jfraser Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 When my character is attacked, are the bruising/cuts/etc effects supposed to automatically apply themselves? No. Textures are only applied because of accrued 'abuse' resulting from either non-consensual sex, or animations tagged as 'aggressive'. Nothing to do whatsoever with combat. But yes, they do automatically apply at the proper times. The proper time just isn't during combat.

The textures are applied shortly after orgasm event from SL.
prideslayer Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Another question.. how is that MCM thing "coming along"? Do you need a hand there? Have you considered using whatever it is that the SLA widget is using to display arousal levels? I popped it open in the CK but the author didn't include the script source so I can't say just how it works or if it also has a length limit, but as a hud element it's not using the debug notification.

Fine fine. The author of SLA widget and I got our code (it appears) from the same source (SkyUI author schlangster). I think I started mine before his, but he released first. My widget manager has several differences from the SLA widget, however. Like threading affinity (you want the same SL animation messages to go back to the same widget instance throughout the life of the animation), multiline text, message fading, etc. Its a set of different challenges than just displaying arousal numbers. The release is going to be pretty big, and the Text widget is only part of it. Also included are themes, which is pretty big.
Grimbold the unlovely Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Sounds wonderful! Will we able to use existing save gamss or will this change (like the shift from sexlab from 1.39 to the 1.50s) be so huge that we will have to start over with completely new characters?

New game most likely. Lots of changes.
prideslayer Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 You can clean apropos out (or anything else) out pretty easily with the savegame tool. There's a "mod list" thing in there that nobody really mentions, but you can select the mod you want, then tell it to delete all records from that mod. After that do all the script cleaning stuff as normal and you'll be good to go. You don't need to get into the game and save without the mod loaded (which often crashes) in order for this to work. I cleaned every mod (including DLC) out of a lvl 30ish save this way over the weekend.

Actually I have had both positive and negative experience using the cleaners. I have used in the past both Savetool and PDT. I know Ashal has endorsed (to some degree) the use of PDT, although that has completely broken a save for me in the past. I don't know why, but Savetool seems to be a "gentler" tool. I'm not an expert, just someone who has cleaned saves plenty of times. When I test during my development, I always create new games, rather than clean.
prideslayer Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Savetool works better for me too. PDT has a more "advanced looking" interface but since I found that mod cleaner part of savetool, there isn't a save I haven't been able to recover.
Guest Jezzy Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 woooo! can't wait for the next version of Apropos

I remember using one of this cleaner (pdt I think) and every time I got load that save the iNeed keywords were not working anymore and I had to reset them manually anytime. Something which really should not be touched by the cleaning process. Maybe it was something on my end... but anyway I become quite wary of the cleaning process. Gooser I never told you that... but apropos is another great Loverslab mod. I think should be heralded everywhere for it's originality. Unfortunately i would be very difficult to make a video out of it given it's exclusively sexual content... But who knows. Maybe I'll think of a work around. And since we are at it... what are "themes"....

Pride this option to look for specific mod is from the latest Savetool. I'm using an older version (because my antivirus block the new one). do you know any workaround about that?
prideslayer Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Tell your antivirus to ignore the directory you put savetool in, or contact whoever makes that AV program and tell them it's getting a false positive on that application.
karlpaws Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I like making new games to try out new mods, restart storylines, or just do something with a new character concept.. about as far as I get role playing. Only thing I wish I knew was how to keep/save/transfer all of the settings I have to re-do in the MCM for ~14 mods. Def waiting for the new version update.

I've considered using some kind of import/export like SL does. Maybe using FISS, or Jcontainers.
originalwankster Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 It'd be awesome if you included that at some point; I wish more mods did. MCM config is definitely my least favorite thing about new games.
GnatB Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Why does the massage pop up in reverse? and it fade in and out to fast for me to read, it there a setting for it? thanks. It pops up in reverse so that you can, ideally, read the whole message top to bottom once all of the lines have been printed in the notification area. It also prints to the console, so if you miss it, you can open the console and read it there, though you will have to read the lines bottom to top instead of top to bottom. What I want to know is, why is it still giving me 'reducing [actor]'s sexual wear and tear' notifications, when I have the wear and tear completely turned off? (Or at least, I think I do?) Any chance of giving the option to reverse the order so the first part of the sentence shows up first? I can't speak to anybody else, The first (last) part of the sentence is usually fading out just about the time the beginning fades in, so you practically have to read the sentence backwards. And constantly popping open the console isn't really a good answer. I'd far prefer to read them as they fade in, and have to read bottom to top if I wait, than have to wait until they've all faded in and read top to bottom. Having them fade in sequentially is sort of pointless if you have to wait until they're all there before you start anyways. Additionally, any chance of an option to limit the messages to people in the general area? I kinda like the "horny thoughts" messages, but when they're horny thoughts of somebody I banged 2 days ago on the other side of the hold, it's a put offputting. (P.S. As somebody who'se worked on a lot of UI's, I'd strongly have to argue that it should either all pop in at once if it reads top down, (which I'm not sure you have control over? Haven't done much work on the console but maybe you can just insert \n's and display as 1 string?) Or it should read in the order it appears.)

dpgillam Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 If Im reading this right, we can alter the list of synonyms just by opening the text file and adding or deleting at will to the specific lists? If this is correct, can we send in fun synonym list change recomendations?
chajapa Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 If Im reading this right, we can alter the list of synonyms just by opening the text file and adding or deleting at will to the specific lists? If this is correct, can we send in fun synonym list change recomendations? You can change the synonymns but be sure if you submit something that you've run it through the json validator to be sure it's valid json after editing. One missed comma or misplaced one and the file won't parse.
gooser Posted February 22, 2015 Author Posted February 22, 2015 If Im reading this right, we can alter the list of synonyms just by opening the text file and adding or deleting at will to the specific lists? If this is correct, can we send in fun synonym list change recomendations? Yes, as Chajapa says, the changes need to be valid JSON. You can either use the json_validation.exe to validate a single file change, or even a structure of folders containing json files. Or if that is too hard, you can also use http://jsonlint.com, although sometimes the Json parser inside JContainers (I think) more strictly follows the Json standard. Once you have made valid changes you can activate them by clicking [REFRESH] under message preferences in Apropos MCM. Check the console (~) output for any validation errors. As far as contributing, that is an interesting proposal. People interested in helping with the content have sadly come and gone, but the only one really maintaining active changes is Decauk (my humble apologies to those I may have overlooked!!). That may change soon with the introduction of Apropos Themes. We need people who are interested in theme development (themes are like: slutty, bdsm, "corny" hentai, etc.)
WaxenFigure Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 One thing I have noticed (finally on the current version) is that you get messages about reduced wear and tear for NPCs even if you have the wear and tear system turned off, it seems some code that doesn't need to be running in that situation is still running. Enjoying this much more than the older one but didn't want to switch to it while I had a player only part way through.

Are you seeing a debug type message ("Reducing X's sexual wear and tear...") or more of an immersion message like what is found in FemaleActor_WearTearReduced_Vaginal.txt ?

It's a debug.notification message on screen as I am playing. The message is "Reducing X's sexual wear and tear" though.
