Hentai type messages?

Decauk is apparently too busy to defend himself (possibly tied up playing Dragon Age Inquisition) so I will attempt to answer. Some of the messages have been categorized by some in this forum as in the flavor of hentai fiction - sometimes characterized by ahegao, and netorare (Google is you friend), and Mind-break themes.

I'm a bit puzzled by the Wear and Tear system.

I have tried changing WearAndTear_Damage.txt to make the W&T increase faster, but even if I multiply the damage by a ridiculous amount ("Human" : 800.0, or whatever) the "abuse" level only increases by 1 from every third act or so. (I am raping NPC's rather than having my char raped, if that makes any difference.)

Is there any way to change the W&T values of an NPC through console? Or any other way to make the abuse level increase faster?

That makes all the difference. W&T for abuse only goes up for rapees, not rapers. There currently is no way to edit the W&T levels of NPCs. You can only reset them.

EDIT:

Did you click REFRESH in Apropos MCM  under Message Preferences?

While we're talking about descriptions, might I suggest that in the future, you refrain from using words that might alienate the various races? For example, feeling something on one's skin (actor may have fur or scales), or using the word 'human' to describe the PC when they may be an elf. I mean I know we can edit these ourselves, but most people aren't going to have the patience for literary skill for that.

Thanks Gooser, and yes, that's exactly what's keeping me busy. 2nd playthrough now, Nightmare mode (still way too easy).

Anyway, yes, my db will not appeal to everyone, and it's not supposed to. Any idea how bland a db would need to be to be 'fine' for everyone?

My current db was written for my character, and therefore will not match other people's fetishes or mental images of what their character is like. There are people who won't like that, and that's cool too. Like Gooser's said, my db contains themes of ahegao and netorare, which does it for me. It won't do it for everyone.

Now, I'm perfectly cool with people editing my db in any way they see fit. What I'd also like is for people to post their work! Even if all you've done is to go through my db and remove all the 'enjoying rape' lines, that's cool; someone else will want that. And I'm sure as hell not going to do it.

I'm always happy to review some of the more 'out-there' lines, and certainly some of the stuff I've written before makes me wonder what I was thinking, and often I'll rewrite or even remove them. Definitely some stuff that fits the description of 'corny' in there.

Right now, Gooser's working on a function that will allow easy setting of themes through multiple dbs. And his work is absolutely wasted if mine is still the only db out there.

You want a loving, romantic db? Write it.

You want a comedic, Benny Hill db? Write it.

You want Sacha Gray's style of constant, semi-psychotic dirty talk? Write it.

Use my db if you like. Edit it slightly, butcher it beyond recognition.

Write a full db, write modular pieces someone else can slap into a similar theme.

It's all good, just write and submit something!

Unless you're all good with Apropos being my vision and not yours.

Sorry dude, not going to happen. Not from me, anyway.

If I want to make it compatable with the beast races, then I can't make any references to skin, hair or lips, and all the wonderful adjectives that go with them. See my earlier comments about a db to please everyone being incredibly bland. I don't even want to think of what it would take to write blowjob descriptions that would be compatible with argonians and khajit...

As far as the elves go, I can see your point, but it's all semantics. The game at various points will refer to elves as part of the 'human' races, instead using the term 'men' to distinguish from 'mer', and othertimes doesn't. It's not greatly consistent. As far as the word 'human' goes, I think I only ever used that in certain beast animation files. Although I don't think it breaks immersion to be used to refer to an elf in that context, if it bothers you simply use notepad++, open the entire db (right click on the folder, open with) and then use ctrl+R (replace) and find the word human. Then just switch all instances to something you prefer, like elf.

I've already went out of my way to avoid reference to colourations; skin colour, hair colour, lipstick, to accommodate the different variations players would have. I've also tried to stay away to references to breast size, although players of flat-chest characters may wish to alter or remove some of the {HEAVING} synonyms, which is easily enough done.

I think my db file is perfectly compatible with elves, but I've no interest in making it for argonians and khajit. It would be too much of an overhaul, and those races would be best to have their own files. Since I've no fondness for the furry fetish, I'm really not the best person to write that, I would have no idea what kind of descriptions would appeal to people.

That's all I needed to know, thanks, and thanks again for your work. That db must have taken hours and hours to put together. We appreciate it. :)

I  got not problems with the Decauk db as I just play sluts. Though I did replace instances of 'guy' with men or man. There was one typo that I forget exactly how it went, something like 'if its' where it should be 'if it's'. Also the word bandit isn't capitalized where it should be - so you get messages that go - bandit something your something, when it should be - Bandit something your something.

Posted

Thanks, both of you.

circ, if you have any typos, PM me them so they can be corrected.

The 'bandit' issue is hard to address, because I'm generally not the one typing it; Skyrim is.

When I use {ACTIVE}, the game puts in the name, and it doesn't capitalise generic names, like bandit, wench, whatever. This means that if it pops up at the start of a sentence, it won't be capitalised.

In the human rape files, I assume that this will most likely happen with mods like Defeat, and therefore will be against non-unique actors, and will endeavour to write 'The {ACTIVE}' instead, so it makes more sense. This isn't always the case though. Until Apropos can manage this itself, which I imagine is a pretty major task and pretty far down Gooser's list of priorities, unfortunately it's something we'll have to live with.

Excellent reply, Decauk. Rest assured that most of us do appreciate your work and edit to suit our own tastes  with gratitude to you for giving us such a solid base to work with.

I think my db file is perfectly compatible with elves, but I've no interest in making it for argonians and khajit. Speaking of beast races, is it possible to make a seperate db for those? Or custom races?

I've been thinking of editing my own db for one race, but I have a wide variety of alts of all kinds of different races, where the db might not be appropriate.

So what I'm asking is this: can apropos automatically fit the right db for the right character, or do you manually have to replace the db before starting the game?

Separate themed db is where I was heading, but i haven't figured out the details  yet.

LOTS of things require JContainers.

If your game is crashing when you add JContainers, you screwed up somewhere.

The EASIEST way to fix it is to have JContainers as a separate mod and have it in your load order AFTER SexLab and AFTER Apropos.

SexLab has JContainers. Apropos has a newer JContainers.

If Apropos loads first, and SexLab after it, then JContainers from Apropos is being overwriiten by SexLab's older version.

BOTH SexLab and Apropos are working well with the newest version of JContainers.

Pay attention to your load order and don't blame a mod for an issue that YOU have not payed attention to. :)

This is not correct. SexLab (just checked again - version 1.59c Oct 3rd) does not include JContainers. It contains PapyrusUtil, a comparable framework.

The possible conflicts could be:

- Radiant Prostitution Mod

- Slavetats

- Familar Faces

- Some other JContainers-using mod.

I don't follow all mods with the same level of interest, so I don't track what level of JContainers support they require.

Updated sexlab

Apropos soped working

Told me I needed JContainers

JContainers CTD my game

oh well

Update SexLab to what version???? Can you provide any additional information, like other mods that you are using that leverage JContainers?

I heavily edit the db <not that Decauk, did a bad job, I just play a Futa so I had to change the "he" "him" "his" to a more gender neutral aspect and I also use 3rd person so I edited alot of his 1st and 2nd lines to a 3rd person perspective> I save all the folders and simply copy them to the db file whenever I update or reinstall. The best thing about this mod is the ability to customize it to exactly fit your tastes/preferences. Yes it is very time consuming to edit the entire db, I'm about 75% done, I have the utmost respect for someone like Decauk who could write the whole thing from scratch.

I think that speaks of the new 1.60 alpha version

Saeros, I'm not sure what you are getting at. I'm asking strfy what version of SL he upgraded to. Are you supposing he is trying against a development build of SexLab?

Why do people do this??

Folks, I just changed the requirements for Apropos (current version). Specifically, the need for 1.57x instead of 1.57+. Apropos does not support the latest dev/alpha build of SexLab 1.6!

Sorry about that. I meant 1.5x, including 1.57x and 1.59x.  Just not 1.6x. I've updated the page.
