Mass Effect 3

Well I can now confirm that romances started in ME 2 DON'T count in game ending...

So that's bad news for Tali/Miranda/Jack fans...

As you can see on the screen

Flashback Ashley/Liara.

So if you romanced Tali/Miranda/Jack you will see..Liara.

Since she's cannon LI for Shepard.

Fail bioware -_-

I still don't want to belive this. I still hope that Bioware will fix the endings and the ME2 romances. Crap. They should have spend the resorces from the MP to the SP (btw as soon as they said that there will be a MP I knew the single player will suffer). Mass Effect don't need MP! And as always - FUCK EA! And I'm so mad at myself that I don't have the will to cancel my CE pre-order. Either way this is the last Bioware game I'm buying.

There's no chance of Bioware releasing a magic fix, but there is still hope for them as developers.

Bioware might get a clue yet,

http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Dragon-Age-3-Inspired-By-Skyrim-37991.html

apparently they are looking at skyrim for idea's in what direction to take DA 3, and are once again considering a large open world enviorment.

If the rumor mill is true again and they intend to keep producing ME games then possibly they will learn once again what not to do.

AKA Skyrim raped our pants. And we released a piss poor mediocre product that got 4.0 ratings from our fans, we're just gonna rip off Bethesda and hope that the magic pony formula works.

ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL OF THIS GAME DEVELOPMENT.

I WILL IGNORE YOU PERSONALLY

CHOICE IS AND ILLUSION

THERE IS NO DIALOGUE, THERE IS NO CHOICE. WE ARE EA.

>GEARS CLONE. VIABLE POSSIBILITY. EASY TO PLEASE AUDIENCE AND CHEAPER PRODUCTION COSTS. SHOWS GREAT DLC POTENTIAL.

>THIS HURTS YOU

GAMERS, YOU ARE BECOMING AN ANNOYANCE.

LOW RATINGS, AND MEDIOCRE REVIEWS AND YOU FEEL THIS IS A VICTORY.

KNOW THIS AS YOU BUY OUR PRODUCT IN VAIN.

YOU WILL BEG FOR DLC...

Ah I had to run along with it. :)

Having read all the spoilers and now having looked through the bink files that came with the pre-load, it appears that the endings really are going to be junk. I didn't want to believe all the forum talk but now...........

This simply looks like laziness on bioware side of things. What is the point of being a super-bad-ass hero if the best you can accomplish is:

[spoiler=Spoiler's Inside So BEWARE]

1. losing your crew forever

2. losing your LI forever

3. can't keep your LI from previous game - but forced to use "their" LI

4. regardless if you do every possible side mission and make every correct choice you just "live"?????????

Sad, AND Lazy.......smells like this isn't the wrap up they said, but rather the spring board for more ME stuff just not with shepard. Didn't they learn anything from DA2 about character switching and lack of decent varied endings? Hell they seemed to have these things down in both ME and ME2, so why the change?

Guess they forgot about the rule: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

the change is EA, ME was done and out the door before bioware was sold to EA, ME 2 was either in its late stage of development or released I forget which. Either way EA had no control over that as it was far to late to fuck it up, but me 3 is EA's brand spanking new fucking ground.

No one at Bioware is going to put the blame where it belongs they cant after all its not just the job of the whistle blower at stake but the jobs of everyone at Bioware.

The best they can hope for is that the story thats left makes up for EA's stupidity and that it over shadows the severe lack of dialog and party interaction, the shit animations, piss poor models lousy endings, plot points that make no sense due to cuts, others that become abandonware or are later contradicted only to be brought up yet again in the sequel before being permanently sent to the story line grave yard

unfortunately for bioware EA truly is in the game

@GSBmodders - Yea, sadly you are likely right. Remembering back to ME2, EA had just brought Bioware into its fold and didn't have a chance to "tweak" it before it went out the door. Guess they more than "made up" for it on this run.

Folks talk about Skyrim being rushed but this game with its endings and lack of meaningful choices may very well become the new definition for "rushed".

I very much hope I am wrong but I will find out like most others Tuesday at midnight.

[spoiler=Slightly Offtopic]

All of this reminds me of what EA did to Command and Conquer with the disaster bockel that the final release was (C&C4). That series was by far my "holiest of hollies" when it came to strategy games simply because I had enjoyed each release for well over a decade. I loved C&C even more than the total war series simply because of the history and subject matter. I played C&C4 for a total of two hours over the course of 4 different occasions trying my best to "like it". I finally realized that painting a turd silver just makes it a silver turd! So I uninstalled it and traded it in.

Why couldn't ea stick to sports games and consoles??????

Posted

The multiplayer was outsourced. Still has absolutely no business in the game though, especially with it effecting "galactic readiness". Not only was it forced into a series that just had two single player games it's absolute crap. I don't even play online normally, only tried it with the demo here.

So there's only 4 possible endings? Well 5 I guess.

Joke's on them. I never had a LI with my 2 main characters and don't care about Liara. In fact I set her up to die with one character. Some moral choice that is. :P Guess they don't remember Sheppard threatening to throw her down a hole in the first game if you recruited her and were mean.

Funny on the Liara deal!!! :P

The number of endings is not so much my gripe but rather how each is unsatisfactory at best.

I could have lived with three if you pear it down:

1. Did all side missions and recruited all races for the fight = epic win and you go into the sunset with your LI on the way to a bbq with your crew.

2. You didn't do many side missions and brought only a few races to the fight = won a pyrrhic victory. Pretty much crew dead and LI dying/dead with you crippled or something.

3. Didn't do shit for side missions and just show up for the battle = Reapers spank your butt and you die along with all other organic life.

This was the formula that you kinda had for ME2 with the crew. It worked great, so why change at the tail end of the series?

Folks argue that "hey, this is galactic war" as if that is some kind of excuse for crappy writing.

Earth already is reduced to a steaming pile of ashes and most of the races fleets are smashed in the victory. I am also fine that the citadel and relays are gone, as that efficiently sets the tone for a new direction if they want to make a non-shepard spin-off.

Oh, well...........:s

Posted

Well ME2 had three endings.

Live well, live poorly with most or nearly all of your team dead, or die. With an option of blow it up or keep it.

I know most people have finished ME2 but yeah, it's still better :P

That was a good one...

that says everything and is a historically accurate description of EA's business practice both past and present.

#Edit

heres something thats really going to piss off people, apparently

after you talk to your squad members a few times all they have left is kasumi style dialog, even your LI.

I knew this was going to dialog light in comparison to other versions but I had no idea we were in for this

Automatic dialog choices account for at least half of the game.

Paragon / Renegade is no longer a possibility but an absolute necessity in regards to choice.

Investigation and deeper character dialog is no longer present.

Character - Character interactions are reduced.

Atmospheric construction of locations is reduced.

Environmental graphic scenes are lower.

Combat-based gameplay is the new priority.

Skill-trees are set up to be similar to other combat-based games, not an RPG.

Endings are dismissive and while debatably logical, not satisfying.

Playthrough time of game is an est. 28 hours full, no longer 40.

GJ Bioware -_-

this is why piracy exits, they charged fans a premium for a 20 buck special

They said that ME3 is made by other inside studio, and it wont suck as DE2 did. It seams that they were wrong and we will lost another fine game.

@windpl

Multiplayer was made by other studio and in fact is really good comparing to tragic ME 3 by Bioware -__-

How the fuck did they manage to destroy ME 3 so bad.

Posted

I just find it funny that the game uses a deus ex machina and what effectively boils down to space magic, but everyone gets bad endings regardless.

Bit jarring that everyone gets slightly different variants of bad/sad endings after the standards that were set in ME1&2 for happy endings if you made all the right moves/choices. I suppose it's to set the stage for Mass Effect 4.

Save game transfers are fudged. Nothing in the config for it. Might have to muck around in ini files:

C:\Users\NAME\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\Config

and open gamersettings.ini

Copy and paste the folder address for your ME 2 save next to

[saveGames]

Location=

edit so it so it points to your ME2 saves ala:

[saveGames]

Location=C:\Users\NAME\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\Save\

I hope ME3 is good but this thread is getting me worried....EA already ruined the Dragon Age series, they don't need to do it to Mass Effect too.

EA and Activision are the worst things to ever happen to the videogame industry.

Posted

Well I've been playing it for nearly 9 hours non-stop now. I don't mind it outside of the funky consolized movement controls(ie space barrrrrr for evraything!)

There were so many complaints about that on the BSN and I kinda hoped that they will fix that in te PC version... :dodgy: arghhhh....

for those who have problems with importing saves... leave .ini file as it is

what you have to do is.......

create folder Mass Effect 2 in C:\Users\NAME\Documents\BioWare\

copy your saves there...

so it looks like something like this for example

C:\Users\NAME\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\Save\John_32_Soldier_250311\

i backed up whole ME2 folder from Documents\bioware back in a day, so it work like charm for me

then in game just click it to import and there you go, your fav FemShep with dat ass running around with Ash looking damn sweet

Regards

PS: i found something cool to improve graphics and performance:
