Chaos63 Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 This Russian site has a good deal of the mods from this site. They give credit though. Not sure about permission if anyone cares. Language barrier and all that. http://adultmodslocalized.ru/ I wonder how many of them would be willing to cross over. Having a few more experienced modders is never a bad thing.
Rayblue Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Nexus and LL are two totally different sites with two totally different communities that view each other through some really tinted spectacles. Went and summed up this entire topic and the majority of similar topics in a single sentence. This devolved into another anti-Nexus black hole so fast. What happened to posting more ass and titty mods? I like LL better when there's less of this nonsense and more sex. There's threads in this fora to discuss what you want to see and have fun, and then we have issues about how and why would certain mods can or cannot be uploaded, which eventually becomes a discussion on staff and modder behavior and politics of Nex, and why they tolerate certain people or actions, some of which goes against the very rules and regs they established purportedly to keep their site in order. If those same issues and grievances were to be discussed over there, it'll be deleted and the TS get flagged for, um, "trolling". Of course they'll issue denials and the white knights would come to defend their actions as justifiable. Unfortunately, as it's their site, literally a regime unto itself, Nex isn't going to change -- it's their banana republic and they'll damn well will do anything they wish.
prideslayer Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Not sure about permission if anyone cares. Everyone should care, or haven't you been paying attention to the discussion?
myuhinny Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 @Ceit *It seems to me a minor thing to ban someone for...* They had tons of *minor* infringements when they were banned it wasn't the first time that they had done what they did to finally gain them a ban. *A blatant mass misuse of images a lot copyrighted, and non credited even when the TOS of the creators of the source images require it. A few examples: 357 shell image taken from centerfirebrass.com Legion money taken from ma-shop.co.uk Rusty barrel taken from galleryhip.com This is not the first time or even second time you have either had a mod removed for this very same infringement and has even had an upload ban for it in the past. Your blatant disregard for the site rules and taking images and adding an overlay or two over them to pass it off as your own 100% work with the sheer volume combined with your past infringements, means you have earned yourself a ban. Also in their present state all your mods will be removed/put into moderator review mode. They might make their own website when the time comes. This last sentence was taken from a quote of theirs to someone else.

Taskmaster Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 @Ceit: calling Nexus "worse" over others is where my interpretation of "just" came from, as if Kimy were singling out Nexus as an offender on that level. I don't agree with how Nexus handles things, but I don't feel that they're the "worst" over others by comparison. It's on per user basis, and I wouldn't be surprised if Nexus has the highest user base with modding communities. I wasn't even disagreeing with Kimy, it was a minor semantic issue. I gotcha, no worries but going back and reading her last post I don't think she took it as minor as you're describing it now... but ya, it's all good here Glad I wasn't the only one here who thought it looked that way from her, too, hahahah
Kendo 2 Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 I've been wondering why sexlab and devious devices and mods like that aren't on Nexus. They have CBBE but not SOS or UNP, was it the modder's choice or did Nexus ban it? If they banned it it would make little sense because of the adult filter. Just curious and looking for a quick answer. Another reason not to have Lover's Lab home content at Nexus; the membership and downloaders themselves. 'UR MOD BRK MEH GAMZ.' 'I don't use X body mod. Make it for Y.' 'I already have a mod installed that changes what you made. You need to fix your mod.' 'Why would anyone make this? its (sic) stoopid.' ...and so on. Who wants to put up with that? And add to that your typical downloader today is a total dumb ass when it comes to how their games actually function. If it isn't packed in BSA form or comes with an auto-installer they are lost. They have no idea what's in their game folders to begin with and then they start stacking modded content into them. And when something goes wrong it is THE MODDER'S FAULT because it certainly can't be theirs. There are downloaders like that on every forum, but Nexus is the hub for new boot players so you have the dumbest of the dumb washing up on their beach first. As far as download counts go; I don't care if anyone downloads what I make or not. On any forum I've been on I mod for a core of about 15 people, so any downloads over 15 are a bonus. There is no reason to feel neglected if a mod doesn't have tons of downloads. Downloads do not make a mod good. There are mods on Nexus with 1,000,000 downloads and they are shit. People have no idea what they are actually downloading when then see 'hi-res textures' or 'hi-poly meshes'. Textures resized to 4096x4096 are not hi-res. Meshes with the vertice counts doubled are not hi-poly. But downloaders are stupid so they'll install that shit in their games and then come back and post how awesome the mod is...a mod that doesn't do anything. And have you guys ever noticed that the members who start these threads always pose a topic and then just vanish afterwards? It's gotta be some kind of evil Nexus plot.

Nobody is forcing either of you to read threads with 'nexus' in the title, and considering the obvious direction they're likely to take, why click at all? There are valid criticisms of both sites, but if you really want to see where the rubber meets the road, try openly airing and discussing those criticisms in both places. The trajectory those threads take, along with your account status, will be rather illuminating.

That's why I just use your stuff. I'm stupid as heck when it comes to meshes/textures and all that. Your stuff looks good and doesn't cause my system to go into a needless meltdown. Plus the way you pack things sometimes causes me to learn how to install things a different way than simply copy/paste. Not a bad thing!
cornbreadtm Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Not sure about permission if anyone cares. Everyone should care, or haven't you been paying attention to the discussion? It was sarcasm my friend. But seriously you guys should check it out and fire up that google translator!

There are valid criticisms of both sites, but if you really want to see where the rubber meets the road, try openly airing and discussing those criticisms in both places. The trajectory those threads take, along with your account status, will be rather illuminating. So it's either join the circlejerk or get out? I don't think that's a healthy stance for a forum. People are free to agree / disagree with each other and dicuss the topic in question if they so desire. For example, the ban happy moderators at the nexus are an issue, right? But it would be too easy to just look at that and claim 'nexus suxx' without looking at what causes the moderators to behave in such a way. A better way would be to look beneath the surface to understand why something happens instead of just jumping to conclusions because you see what happens. I would say that the enormous userbase the nexus has plays a big role here. Zero tolerance policy for the users and huge tolerance about interpreting the rules for the moderators are a volatile mixture open for abuse, but seeing that a handful of moderators have to moderate thousands of users each day makes it more understandable, imo. Keep in mind even LL employs a similar course of action when it comes to certain things, like threads about politics. The only thing that is missing here is that you'll get banned instantly, but if you have several hundred users who want to open these topics all the time, that might change as well. Or users that just download and don't know how to mod. Not everyone has the time and interest to understand how exactly the game and tools that come with it work. They might be shit at simple tasks like even activating mods but on the other hand, maybe they have a family that requires attention. Or need to work all day erry day. Or have other hobbies. That dude that doesn't know shit about modding or how to use your mod might make the best pizza in town for all you know, or might be a hobby artist of some sort. People are only a problem when they start demanding that you should cater to their needs for no other reason than thinking their needs are more important than anything else, regardless of their background.

Ashal Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 LoversLab and Nexus are two different communities on two different sites that cater to two different audience types. How either site handles their business, is ultimately their own prerogative. Live and let live. That said, this thread has devolved well past it's original honest and completely valid question into another unnecessary Nexus rant thread and pointless "us versus them" type mentality. There is nothing constructive left ahead if this thread continues as is and will now be locked. /Locked
