Since updating to 1.2.3, restrictive boots now appear under the floor.

 

I assume this is due to the removal of HDT-HH ?

 

I have installed NiOverride but boots still don't 'raise' the player up.

 

What am I doing wrong?

 

Is anything overwriting the restrictive boots meshes? A conversion for a different body, perhaps? If so, the conversion's meshes will need updating to NiO.

I'll explain it in a spoiler tag, because it's not pleasant reading. Fair warning.

 

 

Suicide happened.

 

No i'm not kidding. A few weeks back i fell into a very deep depression, cleared my profile, and tried to kill myself. Someone found me dying and an ambulance was called, i woke up three days later in a hospital bed with who even knows how many tubes sticking out of me.

 

 

I'm a childhood sexual abuse survivor, a man raped me countless times when i was 8 years old. Most survivors do not live to be 30 years old (the suicide rate for childhood rape victims is nearly 50% before the age of 25, it slows down after that age, but it doesen't stop, most victims do not survive to die naturally). The fact that i've lived as long as i have was beating the odds, but my mental state has been worsening for the last few months, depression, panick attacks, flashbacks to the abuse, that sort of thing, and i finally coulden't deal with it anymore.

 

 

I've been falling in and out of suicidal depression since my attempt, the only thing that keeps me going right now is that i was finally granted Psychiatric aid after the attempt (treatment hasen't started yet, i'm still waiting for that), this after they denied my requests for several years. So there's a glimmer of hope on the horizon that wasen't there before. That, and perhabs more importantly, a very good friend of mine has been a great support, i owe her more than she could know.

 

 

It's not pleasant, but i'm coming out and saying it anyway because people could stand to be better educated on the subject. It's real, it happens all the bloody time and not just the few times it gets mention in the TV news, and despite modern Psychiatry beeing only all to aware that it is a very serious problem for the victims, there is almost no help for the survivors unless they can afford to pay for it out of their own pocket. People don't want to talk about it, or even think about it, it's ugly and people don't want to be confronted with it, and so we're passed by when causes get championed, and usually left to fend for ourselves.

Firstly, thank you for a wonderful mod.


And thank you for sharing.  I've lost two good friends to suicide over the past three years.  Neither of them spoke about it at all, and it was a complete surprise.

Victims often go one of two ways, either they become asexual and want little to nothing to do with sex, or they become completely sexually unhinged, want it all the time and develop various kinks. It's rather rare that anyone comes out the other side with a healthy and balanced relationship to sex.

 

I fall into the latter catagory, completely unhinged. But of course, i have triggers, and they are things that people might not expect (for instance, rape-mods do not trigger me, but the CBBE body triggers me very badly. It doesen't make any sense, but that's just how it is), and getting triggered can be very devastating. So yeah, it's a complicated and difficult thing to deal with.

 

But what can i do? I'm a bit stuck between a rock and a hard place with it

 

 

All i really can do is try to find the things i like and avoid the triggers. Sadly, the DD family of mods is now firmly in the "trigger" catagory for me, ergo i was forced to quit the team. It's been very painful, and still is, i cared an awful lot about this mod, and now it feels like it's just yet another thing that he ruined and took away from me, even if via proxy. It hurts, there's no denying that.

 

 

Just gotta roll with the punches and try to recover, there's not much else for it.

imo, try not to think about it too much, just takes a long time, idk but mental abuse is the hardest to overcome and needs lots of time, but the best healing process is to try not to think about it at all and let time do the rest, after a while it gets buried inside and try to focus on stuff that interest you like a goal that you would want to achieve, so when u get up every morning u have something to look forward to start your day.

 

And whenever you think about the past focus on the happy times just leave the sad times buried and forgotten.

Yes, you are spot on.  I am using 7B boot conversions (by me )

 

My next question is, what do I need to do to modify my converted mesh files to support NiOverride?​

 

I would rather edit my 7B conversions than redo the conversions if at all possible, but whichever is quicker and easier.

Follow the second video tutorial in the first post of this topic and it should do the trick. You'll need to know the value in the old HDT-HH spell for the boots, as you'll need to enter that in the new string in the nif. (I think for the restrictive boots it was 6.0, but can't remember off the top of my head.) If you still have the previous version of DDx you can check what it is in there and the first video should show how.

There is no dialogue and no quests in this mod alone. It's a resource that allows other mods to use the devices.

Okay so my mod manager has version DDX 1.2.5 installed but the latest version of the mod i can find is 1.2.3

 

Any ideas why? The last Archive i still have on my harddrive is 1.2.2

i have a problem with devious devices not showing on my character if I drop them on the ground there seen. I only tried corset pony boots and restrictive collar, slave collar and ankle irons work fine. this is a clean install with all recommended mods and there recommended mods. reinstalled everything like three times. can't figure out whats wrong or what i'm missing. mods installed are fnis sexlab skse zaz skyui hdthighheels xpmse devious devices assets,expansion,intergration,enslaved,helpless,for the masses 2,dayomyl,alternate start,osact,apacii,azarhair,immerslave,racemenu,sd+,sos,sexlab cumshot,eagerNPCS,dialogues,aroused,defeat,uiextensions,about ten follower mods. I reinstalled all above mods like three times still not sure if I missed something.using mod manager,tes5edit. made sure textures are present so any help is appreciated. oh and already been to devious devices assets forum, I was told it's in expansion forum where I might find help. and yes all my mods are the latest versions. was working fine before the clean install so I may have missed something but I can't figure out what.

Wow, I don't know what to say, I myself was abused physically by my former step-father. It made me a pretty angry guy in my younger years, I've also been in and out of Psych hospitals when I was young as well, and have tried to commit suicide myself. My real father DID commit suicide and he left me a note, most of it was negative talk about my mother. My cousin recently committed suicide, I feel regret that I didn't get to know her more than the rare family gathering, perhaps I could have helped her, I will never know. I've gotten better but it has taken time, the good thing is that I left the anger behind by becoming more spiritual, trying to find some sense of order, I guess that is why I majored in Religious Studies, it exposed me to philosophy, history, anthropology, etc. What also helped me was becoming a Therapist Tech at the local MHMR (Mental Health and Mental Retardation) Community Center. I took care of consumers (patients) who were pretty much abandoned by their families because of their conditions, it might sound harsh and a bit selfish, but it made me thankful for what I had. I worked there several years before going into the family business, when I was sure I had my own personal issues worked out. Best thing is time, and working towards fixing yourself, first by loving yourself. I don't know why I tell you this now, but I hope it helps in some mild way to know someone who has had a similar experience. Honestly, if it wasn't for my mother's continued support over the years, I would have ended my life years ago. I honestly don't know what I will do when she passes, I try to not think about it.

I'm thinking this mod would be complete with a pair of bondage mittens. It would be like restrictive gloves but with a chance to lose your weapon per swing, perhaps even losing some of the keys you pick up.

After having a problem with textures in DDequip I have found a little but annoying bug present on the unp version of DDx.

 

I paste from my post in the DDequip thread:

 

The CustomEbHarnessSingle_0 and CustomEbHarnessSingle_1 of the CBBE version has the parts names correctly set but the UNP has them the other way arround, thats why they show (the textures) correctly for CBBE users (I presume you) and switched for UNP ones (me).

 

Here are the fixed meshes that match the order of the CBBE ones:

No, you can change it. You can change slot to hide or live everything unhide ( like me ).

The device hider hides devices in situations where they shouldn't be visible: You should not be able see piercings through a bra, belt through clothing, etcetera. If you disable it, everything will still function correctly - but  there will be clipping. Piercings will stick out of the bra, and so forth.

Also, the Integration thread would be the correct thread for this.

Hey Guys,

 

I've been having a consistent problem for awhile with textures. No Ebonite Textures ever seem to work for me, and some items like the Pony Boots are completely invisible. I've tried disabling and re-enabling the mod via mod manager, but that hasn't helped. Do you all have any suggestions?
