Quick As You Like! (A Devious Adventure)

Yeah, that scene is broken. And supposed to be disabled. Like several times over. It seems that the way papyrus handles scripts means that the enablement gets baked into saves sometimes, no matter what I do.

In the next release I'll disable the quest itself I think, rather than just trying to disconnect it from DA. That should stop this happening again.

Meanwhile, try "setstage qayl 1" from the console.

ah ok.

i thought something like this because the cell was not even finished and i know your skills pretty well. :D

I just tested the new version and it worked fine.  I have a few unsolicited suggestions, though!  :D

First, someone mentioned blindfolds a while back.  I think those would work best as a handicap.  "You know, with you winning all the time it's no fun for the other girls.  This should give them a sporting chance, and keep you from thinking you're better than the filthy slut you are."

Also concerning the actual races (once they're ready) it would be nice to have difficulty settings in the MCM.  Playing with RND while very tired and sick with a few things can severely slow one down and it would be nice to be able to set how fast the other contestants can go.

Posted

Well, it would be kind of cross purpose to the mod to be able to handicap it that way. But how about this: if you lose, you go to a cell on a bed where doctors are healing you because they want good competition in the next race.

*foot scuff on the floor*

I liked Devious Derby.  It's a race, and it's alliteration, so fits right in with Devious Devices.

Either way, definitely watching this mod!  I created a new character to run through and had a lot of fun.  I'm working on a regular play-through right now, so I'll have to poke at this again when you're further along. :)

But yeah, some sort of failsafe would be useful for people who get find the key slips through the step, or for whom the plate never triggers. Maybe I'll have a the clam hunter from the nearby camp come by. "Can I help you? I found this key: maybe someone intended you to find it one the step? It must have been dislodged somehow..."

That clam hunter is such a sweety!

Did this not make anyone else laugh out loud?  I'd have thought a clam hunter would be very happy to find a woman in a cage.  Sorry

If you do drop the key he should come over and pick it up and sift through the chest before talking to you, a penatly for your clumsiness.

Devious Derby that someone said is a good idea if you must change the name but QAYL works perfectly well as a chippy instruction to you at the start of the race, and is surely embedded in script/test character names etc so would be less confusing not to rename it?  Maybe give it the ":A Devious Racing mod" in the thread so people get an idea what it is as they skip down the list of massively recommended mods.

How does Devious Pursuits sound to everyone?

First all I love the mod, can't wait to see what becomes of it.

As for the name, isn't it supposed to be a race? Pursuit sounds like someone's chasing you.

Quick as you Like doesn't really sound like a race either.

I thinking of using the blowjob system. For a handicap of one the PC has to show the judge a mouthfull of semen and then swallow it before she's allowed to start running. For handicap of two she has to show him a mouthful of semen, swallow it, and then go and get another one... Could get harder at higher handicap levels as the spectator sperm levels start to drop.

Blindfolds ... could make a fairly short race a lot more interesting. I mean it's not a long distance from the Western Watchtower to Morthal, for instance...

This is more or less what I was thinking. Cursus, for all his failings, isn't about to race anyone unless they're match-fit. Although finding out how to reset needs in RND might take some research. Maybe the best thing would be to give the PC a cell with a shrine and lots of fruit.

I liked Devious Derby! It's a fun name and if I wasn't already attached to QAYL I'd probably use it.

Cool. Call back in a few weeks. You may not recognise the place :)

That clam hunter is such a sweety!

Bonus points if in the end he turns out to be the mastermind behind the whole operation.

I think there's probably more than one possible clam-hunter. Some of them may take whatever is on the PC's belly at face value. I can think of some fun possibilities there...

Ponygirl Olympics . . .

Oral aptitude prequalifiers

Yayy! My lockable pony boots work. Well, apart from being bright purple. But I can fix that.

Proper DD scripts as well, so they get all the DD scripting and handling.

Now to make them inescapable. Boo-hah-hah-hah-hah!

sounds just like a perverted board game like snakes and ladders having lanes you have to get fucked to progress down the lane without having a orgasm but having 1 sends you back 1 spot ;)

Sounds like a fair description of this mod.

Sounds like modding skyrim in general, come to that.

Just got a form id wrong and got a pair of deviously lockable Xinafay ultra high heels. But that's OK, I wanted them, too. And these ones are the correct colour.

I could probably generalise this, you know. Use a JSON database similar to the one in slavetats. Then if you wanted locking shoes from your favourite mod, you could edit the json file and have them set up at run time. It would save a lot on the "can you use the X from mod Y" requests :)

[edit]

Anyone want to see four naked women running across skyrim wearing locked-on stilts, lockable opera gloves and big floppy hats that mysteriously deprive the wearer of the power of speech? Because it could happen at this rate.

(And no, I will not make that the default outfit).

[edit]

(Although if I can find a pair of opera-gloves I like...)

Regarding names, Subtitling it would work, something to give an indication of what it was since at least in my opinion it's kinda vague and open to (mis) interpretation at a glance and i haven't had nearly enough coffee yet to pretend to be clever and offer any suggestion that makes people roll their eyes , was trying to make a bdsm forest gump reference but came up empty.

Beyond that i'll be good and try to just go back to lurking,  otherwise i'll wind up trying to offer unasked for ideas that i have zero idea about the level of work that'd be involved, or even they're even along the lines of what direction you're trying to take the mod.

That would be tricky - for example whether you have deviously helpless installed or not would make quite a difference.

Getting ... attended by bunch of horny bandits would make you loose a lot of time. And I - for example - don't use that mod.

Same could go for things like defeat or SD.

Plus unpredictable factor like dragon attacks and other random events for example.

Won't be easy to set it so it would be challenging but possible to win for everyone.

And i'm not sure if its worth it.

IMO it could be better to go with idea of survival run with several events added along the way to set difficulty.

Might be nice for example to drop player in random location with hidden compass and unavailable map - I know, I'm cruel  :D

Played the latest version available with tats, no heels (I do love heels and look forward to getting to pick). No problems with bizarre color changes or tats overstaying their welcome.

QAYL is a good name. A little confuzzling, perhaps, but proper tags and hundreds of pages in the thread will surely get people's attention. QAYL: A Devious Adventure would work also, as would Devious Pursuits (clever, room for interpretation). If it's not broken, don't agonize over fixing it.

The run itself isn't very interesting for me. This time I skipped most of it through shameless console cheating. It's the story and NPCs that lure me in. Cursus seems to have some work put into his character and remains a point of interest: adversarial, romantic or a mix of both. Words are sexy and there's words here. I like. Races against other contestants or solo runs for some hidden patrons' scrying entertainment makes no difference to me, although the planned handicap sounds revolting. Perhaps some randomness or MCM love is in order.

The brand is delightful. So much could be done with it - and no doubt will be. A mental influence (encourages but doesn't force actions), a scrying anchor, a trigger for dormant spells and effects like the one experienced on cage entry... a plot device done right. Loved the brand's notifications, though an 'n' is missing in 'fantasize'. I'll see if I can bring myself to wait a few versions to try this again, although I doubt I'll resist much if there's plot development in sight.

I completed the race again with the most recent (no fast travel - southern route past Helgen and Captured Dreams house).  I've noticed these ongoing effects.  My guess is the shoulder tattoo is the cause.

During quest:
Orgasm when cage bars slam close.
High arousal but not sure if because running around naked or tattoo. I kept the armbinder on most of the time (putting it back on when npcs removed and map was consulted for ongoing orientation)

Frequent messages which include:
* Remember orgasm when you entered cage
* Daydreaming about being restrained
* Fantasizing about sex behind bars

Also, the more critical issue and why I disabled Cursed Devices - New Arousal minimum in high 90's.

This probably is not yet a complete list of the tattoo's effects so I'll be looking for more.

---additional info---

At the end of the race, I wanted to change the color of the Rosette.  I consoled an extra solvent and then tried to readd the tattoo by SlaveTats.  I could not add the tattoo manually. Not sure if that is intended.

Great Mod!

Blowjobs handicaps and blindfolds for short stretches... brilliant, that must be why you're in charge!

As for the RND thing, please don't use shrines.  I'm sure I'm not the only one to have "shrines cure disease" turned off.  Cure disease potions would work just as well and not look out of place (I can't imagine a slave dungeon with a shrine to Mara, it'd have to be some kind of Daedric shrine and that would mean a lot of work).  A cell with fruit, cure potions, a bed, and some kind of "start race object/npc" would work.

Now that's odd. The brand I can understand since it's just another tatoo, but the same script that unlocks you should add the solvent to the chest.

Did you try a clean save?

Yep I did.

I may have installed the latest tat pack wrong though. It didn't have a data folder so Mod Organizer couldn't install it automatically. So I put it in the older Tat pack (one that mod organizer wás able to install automatically) and simple overwrote the files. That probably wasn't the correct way to install it.

I did think about "Run, Deviant, Run!" must admit. But I ended up being sandbagged by memories of an ancient comic cover with Nemesis The Warlock and Torquemada and ... and if anyone out there knows what I'm talking about then you're showing your age ;)

I don't mind ideas and suggestions. I don't promise to adopt any of them, but I don't mind them :)

I think it's probably inevitable that some people are going to find this easier than others. Slipping your bonds and turning vampire lord will probably be a win every time. Unless you take sun damage and have to spend all day in the cage.

I'm not going to worry too much about balance for now. Sometimes this mod is going to be just plain unfair. I'll try and some options to keep it playable, but some players are going to come in here saying "I thought this was supposed to be had. LOL!" While others are going to say "how the hell is anyone expected to live through all that?" I'm pretty much OK with that :)

Well, I wouldn't use that handicap all the time - that was a bit of a tease. I have a few ideas I might try, not all of them revolting. At least I hope not :)

Pretty good. You've got a lot of the pieces. They just need putting together into the big picture.

You should be able to add it. I wonder if I'm accidentally locking on a blank dds. I'll look into it.

OK, good point. I always forget about cure disease potions for some reason. Probably because shrines are everywhere...

So I put it in the older Tat pack (one that mod organizer was able to install automatically) and simple overwrote the files. That probably wasn't the correct way to install it.

Can you add them with slavetats? Can you add other tats with slavetats?

If I remember right, the tat packs start with textures. That way if you unpack them into Skyrim/data they end up in the right place. For MO you can probably create a data folder when you get the install window and then move the textures folder into that and select the data folder you just created. That should work.

The files should appear in Data\textures\actors\character\slavetats. There should be two json files: qayl.json and qayl_locking.json and a folder called QAYL.

Inside the folder are sub-folders: belly back numbers rosettes and teams. Inside those folders are the dds files with the actual tattoo art.

I might try packing them from data for MO. I'll think about that when I'm more awake than I am right now ;)

Looking forward to the use of permanent lock, you cannot untie yourself, when you asleep in the cage, the other (I don't remember the name) will come and help you to unlock the locks .
