Working Vagina + HDT Collisions + Hair Physics Now With Belly Support

Ugh. After several days of enjoying my Physics-enabled hairdos (and armor and earrings) my hair suddenly just went bonkers. Even barely moving, my ponytail wagged back and forth like an eager puppy, and at a run it whipped left and right so hard I thought I was going to get whiplash or something equally dire. It seems to be limited to the two Merida styes and Azar's Ponytail 03-Havok. Oddly, the other Azar ponytail in the same package (Azar HDT Ponytail 06) is stable as a rock and does NOT exhibit any untoward behavior.

I cleared out some unused or seldom-used plugins to reduce my mod count, uninstalled various mods including all hair mods, clean-saved, then reinstalled them, etc. Sometimes Azar's Ponytail 03-Havok went back to normal, sometimes not. I started a new game and made sure at character creation that I selected my favorite HDT hairstyle (Azar's Ponytail 03-Havok as modified by  :heart:Daiemonic   ). YAY! It didn't wag like a dog's tail any more! Sadly, by the time I had cleared out Bleak Falls Barrow and gone back to Riverwood, it started wagging again for no apparent reason.

I cleaned my save with two tools, but that didn't help. So I started another new game, and at first Azar's Ponytail 03-Havok was great, but a couple of hours into my new playthrough, my Azar Ponytail #3 and my Merida Hair (both Long and Short) started wagging again, with absolutely no changes made anywhere.

Can someone please tell me what it is about Azar's Ponytail 03-Havok and the long and short Merida's hairstyles that is different? None of my other physics-enabled hairstyles do this. Why is the Azar's Ponytail 03-Havok that I'm having trouble with named "Havok" while the Azar's HDT Ponytail 06 is named "HDT" and not Havok? I thought they both meant the same thing, but I'm only having trouble with Azar's Ponytail 03-Havok... and of course, that's the only one I actually want to wear all the time. :(

Please, won't one of you HDT geniuses take a moment to give me some clue why this might be happening to me and what I can do to fix it?

Thanks...

Sorry for my ignorance if it was on the post, but how to I install the Idle 1 more bounce? I use the TBBP animation of dragonfly, and I think that came with a new walk, run, and idle animation.

Sorry for the double post, but since last one was a couple days ago, I guess it's ok.

I'm getting insanely high FPS drops when I'm looking at places where people is supposed to be (for example, in Windhelm I can look down or up and I get 60 FPS, when I look to the horizon through the city it doesn't even get to 1 FPS, it's freaky). I've tried checking without mods, and while I still get stutter even without mods, of course is not that bad. My mod list is kinda old, even though I've kept stuff updated, so I'm doing today a cleaning installation and I'll check this more carefully, but I believe this happens when I'm looking at people (so that their havok is active).

The mods I use that add/change NPCs are Interesting NPCs, Seductress Serana, Skyrim Beautiful Followers/Bijin Warmaidens and RS Children, as far as I know. I've tried the RS Children fix in this thread but it doesn't seem to help much. As I said, I'm reinstalling the game and mods so I can do a bit of benchmarking as I add stuff, so I hope I can pinpoint the culprits. I suppose the worst offenders are Interesting NPCs and RS Children.

In case it is what I suspect, is there any fix that I can do, like adding the new skeleton to the new NPC files or something like that?

Check your extension logs and if you've got an error then you've got a skeleton somewhere that doesn't have the hdt belly node. RS children definitely causes it. In the pages of xpmse there's a patch for the rs children skeleton. If you can't find it, pm me and I can send it to you. the extension logs will give you npc id's that are the culprit. If you are using mod organizer it'll be really simple for you to track down which npc's it is and patch them with the correct skeleton. I think NMM has some similar way of showing mod index as well. I don't remember though.

This. If you have installed some custom race that comes with its own skeleton, this skeleton may cause the problem because of the HDT Belly node, also, if that skeleton has different nodes or named differently compared to the .xml you wont get any HDT effect in the NPCs belonging to that skeleton.

After reinstalling all my modlist, everything got fixed by itself, and I have no idea of what happened, because I'm not even using the RSChildren fix now. I suppose I had some trash files/modifications to the mods that got fixed when I reinstalled them.

I seem to be running into an issue I can't figure out. Not sure if its been answered somewhere but I can't seem to find anything on it. I am using a xml with belly support and I can't seem to figure out how to stop my characters belly from sinking in when I walk or run forward. Anyone know what settings I need to change to fix this or what causes it?

Edit! News Flash! Found the problem, please disregard plea for help, see my post further down.  Leaving this here in case it helps anyone else.

soooo umm im getting really bad fps drops after instaling the all in one hdt and yes i already did the hdt belly fix for the xp32 op. it didn't do any thing i'm using the un7b body and the newest xp32 extended skeleton as well as body slid 2, tho i did get the 1.5 slider fix thing the op said don't know if that would cause a problem or not but either way if theirs any ideas on the problem id love to know.

HDT Log?

I am having "issues" with HDT hair, as posted in another post in this thread. I need help troubleshooting. I have done a system-wide search and there is no file named "hdt.log" anywhere on my machine. Can someone at least please point me to some information to help me troublshoot the issue I'm having?

  • What is the actual name of the hdt log file?
  • What can be repeatedly changing about Skyrim during a playthrough that can cause previously-perfect Havok hair to go nuts, persistently, despite equipping/unequipping the particular hair in Racemenu, and despite uninstalling/reinstalling the hair mod, with no game or mod-affecting changes whatsoever being made by me and no changes to Skyrim.ini or SkyrimPrefs.ini at the time of the failure?

Thanks.

in your skse plugins folder you'll find the log.

havok is a finicky, bitchy mistress sometimes. Sometimes my collisions will stop working in the same gameplay for no reason. It just decides to bork. Too many things requiring the same amount of memory I imagine.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I just needed a file name, and you provided it!

Reading the log file, I discovered something interesting- whenever I wear any other HDT hair, the log just shows that it loaded. However, when I put on the hair I really want to use, Azar's Ponytail 03-Havok, the log shows that the 3 parts of it loaded over and over and over again.

Because the ponytail 03 isn't usable for me, I've been wearing the Azar's Ponytail 06 from the Daie-edited BB Hair Physics Project. The section of log below is from where I changed to the Azar's Ponytail 03-Havok using Racemenu to see if by some chance the Havok Gods had fixed the issue just as spontaneously as they broke it for me. Please note that I did NOT change back and forth between the two hairs repeatedly, although the log seems to show that. I just changed to the 03 hair ONCE and the log excerpt below shows what happened:

Is this what equipping one hair (in Racemenu) is supposed to look like?

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

You don't have any errors, so it's doing what it's supposed to do. What you're seeing is the different bones animating/working(Though I see where it's still hooked to both hairs.) I don't use those, so I don't know what they look like... It might be that the creator had some bones named the same? (Grasping straws here) It might be that some constraints need to be adjusted, but I'm not the one to consult about that lol. There's a few tutorials over in the hdt section, but it's definitely a learning curve to do.

** I had a thought, it could be, since you have earrings, body and hair, and since it's only happening on that one hair, it could be there just enough oomph set aside for the physics. You might just be overloading it. Does it still do it if you take off the earrings?

Yes, it does still do it without the dangly earrings or any physics-enabled apparel- just my lush, bouncy body  :P  and the HDT High Heels package. Also, this machine should have plenty of oomph in reserve with an Intel i5 quad core, 8GB of RAM and NVIDIA GTX970 with 4GB of VRAM.

When I first got Daiemonic's new edited HDT hair, I ran around wearing the Empire Dress or Draconic Armor, Hoop Earrings and Ponytail03 ***and a Marie HDT wig on Serana!*** It all worked great... solid 60fps... no hiccups at all... until my beloved Ponytail03 started wagging like a dog's tail for no apparent reason.

I'm also running the ENBseries memory patch (but not the graphics enhancements because I don't need/want them) and SKSE 1.70 which contains the LAA patch. Other than that there might be some tweakage I should do with my ini files, to give the game more "room" but not sure WHAT to tweak.

I run 60fps (limited by V-sync, it runs 75-90 without limiting it) with all settings on Ultra and all of the Bethesda Hi-res packs installed. Even sprinting across cell boundaries does not drop my fps even to 59, and no stuttering at all ever.

Thanks for your help, FuzzyButt  :D and I'll continue to hope that one of the great hair animators here might happen to take pity on me and suggest some path to troubleshoot and fix whatever is happening.

x3 I don't have that much oomph, that's for sure! I wish I could be more help but I just have a limited understanding when it comes to the more advanced stuff. Skyrim was never meant to do any of what we do to it and it's amazing that most of it runs as smoothly as it does (most of the time)  Only other suggestion I have is to reinstall the hair mod :( Then I'm completely out of ideas.

Quick recap before I delete my preceding posts asking for help: One of my ponytails from the XP32 Ponytail mod as edited by Daiemonic started wagging back and forth an hour or two into every playthrough I tried. After that, no matter what clothes or armor I put on, that particular hairdo remained borked. My previous posts detailed all the pain and work of trying to track this problem down.

I discovered tonight (actually, this morning: it's 2:30 AM now), after several days and nights of tearing my hair out and begging for help here, that the Empire Coat physics-enabled mod, consisting of four separate packages/files, conflicts with the BB hair Physics Project's Azar's Ponytail03-Havok.

The 4 Empire Coat files are:

Empire Coat A34568

Empire Coat Boots Addon

Empire Coat UPDATE A34868

Empire Coat XP32 AzarHair Ponytail Compatibility Patch ::facepalm::

Obviously, the compatibility patch failed to resolve *all* of the issues. :P But its name alone should have triggered a remedial response from me long before now.

I uninstalled all 4 Empire Coat mod files and PRESTO! My beautiful Azar's Ponytail03-Havok stopped wagging and resumed behaving as an uber-realistic, gracefully moving hair style. Apparently, it was failing the first time I wore the Empire Coat, which is really a dress, and from that point forward it was irrevocably borked.

I surmise that the reason starting a new game fixed it every time is that I didn't have ANY mod-added armor or clothing available in Helgen, and I finally got around to wearing HDT clothes/jewelry an hour or so into my new playthroughs- at which point my ponytail started wagging, even after I no longer wore any other HDT-enabled items.

Sadly, my Ponytail03 started wagging again, spontaneously, the next day when I loaded up my most recent save- a save that had the Ponytail03 working perfectly. I just don't get it at all.

haha! I was just about to come in here suggesting collisions of some sort. >.< Late (laaate) last night I was helping the lovable knucklehead sitting next to me with injecting hdt into his nifs for collisions and of course he's got huge knockers on his characters. Well he has the merida hair on and as soon as he loads in, The hair is going wild and kicking his bewbs over his shoulders into his ribcage... we died laughing for about 5 minutes. It didn't click until this morning that you might be having something like that. And I come in here and see you resolved it. (yey!)

Please don't delete your posts because then others might stumble upon your troubles and then learn from it. Plus my posts will be seriously confusing O.o

LOL. No worries. My problem came back, even without the empire Coat mod installed.

So I guess I just don't play Skyrim for a while. This is beyond discouraging, especially because there's no apparent reason for it.

Thanks again for your help.

I'm sure this question has been asked a million times but IF all my NPC bodies and vanilla armor outfits are already HDT then do I really need that HDT object being injected into all the vanilla outfits?

When is someone going to update this to work with XPMSE 2.22( Latest)

Nobody because it doesn't need to be updated 2.22 and 2.14 are HDT wise the same.

Ah, I came here to find out that very thing!  Thanks!
