NEWB QUESTION: CBBE or UNP - which one to choose?

You are in luck, Shocky released a DD (assets) 2.8.1 conversion for 7B just 2-3 weeks ago i think. Its in here somewhere:

Oh and as other people already mentioned, might as well go with all of them, since you can just make multiple profiles in MO. Probably a really good idea to watch some youtube videos on how to use MO, it definately helped me.

I used CBBE for a long time because bodyslide let me make whatever kind of body I wanted, so that whole "unrealism" thing stopped applying after I figured out how to work it.  A lot of people said UNP was better for this or that reason, but I avoided switching because I couldn't find any reference to bodyslide in any of it, and I didn't want to be stuck with someone else's ideal proportions, because this is the internet and I know exactly what people are like out here.  However, in a similar thread to this one, someone linked a bodyslide UNP thing hosted just here on LL, so I've switched to that and am playing around with it to see what I like.  So far, it seems ok.

 

Bottom line of this story, both bodies do their job, bodyslide is a wonderful thing and the best way to decide which one you want to use is to just try them both.  I think CBBE has some distortion issues with some custom animations or something because it's lower poly than UNP, but I might have that wrong.  I just remember seeing something along those lines recently.

i'm using UNPB and i love it. it has the most realistic body propositions currently out right now.

I'll be honest,

no body-replacer currently present in Skyrim is realistic.. are not maintained the golden ratio. 

arms and legs are too long or too short, waist circumference is too tight.. the head is too small and hands too big. 

 

but people want women anime-manga style or as Barbie...

one that is closest to anatomical proportions is Ladybody (Luis Royo or Boris Vallejo style).

 

 

but damn, this is a fantasy game!   

I chose the HDT-CBBE version of ChronoTrigger with bodyslyde, because I can quickly create a body that I like.

 

I look forward to C.I.T.R.U.S release 

 

 

Hell, i'd be trying out LB if the download site allowed non-registered users to download stuff (or the author put the download up on an english site). The whole place is in russian, and while i can circumvent that well enough with the magic of google translate, i kinda need either a russian keyboard so i can do its Captcha, or an explanation of just what the hell the Captcha wants from me since i've copy/pasted in the characters that appear but nothing i do actually works, it just says i didn't enter in the right code.

You can not make any body replacer as ugly as vanilla....

I use CBBE slim, but to get jiggly and bust/breast increasing support in CharacterMakingExtender, I installed Realistic Ragdolls and Force first, then UNP's skeleton, then installed CBBE Slim over that. I also use the "Less Makeup" face replacements. I wanna mess with Bodyslide because it's a nifty tool, but I just cannot figure it out.

There's "CBBE Vanilla" in the main CBBE mod. It's the CBBE body with CBBE textures shaped to look like vanilla. But it doesn't support BBP/TBBP/HDT.

I'm a big fan of UNP, but Ladybody 3 (Demonica) is freaking amazing. By far the most realistic and most highly detailed. Although, in my game profile using Demonica I have all the female NPCs using Base UNP-HDT/TBBP with FSC Univision textures and that is wonderful as well, and more realistically proportioned than most.

Almost the same thing here, I use 7B Bombshell BBP for my character, and UNP BBP with SG textures for the general female population !!!

Were I still actually playing Skyrim...I'd honestly consider a male play through.

 

Make follower mods that cover a wild spectrum of bodies, download follower mods and female NPC replacers...go crazy. I'm thinking I'd play it in a manner similar to the old Conan comics...going town to town and bedding women, or occasionally bringing along a "Red Sonja" (follower with combat skills) to help me adventure...and also bed.

 

It'd make the choice of what body to use nearly nullified, and change how I've always played the game in the past. But then, I'm not still playing the game

If you don't care about Bodyslide, pick a UNPbased body.  My preference would be UNPBO or 7BO (for the 7B thighs), it's a local delicacy.  If you want bigger hips than what the basic UNP provides, pick something like UNPC or UNPK.  If you care about Bodyslide, CBBE bodyslide is the more supported and complete so far.

Well, true but that would mean either browsing around for the relevant skeleton or edit the xp32 one for the analogies he wants.  I'm pretty sure the OP doesn't really want to go through all that  Plus, they're all still UPN based so even if he later decides to switch to another from that list, he'll have minimum issues as far as textures and armor compatibility go.

 

It'd have been nice if expired's Bodymorph project had a full release, that'd be cool.

If you want an ordinary body that you can found everywhere even in rl, more like the body of all the rl models superstar, go for UNP. ( im talking about standard UNP)

 

If you want something customizable, something with more curves, something a bit more rare in rl. Not specially unrealistic cause you can edit it as you wish, then go for CBBE.

 

The two bodies are very popular now, so you can found a lot of armors on both.

Try them all and see which one is too your liking. At the end of the day it's down to personal tastes. I personally prefer CBBE and have tried others like UNP, UNPB and 7Base but in the end I always come back to CBBE. For me, CBBE was a godsend for my Skyrim experiences. The earliest nude body mod was a simple retexture of the vanilla underwear which resulted in the females looking like they had a borked boob job. I went back to the vanilla underwear.

 

Then CBBE came out and although Bodyslide wasn't created yet, it was still heaps over what we had before. Ever since then I've stuck with CBBE, even when UNP and 7B came out and I tried them, I still ended up preferring CBBE and it's variants (I use Fitness Bodyslide C slide). I guess the sight of the first CBBE body sort of imprinted itself on my brain which I is why I am biased to it.

I think you have to choose the body of your female characters depending on what you like about the mods available.

 

If you want to taste lovers's lab mod, as devious device, maybe you should take CBBE because mods like Captured Dream's s Shop are only available for CBBE body.
