The other thing that can happen is if you edit a file in a theme folder vs one outside in the main folder.  I forget which is which and which you want to change, but that is something else to check.

@karlpaws

Checked and updated the synonyms.txt in the theme folders (had to create theme folders for everything except bdsm as they didn't exist, and put the new synonyms.txt in those folders), refreshed in the mcm, and still getting the old synonyms. Very confusing. I thought for sure you'd figured it out.

You don't really need any of the other theme folders, and you can change the themes.txt to list whatever names you want.

If you've checked the files inside the theme folder, then I would say the one outside the folders is the one you want to check/backup/replace.

So I uninstalled apropos, cleaned my save, repackaged my synonyms.txt with the rest of the mod and then re-installed and now the console tells me that it can't parse synonyms.txt, but jsonlint.com tells me that it's valid json. lol wtf.

Woohoo! Solved it!

Went over the synonyms.txt line by line: turns out I had used a tab by accident instead of space bar.

Thanks for all your help guys,

Any solution for pussy wear and tear does net degrade? Furthermore the Abuse Tats never (ever) worked for me =/ (I do have the Abuse Slavetats Textures installed).

I've just been trying this mod out (I'm not using Slavetats though).

The degrade time for vaginal doesn't always seem to keep pace with the degrade timer. I tried setting it to 4 hours and it did start to reduce the wear and tear setting then.

It's a great mod though I'd imagine it'll have an impact on the scripting engine, though I've not seem any lag so far.

Ok, need some input here.

I'm still busy overhauling the db, and one of my main focuses is to try to greatly limit, if not completely remove, messages that might not be applicable. So, I'm getting rid of stuff like 'I need to finish before someone sees me', because the PC may be deliberately screwing for an audience. I'm also taking the time to ensure all traces of scat/urine are removed, as mentioned before.

Now, my problem is Ashmen; they count as draugr for SexLab, and therefore for Apropos too. What this means is that draugr specific messages will need to go, because Draugr and Ashmen have pretty much nothing in common. In most things, they're polar opposites. This is a shame, because there's some cool, immersive draugr/ashmen specific stuff that can be made use of.

Unless something technical happens (Ashmen animations are made separate for SexLab/Apropos works out some way to distinguish between the two), what I'm going to need to write are far more generic files that will work for both mob types.

My question is, does anyone have any ideas for common themes between the two mobs? Are there any other options? Draugr/Falmer and Giants/Lurkers have unique animations and therefore files, is there a simple way to separate Draugr/Ashmen?

I did notice when spawning some Forsworn when testing that the Db FemaleActor_Female txt files don't have any commentry in them just " " for each line.

Ignore, they're only in 1st person

Yeah, haven't gotten round to writing it yet.

Comes up in first person but for some reason it doesn't track the player like it does when attacked by a male, so there's no damage effect or change in actor level

That's probably correct. It depends upon the tags. But FF anims in general are not going to cause W&T.

Ah thanks for confirming that, though I would have thought a strapon would cause damage myself.

I'll add Decauk's Db update as well as it adds a lot of the later animations

It should but not implemented in the released version.

I hear what you are saying. Apropos would need to change to look at not just tags, but also the race of the actors. That would do it.

Would looking at the race of the actor be a generic thing, and could it allow a much wider variety of messages?

I think we'd discussed having racial comments before, for nords to insult altmer as thalmor sluts, for example.

Would it also allow for new animal animations? I am not sure that skeevers, and I don't remember what all were added, are correctly supported right now.

Ah, still need to do this myself.  Not sure where to start, now that NMM's switched over to using virtual library profiles like MO does...

Would it be feasible for Apropos to distinguish between races? I imagine it's possible, but if it's likely to be a load of work and cause a load of script heavy coding, it may not be worth it.

Skeevers wouldn't need this, as they are their own race. Only ones I can think of are foxes, which currently get viewed as wolves by SexLab. Personally, I was just gonna ignore foxes because they're rare and will never actually instigate a scene unless you manage to hit them with something like Matchmaker/Enchantress anyway.

I imagine racial slurs is possible; certainly the CK allows for this. I've even been playing around with stuff like that when entertaining myself rewriting dialogue in other mods, like Radiant Prostitution and Approach (work in progress, I'll release stuff like that when it's finished, which won't be soon as Apropos' db is my priority to 'complete' first). My worry is again, the amount of script that this may trigger, not sure it's worth it. I certainly wouldn't like to rewrite db files for each race. Maybe just tags, like {BOSMER} resulting in wood elf slurs, {KHAJIT} in khajit slurs, etc? One worry again though would be same race slurs; would it make sense for a Breton to insult another Breton for being a Breton? Not really.

One thing I do wish could get its own lines though would be Daedra. Skyrim currently views them as normal 'humans', and I think they deserve their own lines. They'd pretty much just need the rape lines anyway.

Draugr and Ashmen are just so different though, being magically animated is pretty much the only thing they have in common. Shared files for these two would need to be really generic, and miss out on some of the cooler fluff behind each race.

I think you've got the right ideas Decauk.

I wasn't thinking about script lag at all, just responding to what gooser posted, and wondering just how much that might enable or how far it could go, not whether it was truely possible or not.

I think we could either use the themes concept or just have several files to cut and paste together, as the breton insult to another breton could differ based on the player's concept.  Are you a forsworn or a loyal Imperial soldier? Free and living in the wilds, or a slave to the conquerors, living in the cities? Just two examples. I think slurs and insults would only be used in the rape files, so it would be a question of why is one assaulting the other and what might the situation be?

Anyway, the skeever issue is something else, and what I remember was as long as the race had support in Apropos, the new animation files could be written and listed as unique, but new races like skeevers and elk and I don't remember what else just used a generic femaleactor__stage1 pattern, note the double __ as it did not have a second actor name.  If the system was flexible enough and not hard coded, then whatever you were having sex with might be supported.

Forgive the elementary question, but I usually play with a male character and have only noticed this problem (if that is what it is) when I play with a female character (which I have recently started to do again).

With my male character, I can have multiple messages displayed simultaneously if 2 couples are at it at the same time. When I try that with my female character, I see only one set of messages on screen and the console tells me "could not find available widget" (or something like that). Am I right in thinking that this happens because only one set of anims can occupy the "female Actor" widget at the same time?
