Content Consumer Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I think I've run into a bug of sorts... might be intentional, though, I don't know. I honestly don't know how drugs in general work, so maybe this is totally fine. I'm suffering withdrawal effects because I haven't found Skooma for quite a while, and I finally found a bottle... and drinking it gave me the boost but didn't get rid of the withdrawal effects. Is this normal?
youlou Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I use skooma dealers of skyrim and i would love to see the skooma added compatible wth the effects provided by this mod. The visual effects are quite immersive, maybe you could ask the author his permisssion to use his ressources >> http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56547/? It adds some drug dealers in major city too.

Is this normal? I am afraid that might be an issue. Thinking loudly, when you already have an addiction stage and then Skooma activates its suppresion effects the withdrawals are already active and don´t check the conditions again and stay active. But I already have an idea, I should be enought to remove and reapply the currend active addiction stage to trigger the conditions again. But gladly this is still beta, right xD
Plumber Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I like the way the mod is going however there might be a problem with Realistic Needs & Diseases. (Just need someone else to confirm it). RND doesn't have any special fancy scripts for skooma, so you can fix the issue just by changing load order. Last mod in the list overrides changes from previous. P.S. Sorry, my English is bad.
Jayleia Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 So, this might have been brought up already (I'm sure it has). I'm thinking the first few doses should have MUCH larger effects on the addiction level, so if you take, maybe 3 doses in 2 days you're already at lvl 1, or they could offer you a special dose just to start...one hit and you're already at lvl one (but it lasts MUCH longer and is much stronger) If you've come down from a higher level addiction to 0, and take it again, ever, you immediately go to your previous level-2 (minimum of 1), if you've come from higher down to lvl 1, you go to your previous level-1 (min 2)

Last mod in the list overrides changes from previous. P.S. Sorry, my English is bad. Your English was fine. Nope, I've tried the reordering thing. LOOT original ordering was RND at 153 & SW at 211 on my setup. I moved SW above RND, (i.e. to 152), did a TES5Edit to see if anything was wrong with that ordering. Loaded up the game, gave myself some Jet, (erm sorry). Skooma and the RND effect still occurs. The reason I thought that RND has a script for it is that it holds down the mana & stamina for about 13 minutes. Obviously the 'beneficial' effects from this mod are somewhat swamped by that mod's come down, and as the RND's Skooma benefits aren't that good why would anybody use it on a regular occasion? EDIT: - Ok Doh!, RND UKSP patch was below LOOT ordered SW and was overidding SW. So top tip, after LOOTing, move SW below anything RND patch related. Thanks for the pointer. (Obviously when I say below I mean later in the order sequence, not earlier, erm - anyway you know what I mean).
Ashra XIII Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 So how do I tell if this mod is working? I do see the MCM menu, the dealers have shown up as they should, and I'm able to trade sex for skooma, but I'm not sure about the most important part, which is the addiction. Is there a way to track it? If it's in the MCM, that's the only place I forgot to look when last I played the game. If it's completely hidden, I understand that as well, but I just wanna make sure it's happening is all. I started a character largely to play with Skooma Whore active, and it's worked out rather well so far. I started her off as a former bandit (with Alternate Start) with her origin story being that she isn't making enough profit off banditry to pay for her skooma habit, so she decides to strike out on her own and become a mercenary. Since I'm running OBIS, some bandit types also carry skooma, so they are natural targets for her anyways, so she takes jobs to clean out bandits, takes their skooma, then uses the profits to purchase more skooma! We'll see how fast she spins out, or at least gets in over her head and ends up enslaved.
Content Consumer Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Your current addiction pool is shown in the MCM. As for the addiction effects, well... you won't have any major withdrawal effects until stage 3 or so. At least, that's the point at which I start suffering.
Ashra XIII Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Ahh yes, the one place I didn't think to check until after I exited the game. Oh well, good to know! I figure it's probably working fine since everything else shows up, and I like that it's not exactly obvious just how bad things are getting until they really start affecting gameplay.
galgat Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 yes right now i have to admit that the addiction effect really make game play undoable, I could not hit anything with crossbow or arrow at all. Maybe so I don't die all the time "LOL" it would be nice if I could hit the target sometimes
Ashra XIII Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 How does this mod make hitting with a bow or crossbow harder? Is there a visual effect that comes with high addiction? I get a bit of a blur effect when my girl takes a dose, but it doesn't seem to mess things up too bad. My current character has just hit 'regular user' and I'm definitely starting to see the difference. At first, she would only need a hit of skooma during longer fights with many opponents, but now as addiction puts a drain on her regen, she's needing it sooner in a fight so her supply is beginning to dwindle, even with the freebies she gets off certain defeated bandits. It's getting interesting and I really love the new dynamic this has added to my gameplay. Thank you for your work!
Daemones Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Addiction and the mana pool works but I can't find any of the dealers in the major cities and the one in Solitude doesn't sell moon sugar or skooma
-Wulfy- Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Not sure if it was suggested yet, but maybe this should be combined with Dangerously Nude? Other NPC's that see you are vulnerable and try to take advantage of you.
mikectj Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Thank`s for this beautiful and interesting mod, I like to know if it is compatible with CN - Mixwater Mill Workers House Overhaul(http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58412)??? Thank`s again
magicrealm Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 After playing the cidhna mine again, it turned out that the mod devious cidhna mine was responsible for reducing the speechcraft and not skooma whore. in that mod speechcraft get reduced when blindfolded. it is not restored to normal when you take the blindfolf off by yourself. you must ask malacath to do this.

Vault_Girl Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Hi! I am sorry if this has already been answered before. The mod is great, the only problem I have is that I seem to not get any negative effects from using Skooma too much. As in, no drawback effects. No flashing screen, no decrease in anything, no sickness. Are there supposed to be advanced drawback efects? Thanks!

No flashing screen, no decrease in anything, no sickness. Are there supposed to be advanced drawback efects? Thanks! The negative effects include stamina regen damage, magicka regen damage, and speech damage. For me, the effects are mostly negligible and generally go unnoticed because of the way I play the game. It all depends on your play style whether you will have these effects affect you and how much. If you aren't seeing any effects at all even at high levels of addiction, it's either a bug (possible) or a mod conflict of some kind (likely) or Skyrim is having conniption fits today (always a possibility).
Ashra XIII Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Yes in my play session last night I passed into the 'risky use' phase of skooma addiction, and it occurred to me that I wasn't really feeling like an addict. To be sure, I'm needing skooma a bit more because I have little regen without it, but this is only in combat... If I'm not battling, I have no need for skooma and don't feel its effects at all. I don't know how far this mod is intended to realize the horrors of addiction, but my personal suggestion to really bring up the immersion factor would be to have the mod send little messages, the way Apropos and Fill Her Up do... It's a small thing that has a huge impact on things for me. Fill Her Up also has NPCs make comments to the player, which would be very appropriate for this mod as well; as addiction progresses, it probably becomes more obvious to others, causing them to either make rude or, if their morality is low, offer a bottle in exchange for favors? Another angle on the 'skooma whore' part of the mod. My last suggestion would be to possibly do something like Deviously Helpless, only with skooma. So when the player is at the highest level of addiction, bandits might rape you instead of attacking if you are suffering from withdrawals, and don't already have a weapon drawn... The theory here being that your reflexes are too slow to get your defenses ready and enemies see it.
jfraser Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 One possible way to increase the feeling of needing skooma outside of combat might be to make the player gradually move more slowly as the body becomes more reliant on skooma for energy. I'd be chugging the stuff nonstop if the alternative was an inability to run.
Ashra XIII Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I thought about that too, but didn't suggest it because that might just become torture if you are caught in the middle of nowhere without skooma and have to trudge along somewhere to get it. Or worse you don't have funds for more and are completely stuck. Of course, that *would* support becoming a skooma whore, because you'd be too slow to do anything else until you built up some supply.
afa Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Oh god no, running speed is one of those things that I am super anal on. Probably because when I "play" the game I am always in a hurry to test this test that, need to go here and there to do this and that. The stamina regen debuff is super apparent for me since I sprint everywhere as much as possible...Ain't no body got time for that! I unequip armor when running and put them back on in battle or need their enchantments. yet I invest all level up to health and play a heavy armor type of character.

I unequip armor when running and put them back on in battle or need their enchantments. yet I invest all level up to health and play a heavy armor type of character. yes I hate anything that inhibits my ability to get somewhere, as i am always exploring for new possibilities. But the stamina regen was probablly the least offensive way to show a problem with the addiction. I had no problem with that. I know when I allowed full addiction I could not hit anything with my bow, or cross bow, I had little choice but to turn the mod off when I was actually needing to do something important LOL anything that inhibits my inventory, or fast travel, I find problem with. It Is one of the reasons I seldom play DH, which should be called ArmBinder&Gag. I love the mod, but have gotten really tired of the armbinder, it inhibits my movement, and my inventory access, and my attack, and when caught way out in the wilderness with it, and a gag on, you are like screwed for awhile. I like DH a lot, but I am really tired of constant Armbinder, and no option in the MCM to get rid of it. The gag actually never really bothered me that much, as I could still access my inventory, and fast travel, and attack if I needed too. But now with forced Zenet Gag quest in there, and no option to turn it off either, it is troublesome too. It also pretty much made anyone Else's Gag talk mod useless, so anyone Else with and Innovation for the gag well, we won't see it. I suppose if they set there priority high enough on there quest they might work, but over lap would still be possible, and conflict. I like this mod very much though, and I am very aware that you are prunning, and tweaking it as you go, and it was, and is quite a bit of good adult fun.
jfraser Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I hate being slowed down too. So how about this: have skooma speed the player up so much that regular running feels slow. then those who like getting from place to place quickly have a reason to really want to use it.
