Deviously Cursed Loot LE 9.0 (2021-03-09)

Hey, not sure if it's a CL event setup or a sexlab issue but could someone point me in a good direction before I start dismantling those mods and reinstalling etc... :)

 

On Solicitation and having a threesome, I'm not getting the animations (the regular ones work). On checking the log there's some actor setup error with my player character being assigned twice.  Checked the sexes etc to make sure the conditions could be satisfied.

After a bit of fiddling with the mod, there are a few things I'd like to ask for, though if anyone has any suggestions on other mods that might do the same I'd appreciate it.

 

First, the device comments: I like the idea of having people sometimes comment on your bondage, but having a comment happen on the first NPC I talk to, and then no one else until a set time passes, seems a bit odd.  Perhaps have a percentage chance to get a comment, with each NPC having its own cooldown before they check for a comment again?  Also, perhaps a universal cooldown on how much time must pass before someone does something more than just comment, if comments can happen more often?

 

Second, would it be possible to add a dialog option to ask an NPC for help getting out of bonds?  Perhaps with a random table of what they'll ask for in return (gold, sex, perhaps nothing), a chance to just deny you outright, or a chance to punish you with more bondage or other things...

DD - More Devious Quest is probably what you are looking for in terms of more random and varied comments on devices.  That mod has a whole lot more included than that, but it is modular and you can turn off whatever you don't want.  It seems to play well with DDCL, I get my Cursed Loot comments just fine and then have the other comments for the in-between time.

 

The Cursed Loot comments are still the more dangerous with the chance of randomly being tossed into more items however!

I have what seems like a bug: I have E.L.L.E. as a companion and when recently, a trap was triggered, we were both outfitted pretty solidly. Luckily, I had a bunch of keys with me, so once I got Serana, who we had just dug out, to remove my armbinders, I could remove the other stuff from ELLE. I even took it out of her inventory. Yet she still whines that people might see the devices on her, and every time we enter a new location, needs to be recharged. Yet there's nothing on her, and no more dialogue options regarding her restraints either.

 

That's not my mod, that's More Devious Quests.

 

 

It's both mods, of course, since it was your mod which put the devices on the characters....

OH1972, you use faulty logic. If Mod A adds an item to the character and Mod B uses that item but makes an error in the usage, then Mod A is not the problem. You should also notice how More Devious Quests (mod B in my example) is still in beta, so errors are to be expected. In fact, you should go report it there in order to help the author bugfix it.

In fact, I already reported it there, but you are using faulty logic yourself. There are no items to be used, there's (third party) code to be used and information to be handed over that said code should be used. And if there's a problem in that hand-over, if certain flags aren't set the way they should be, then funny things can happen. Which is why it's best if all parties involved are informed to double-check. Note that it's not only MDQ which behaved strangely, but Sexlab Stories as well.

You seem to make the assumption that information of any kind is exchanged between Cursed Loot and MDQ. That assumption is incorrect. Cursed Loot and MDQ have no direct dependencies. Cursed Loot equips DD items. MDQ has code to detect DD items. That's...all. According to your own bug report, the items got unequipped from ELLE correctly (you didn't post a log, so I have to assume that your report is accurate), so the Cursed Loot side of things seemed to work fine.

Continuing updates: Tested again with Estrus reactivated, also no effect.

 

 

 

Let's check something first. Are you using an older version of DCL or have you upgraded from an earlier version of DCL in your current game?

 

EDIT: I can't see anything that jumps out from your log (I only had a brief look) but it doesn't look too healthy with the large amount of log spam from BYOHHouseBuildingPlayerScript and stack dumps from dunBluePalaceArenaSCRIPT I don't know what mods are causing it but that might be worth sorting out for starters

 

Have you tried starting a new character and testing it btw?

Had a small bug today, I wanted to equip a blindfold normally, but instead it equipped a red blindfold and nothing was showing up in my inventory.

 

It did show up in my console inventory, and I could remove.item it like that, but I think maybe it was some sort of leftover from a previous cursed loot event that never triggered maybe?

 

I still get duplicate items at times, so maybe it tried to equip 2 bindfolds earlier, then procc as I manually wanted to equip one.

 

Forgot to exit and get the papyrus unfortunatly though, should really remember to do that!

 

Cursed loot is pretty much the only dd mod I have that equips stuff on you iirc, so it prob was caused by it.

There were too many new pages since I read this forum, so I didn't read them all. I saw there was some talk about DH and I'd like to add a little to it in hope nobody mentioned this before. :)

 

I use DH too, but I set my triggers only to Blindfold and Armbinder, because those are which make the character mostly helpless (IMO). I found it kind of annoying, that wearing even just a single Leg cuff made my character up for the grabs.

 

Atm, DCL features this too, NPCs use their super x-ray eyes to notice a chastity bra under the armor and that enables them to just rape the character if they feel like it. Kimy said that they will lose the x-ray eyes, but I really hope I can set it up which devices can trigger the rape too. I think most of the devices let the character to defend herself in the time of need.

 

And while we are here, a tiny request: it would be nice if the Solicitation bondage sex would use a bit more variations. For example now the Zaz pack has Yoke animations, but the Solicitation always uses Armbinder only.

How do you mean, equipping a blindfold normally? As in equipping it voluntarily from your inventory? If yes, Cursed Loot has nothing to do with that, that's handled by the framework. The duplicates are sort of a known issue, though. I think I cut them down a lot, but yes, this is something that will be addressed in the next major patch that will see a major overhaul of the item selector.

I will add a routine that boils down to "visible items only" for the device comments. It's also something that won't be in the next patch, though.

 

I experimented with adding yokes to the solicitation scenes, but it didn't work right. While there are animations for yoke sex available, they seem to be implemented differently than the armbinder anims and it seems that I cannot select them directly using the normal method in SexLab. Which makes them unusable for me.

But you demonstrate the precise opposite - that my assumption is correct. Cursed Loot tells the game to add certain DD items. MDQ checks for their presence. Now, it might be that MDQ fails to re-test and thus realize devices have been removed. That would be a problem with MDQ. It can just as well be that DD doesn't properly clean up after itself and some of the information remains. Or that Cursed Loot adds information about equipped items in such a fashion that MDQ detects it, but DD doesn't clean it, due to some mistake in implementing the DD code. Which would not be MDQs mistake.

 

Make of it what you want, nobody's forcing you to double-check. But given your introduction of sundry specialized keys and devices that resist console removal, I simply have my doubts about that all being nice and clean. All the more since the last couple of times my PC was equipped with a full set by Cursed Loot, the game CTDed moments later, reproducibly.

amazing mod...but i got a strange issue that prevents me from the progression of the cursed collar quest..when the pc wear the cursed slave harness the game doesn't read it as the cursed slave harness..

it's color doesn't match the other cursed items ( doesn't have that glossy texture) it's only leather.. could it be that the cursed collar texture is the mere problem for this ??

 

please help me fix this issue ..

 

 

one more thing do i need the nasty critters mod for this to work properly ..??

I am not sure what's going on there. The harness should match the other items in looks and have a "Cursed" name prefix. If that's not the case...did you maybe just equip the wrong harness? Also, there is a bug-feature in the DD framework that makes every armour-blocking harness (such as the Cursed one) invisible by default. You have to change the device hider settings in Devious Devices to make them appear.

Certainly can't hurt, I'd advise trying to start a new character with a minimal load order to make sure it is a problem with your install and not some conflict.  You can start with a super basic load order (SL/DD/Zaz/DCL/Alternate Start and their requirements) and just add the items you are having problems with via console.  If they work normally, you probably have a mod that is breaking things in your main file.  If not, something's probably borked with your install.

I really mean no offense, but "visible items only" as trigger for rape is not good enough IMO. For example if you wear a gag or a pair of pony boots, you can still easily hack any offender to little pieces.

 

If you meant that "visible items only" is for comments only, that is more than ok, in fact I'd like an option to disable this restriction, because I like your comments and don't want to lose the ones for invisible devices.

 

And while we are talking about visible/invisible devices, NPCs should not give you keys if they don't see devices on you.

All of the mods involved are up to date, I checked on that once the problem had started, and all the mods on the game presently were installed at the start of the game. I recently attempted to clean out my existing savegames, only to invalidate them all, and having to start entirely anew.

 

As for those, I'm not sure what either of those would be caused by. I can't think of a single mod of mine that specifically affects anything in the Blue Palace or house building stuff.

 

I'll attach my mod list, if it might help figure things out...

There's some mods in there that I've not heard of but nothing that would appear to be a problem.

 

You say that those mods do not affect house building or the Blue Palace, nevertheless your log is being spammed with errors so something is causing a problem (or something that you've uninstalled previously). What mod manager are you using to install mods and are you using LOOT to sort them?

 

I assume from what you said that a save game cleaner effectively killed your save which would indicate serious problems. Cleaners can be effective when used in a controlled manner (e.g. remove one mod then clean, save and then replace mod with update) but they can't work miracles and where there are historic or multiple script problems can break a game entirely. Also the effects from some scripts simply cannot be removed (usually when NPC AI is changed) and the only answer is to start a new game.

 

It might be best to take this to pm (though I'm not sure I can help further) as it's not really a DCL issue so getting off topic

Version 4.5

- Added: New sex scenes. Tired of seeing the same old bandits each time you get used? Not anymore! By default, scenes will now use whatever is available near you, including hostile mobs (that will forget that they actually want to kill you as long as they can use you in other ways). The new scenes are configurable, so you can pick what circumstance will trigger them (e.g. being naked, unarmed or aroused) and how often they can happen. You can also optionally enable humanoid creatures (Draugr, Falmer, Skeletons, Trolls, Spriggan etc.) and beast races (Khajiit and Argonians). If you don't want to see town guards and elder people taking advantage of you, there is a switch for them too.
- Added: Ebonite/leather variants of the restrictive set introduced in DD Expansion 1.2.1 have been added to the drop list.
- Added: New Simple Rubber Boots and Simple Rubber Gloves that now drop in standard events instead of their Slave variants and require standard keys to unlock. Simple Rubber Gloves might still get linked by NPCs.
- Added: New Slave Rubber Collar that will now equip on you together with the rest of the slave rubber set.
- Added: Solicitation bondage sex scenes will now use more and more different types of restraints (everything but chastity devices and piercings can be chosen) and remove only what they actually applied.

What is best way to upgrade mid game to 4.5 ? Clean save reinstall ? Or overwriting esp with new one is enough ?

Make sure you're not wearing any device and that no Cursed Loot quest is currently running. Then uninstall the old version and install the new one. I'd generally never install a new version of any mod without uninstalling the old one, tbh.
