh right Adult Content!

I'm not sure I want to see how Bethsoft's animators would fuck that up. They've never been good at the whole "two npcs touching each other" thing.
Gameplayer Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 Oh I know it'll be aweful I was just getting tired of how many posters in threads will bring up those 3 titles and say Fallout has to have this waah. But looks like someone beat me to it, found a thread on the Fo4 Forum haha.
