NEWB QUESTION: CBBE or UNP - which one to choose?

I havent played skyrim for rather a while (I mean, it was half a year already! wow! ) and I  have to do a new installation and start combining the mods all over again. My question is pretty simple though, which one is better when it comes to compatibility issues - CBBE or UNP?

Yeah, and what about skins and hair? Could you suggest anything interesting, please? What are the modern trends?

there is no right answer, this thread could devolve into opinion flaming.

i for example, feel like cbbe/cbbe-based-things has way more market share and tend to stick to things that mention it or bodyslide.

Any opinion is good for me  - and what about things like textures? Hairs? Hairs is a freaking important thing for overal beauty, as for me, and I never managed to find a nice pack of them.

Few weeks back there was a big thread on exactly that topic.... unp wins the opinion poll imo and actually it wins especially in the context of SL.

Between CBBE and UNP, definitely UNP, never really liked CBBE, and not to mention that UNP is 99% compatible with stuff made for UNPB and 7Base; now for the textures, this is a tricky one, there are a lot of great texture mods for UNP, like SG Female Textures Renewal, Real Girls Realistic Body Texture, Fair Skin Complexion, Mature Skin...etc; and for hairs, the best ones are Apachii Hair and SG Hairs. I personally use Temptress race with 7Base Bombshell BBP body, Fair Skin Complexion textures and SG/Apachii hairs !!!

I would go with Seven base instead of either of those. It's a beautiful hybrid between CBBE and UNP that has the BBP and skeleton of UNP with the curves of CBBE. You can still use textures made for the UNP body which is really nice. Shocky has done some great armor conversions for seven base that will convince you more than anything I can say. http://www.loverslab.com/topic/20917-sevenbase-conversions-bombshellcleavage-with-bbp/

This thing http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/269-devious-devices-assets/ doesn't seem to work with seven base though.

If there was a big thread maybe it makes sense to finally make a guid or FAQ on this matter? It would be really helpful. I know I can get a guide from a different site but I want it to be compatible with SexLab! So it means there might be a different set of possible issues, etc.

Also thank you for the replies!

I feel like UNP is too exaggerated and unrealistic.  I prefer CBBE.

UNP body is too exaggerated and unrealistic ?!? That's new for me, have you ever used UNP ?!? UNP is just an "aged" female body mod, but nevertheless is still awesome and In terms of realistic female body, UNP is one of the most realistic possible, if not the most realistic, there's absolutely nothing of that in UNP, I think it's the other way around !!!

The thing is, someone can say the exact same thing about CBBE. There's no true "one size fits all" body, since everyone's tastes are different.

I'm not 100% set on any one body right now, i switch between CBBE and UNP variants (Bodyslide'd to some more realistic proportions in either case, if need be) depending on whichever i can get working with HDT and such.

I am 100% set on Maevan's Mature Skin textures, though, so i personally recommend that at least. It has both UNP and CBBE textures, so you're good to go either way.

take mod organizer, create 2 profiles, 1 unp another cbbe and test a bit, at start goes all good, but with time for sure will choose one.

UNP - because there are less troubles for me - all UNP clothes that I ever have installed fits perfectly. This was not the case for CBBE bodies.

UNP - because there are some very nice adult clothes and armor for UNP (eg. elewin) that are not available for CBBE.

Fancy topic, really. If you want my two cents. I was hard-ass CBBE user, and i really disliked the legs from the UNP body, kinda looked like matchsticks to me.

Well, then came Sevennity with 7B, the wider shoulders made it for me, so now i'm a 7B user for quite some time already. 7B is based on UNP, what do we learn of that?

Basically, choose what you like. There's no better or badder in terms of the body mods out there. It's a matter of taste, nothing else.

Discussions, even comments about bashing any body type and getting on peoples asses for that is plain and simple stupidity, unfortunately there's no stupidity body mod out yet so these people have to wait.

Armors can be converted and that's pretty much it.

I was a CBBE user until the Tera Armors came out. Even then it took me awhile to make a change. It wasn't unitl I tried UNPB that I got hooked. I only use that body now. If I change again it will probably be to 7B.

What, as opposed to default CBBE's sedate proportions? Well that's certainly a novel perspective.  Is this maybe a case of acronym blindness or something?

Well I have to admit I remember the day CBBE came out and I was so excited to get rid of the vanilla body with underwear poorly removed through nifskope which didn't quite work yet.  Then I remember being one of the first people to compile a CBBE 2 vanilla replacer using mostly Killerkeo's meshes and Zonzai's textures.  So the bottom line is that CBBE was the first body and it has considerably more support.  When UNP first came out folks were calling it the slim body.  I use and prefer UNPB but the diversity of variations is somewhat problematic.  There is not as much support for UNP and with all the variations the support gets further split.  There are some outfits only UNP and some are only CBBE.

All that being the facts I would honestly go with the one you like the most.  There are plenty of mods out there for both and they are both good bodies.  Whichever you pick though stick with it.  I have found that trying to use multiple bodies in Skyrim is very problematic.  Mods like Deadly Mutilation need one body and if you switch it causes problems.

Hmm and what about male bodies? I have just discovered the joys of using this new immersive 1st person view plugin - AND ITS REALLY AWESOME YAY - except now I am more concentrated on watching male bodies, and it starts bothering me that they have no proper naked textures~

Guess I will just look it up on Nexus but again - is there a particular trend?

I'll be honest,

no body-replacer currently present in Skyrim is realistic.. are not maintained the golden ratio

arms and legs are too long or too short, waist circumference is too tight.. the head is too small and hands too big.

but people want women anime-manga style or as Barbie...

one that is closest to anatomical proportions is Ladybody (Luis Royo or Boris Vallejo style).

but damn, this is a fantasy game!  :D

I chose the HDT-CBBE version of ChronoTrigger with bodyslyde, because I can quickly create a body that I like.

I look forward to C.I.T.R.U.S release  ;)
