Reesewow Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I'm using 2015 version with SL 1.60. Still crashing. We'll need more information, it works fine for me (and I'm assuming most other users or this thread would be full of tech help requests).
izi555 Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Great mod, truly awesome work. I have a small problem though. I can't change player font size in MCM Apropos menu, as well as cutting messages into segments has no effect. Normally I wouldn't mind it, but I have made some custom descriptions that are longer than the originals, which then don't display fully. Or is there a message character limit? I tried by starting a new game, but the issue persists. I'm using 2015 version with SL 1.60. Thanks in advance Cutting messages into segments is deprecated. It shouldn't be doing anything. The message boxes are designed for about three rows of text, afterwhich the text gets clipped. I would suggest you adjust your descriptions to fit into the system. Thanks for the answer, keep up the good work.
SugarBuns Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Giving this mod a go and when I tried to edit the text I had a few questions: - What is the bdsm folder for? It has a few text files that are also in the db folder, but do they serve a function or can I remove the bdsm folder all together? - What are the AnimationPatchups and Themes files for? Do I need to edit them at any point, can I delete them or should I just leave them there? - Can I just delete files or folders that I dont need? Things like Animals or HentaiPregnancy I dont need, same with footjob and fisting files. So for the sake of clarity, can I just delete these? - How do I add an unique animation? Do I create the folder, add the matching name to the UniqueAnimations.text file and then update the mod in Skyrim?

Do I create the folder, add the matching name to the UniqueAnimations.text file and then update the mod in Skyrim? The bdsm folder is one of the included folders for working with themes. You can make other folders of whatever name you wish if you want content of different styles. At this point a theme is selected at random for each sex scene, based on the numerical weights in the themes.txt file Animationpatchups allows you to specify an animation and tags to change. Want to swap an anal tag for vaginal (or the reverse)? Add a Loving tag or Aggressive to an animation you think should have it? Just follow the format there, but pay close attention to where the , and [ ] go if you want to change multiple tags at once (it really is easy). Delete or create any folders at will. If you delete a folder, you should remove its entry from the Unique animations file, but there isn't a real need... you'll just get an error in the log (if you have it turned on) that the file was missing. Apropos will default down to one of the base tags at need. If you have NSAP or Sexlab 1.6, you have a lot more animations that previously, and may find that some of the generic descriptions don't match what is going on (depending on how much you've changed them). So as you suspected, just put the matching name in the Unique file, create folder, and make as many Stage and Rape_Stage files as you need for the animation (some of the newer ones have as many as 7). You can make a file with many lines, and then copy and paste it, renaming it to each stage, just to get started. By random nature, you shouldn't see the same line each time, if you have enough lines in the file.

In the themes folder I indeed see a bdsm theme, so I assume it corresponds with the bdsm folder, but inside are a bunch of files that match the main description files. Can I just delete this and be done with it? (I know I want to delete a lot, but this editing job is going to be massive so I prefer to limit myself as much as possible )
karlpaws Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Delete anything you don't need.. you can always unpack the zip and replace it. I think the themes feature is just incomplete at this point... it was a way to have different kinds of messages availble in game without exiting and replacing the db folder. I think Gooser just threw some stock messages in there to have something, but the intent is that you'd re-create your Unique Animations folders for any that you wanted special messages. IF the mod doesn't find a folder in the theme folder, it'll look in the base DB folder. So, you could have leito_boundblowjob as a unique anim, and if the theme picked was bdsm, it would look there for a folder for that, and play the messages you'd written for your tied up bunny. If it picked... slutty for the theme, it would look there for a folder... maybe you don't have one, so it would play say femaleactor_male_oral_rape_stage1 from the base DB folder instead. I just use the theme folders for storage of messages for that theme if I come up with particularly good lines I want to keep... or for the files that decaulk and others wrote that have different kinds of messages in a single file. The harsh ones go into the bdsm file, but mostly I just keep and write stuff as if everyone in skyrim's a hedonistic debauch fucking everyone and all the dogs, horses etc too.
LearnPolish Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Hi guys, I found this mod awesome, but I don't know how to change numbers near message themes... Can anyone help?
karlpaws Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Hi guys, I found this mod awesome, but I don't know how to change numbers near message themes... Can anyone help? cannot be done from within the game at the MCM menu. find the themes.txt file in the apropos\db folder and edit that. Add or remove any theme names you want. See my posts on the previous page for other questions about it.
randomplease Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Apropos broke after installing MNC: I've uninstalled MNC since, reinstalled both JContainers and Apropos but nothing is fixing the missing messages. Most of the missing words are just genitals, e.g. 'I can feel (NPC) tightening around my as she comes.'
Grimbold the unlovely Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 A previous poster asked: "Just one follow-up question: what exactly do themes do?" Themes do pretty much whatever you want them to do--if you write your own messages. You can access different themes and the messages that fit them. You cannot (alas) yet do it from MCM. You have to do it before you load the game (by manually weighting the themes). But themes are limited only by your imagination. Just some examples: Indoors messages Outdoors messages Loving, intimate BDSM public sex private sex gay straight etc etc etc That's the beauty of Apropos. You call the tunes.
Kapes Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 So I tried 15_04_24 last night (up from 14_10_17) and I've found a conflict, er maybe overlap is the right word? anyway I found out after about an hour of struggle that "Immersive Hud" will hide the widget. On another note I can't get animations with changed tags to play text, the text isn't coming up in the console either. While I'm on the topic of the animation patch ups do you have to run it every time you reload the game? it seemed like tags were reverting every time i loaded up. Sorry if these have been answered I haven't been following the thread much and don't really want to scour the previous posts to see if its been brought up.

How were they changed? Animation Patchups only needs to be run A.) When you first install Apropos (if you've made changes to the patchups text file) or B.) If you reset SexLab's Animation Registry (which sets all tags back to default) If you've edited the patchups text file, and those animations are no longer displaying text, then chances are very high that you have a mistake in your patchups text file. Find the error, very often it's just a missed comma or quotation mark, save it, enter game and rerun patchups. If you REMOVE a tag, there STILL has to be a tag in there that Apropos recognizes. With all of the new animations, there are many tags that Apropos doesn't "see" as relevant.

That one is a known issue that's been discussed in the thread. Take a look here for a possible solution ( http://www.loverslab.com/topic/28123-apropos/?p=1323514). Good idea to use the search in the thread before posting (search "immersive" found the solution in the first set of results). Gooser: Probably would be a good idea to link that post in the OP or put that info there in the "incompatibilities" section.

By "changed tags" I meant the ones changed by patchups and I did update MNC last night too so the registry stuff makes sense. As for the text changes I will double check but they were cut and paste from others so the punctuation should be fine, all have another look though. Kapes Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Ok so I got the text to play again I'm not sure whats different from last time.. but what ever. the only animation so far that still wont play text is Leitodogdoggy. Edit: nvm I got it.
Grimbold the unlovely Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 I have recently downloaded the special visual effects (for slavetats) for the first time. My problem: no textures display even at level 8 general abuse. I am trying to find the cause. Some possibilities: 1) I have been playing as male and my expectation was that the textures would show on NPCs. Is this false? Are the textures for player characters only? 2) I am already using slavetats for tattoos (on both player and NPC) and have 6 tattoos enabled. Would that stop the textures from displahying? (But I have also removed the tattoos and still no cuts or bruises) 3) I do not use a rape mod like Defeat. I use Sexlab romance which gives access to aggressive animations (and apropos messages) via dialogue. Apropos MCM tells me that slavetats is found, and I am using version 1.1.1, so I think I am good there. Any help much appreciated! I suspect this is something simple.

W&T textures will only get applied during rape scenarios , or animations tagged as Aggressive are played. Also, W&T textures are only applied to unique NPC actors. So "Bandit Marauder" would not qualify.
Grimbold the unlovely Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Thanks, Gooser. I had thought that the Sexlab Romance dialogue line ("treat me like a slut" or "treat you like a whore") trigged animations tagged as aggressive. It certainly accesses the aggressive menu, both in sexlab and apropos (I get "rape" messages). I tend to avoid mods like Defeat (have never tried it), since my immersion relies on consensual rough sex. I have only tried the WT effects with named NPCs (followers). I can access the textures manually through the slavetats mod, where they show as part of the menu. I was hoping to get them through the "treat me like a slut" dialogue line, but if I understand you correctly that is not possible. Is that right? Apropos has become my favourite sexlab mod. It is one you grow into. Thanks so much for creating it!

You can easily verify this if the Apropos0.log lists the PC or the NPC as "(victim)" or if the aggressive tag is shown. For instance, I see neither in this log snippet: [06/18/2014 - 02:23:44AM] ---- AnimationStart ---- [06/18/2014 - 02:23:44AM] Actors >> [06/18/2014 - 02:23:44AM] [0]: Aia Arria, female <enjoyment:24> <pain:38> <arousal:33> [06/18/2014 - 02:23:44AM] [1]: E.L.L.E, female <lewd> <enjoyment:16> <pain:42> <arousal:100> [06/18/2014 - 02:23:44AM] Animation: 'Arrok Blowjob' (,,,Arrok,BBP,sex,Oral,Dirty,Blowjob,LeadIn,MF,FM)
Grimbold the unlovely Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Thanks, Gooser. Which mod do you recommend for aggressive animations and messages? I have tried Submit, but had issues. I have not tried Defeat. Any others (any non-combat options that would work with Apropos?) Many thanks

SuplenC Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Sorry for my ignorance but how can I make apropos degrade as normal but to update it state (such as applying tattoos) more frequently?

But I see (from sexlab 1.60 page) that Defeat has been flagged as having issues with 1.60. I have been cautious for that reason. Is Defeat totally compatible with the latest Sexlab?
karlpaws Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 A quick and dirty way to test is the spells from Sexlab ZZZ mod http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/240-sexlab-zzz/ It has "I rape you" and "You rape me" spells so you could do whichever with your followers and it should trigger Apropos W&T (though I don't use that myself) but it does flag the victim correctly. PS I've had more success with the 1.03 version and not the 2.0 one. Matchmaker works better for 2-4 people in consensual (don't know how to do non-con with it).
