There are no nif/meshes these are ones that are already in .OBJ format some are free resources others are DAZ/poser items so can't triangulate the mesh can't rename them as they are already in the .OBJ's this way.

 

Would I have to try to get them into bender and export them back out to see if that fixes them?

 

Don't use MO I use NMM but bodyslide/outfit studio has never been installed as I just run it from the folder in my skyrim directory.

 

You would have to triangulate them in Blender, yes.

For renaming shapes you can simply open the OBJ files in a text editor and rename the group (g) or object (o).

Better yet forgo bender and download DAZ studio import the .OBJ into it then export it back out using the correct setting. I (saved file as wavefront .OBJ) then (set first one to lightwave) exported it out (using the poser one) tried it out and it loaded right up just fine in outfit studio. The item is super tiny like fly tiny but nothing some scaling won't fix. Might need a bit more testing to get the correct settings.

Hey there, I'm trying to export my outfit from bodyslide but it comes up with a error for unweighted vertices. I try to use the weight brush to fix the highlighted areas, but for some reason the brush doesn't affect them at all.

It puts a mask on them. The mask makes it unaffected by changes. You have to either invert the mask to lock everything except the vertices that need weighting or clear it altogether. These options can be found under the 'Brush' at the top.

^ Oh, okay then. That's easy to figure out then.

 

I do have a problem with a few faces on the mesh turning invisible though, which I think is because of their normals. Is there a fix for that?

You can flip the normals and faces in Nifskope. If you want to flip individual faces and not all of them, you'll have to do it in Blender or Max. You should also check your alpha properties and/or alpha layer on your texture and make sure everything's as it's supposed to be. If either is set too strongly it can cause extra transparency.

I'm trying to export and cloak with hood up and a variant with the hood down, but I've tried weightpainting the vertices it highlights as being unweighted, but than when I export it just highlights others in a different place.

Make sure you're on the latest version of OS. There's also tons more fixes coming up related to everything in the next version soon.

I'm a total noob when it comes to bodyslide, i'm not even sure if this is the proper thread to ask. Maybe there is already a tutorial, but i don't know which is the one to use :(

I have a mod with custom outfit for UNO, and a zip-file for CBBE HDT with shapedata and slidersets. I'm using MO and as far as i can say, it's properly configured to use Bodylside. So, what do i do whith this zip file? And what do i have to do after that?

Okay it might be a stupid question but :

 

Where/how do I change the glossiness of my body presets? I mean I want all my future outfits I "batch convert" to have a my gloss/specular settings from the BSLightingShaderProperty, I use a my own preset based on the UNP.

 

And second question:

I smoothed few areas of my body ( mostly belly/underbreasts to minimize weird jagged effects ) and is there any way to add my edited-body-mesh to the batch conversions? And make it work like a custom preset that supports it? Because I would like to use my smoothed-body not the raw-body-preset-with-jagged-edges.

 

I hope you know what I mean, I just want to replace body meshes automatically with my new ones that I have edited manually in the OutfitStudio(with brushes)

I have been having an issue with edited meshes causing ctd on equip.  i have done a cpl things like remove a part of mesh and/or increase a mesh part slightly to fit 7b legs from unpb outfit, on 2 diff pieces even after redoing both 3 times still crash exactly upon equiping them.  i dont believe i have done anything different than i have done many times before on mesh work in outfit studiio but just recently cannot seem to get these particular pieces to work. any suggestions or info is appreciated, thank you. 

 

edit:  on 1 of them it actually equipped once and was fine until i tried something else on and tried to reequip it, when it ctd again. so it "worked" for a minute, not sure if that is a clue for why its not working or not.  also im up to date on BS&OS

 

and just for completeness sake, the 2 pieces in question are the stockings from backsteppos french maid outfit and the thong C from dragon bone bikini.

 

edit to the edit: i am getting fatal exception error on a consistent basis after loading a 3rd mesh or so.  never had this happen before, just last couple of days. thank you for any help in advance.

Have you made sure all mesh pieces are triangulated? Right click each piece in nifskope and go to mesh and make sure they say stripify if they say triangulate try changing it and see if that works. Make sure to back up nifs before hand.

 

Could be something is wrong in the mesh. Look in the nif too see what bone nodes there are and then look at them in outfit studio and click the bone node list and make sure the same ones are present. Many times a CTD on equip means missing nodes somewhere or skeleton isn't compatible with the nodes in the nifs. I have seen before where everything is great all nodes there but when loaded into outfit studio a bunch of the nodes were not appearing in the list.

 

Fatal exception error when loading something means there is something bad in that mesh/.OBJ or something that outfit studio can't handle so it causes it to crash. I get it a lot with trying to load .OBJ's into outfit studio but have recently found a way through that by first importing them into DAZ using the blender setting then exporting them back out using the same setting then loading them into blender and exporting them back out again in .OBJ. It also works great for when loading a .OBJ and the mesh looks like someone sneezed and it works on things that cause outfit studio to lock up on save/export.

thanks for response, i see stripify in the mesh list but not sure if this is the problem or not.  it seems that anything i work on in outfit studio lately just wont work in game, and if it does equip without crash it will ctd after taking off and re-equipping or even just randomly ctd in a cpl minutes.  made some slight changes to a completely new armor last night and it equiped fine on 1 char and then crashed on another after having it on for maybe 30 seconds.  also i noticed from another set it had bodies attached in OS to parts of the outfit that shouldnt have bodies.  its like OS isnt loading or exporting correctly?  not sure.  this only has happened last cpl of weeks and i havent done anything different than i have done many times before, like changing the mesh or removing pieces etc.  i update BS regular also but same results, i even tried going back to the previous BS version, same thing.   its like OS just got weird all of the sudden.  could it be caused from a slider set causing issues with other ones?  i will try uninstalling recent BS conversions and see if this helps,  since its only been last cpl weeks there wont be many i have to uninstall.  thanks, other than that i am totally lost as to why meshes i change just wont work all the sudden. 

 

idk, but i think the bodies being loaded with meshes that shoudlnt have bodies may be a clue?  the meshes i refer to are the thongs from the dragon bone bikini set, all loaded with a body and when i deleted it and made my changes now it works fine in game, i can equip and take off and no ctd.   so i think there is something happening on loading and exporting meshes that has gone haywire for my OS.  maybe that info can give a clue as to whats wrong or what mistake i am making or doing different that i dont realize?

If the starting mesh items in a nif say stripify then it has already been triangulated. If you delete a body out of a nif and after that the outfit no longer causes any CTD's would be telling me that there might be a skeleton issue somewhere. Do you check them out using the CK (creation kit) which is one of the best ways to see if something is crap or not because something that happens in game will almost always do the same in the CK.

 

Spazzing armor in game will appear in the CK CTD in game can happen when trying to add the nif into the .esp sometimes it will cause the CK to crash (big hint that something is wrong)

the body i deleted from the thong shouldnt be there in first place  is what im saying, on the dragon bone bikini set the only parts with a body attached are the bikini tops usually.  its random what outfit studio seems to mess with lately. i did another new outfit last nite and in game no problems.  so its seemingly random what outfits will work and which ones will just cause crash.  if it has bodyslide files the outfit seems to work fine, its only on meshes i open and change in some way in outfit studio that has a chance to cause a ctd either on equip or soon after in game.  i never seen anything happen like this at random with meshes i open or change in outfit studio.  its hard to pinpoint it because it doesnt happen on every mesh but only seems to happen in outfit studiio meshes that i open or change.  sry if i havnet explained well and also i am not sure exactly what to do with the stripify and traingulate you are talking about.  i opened some of the meshes in nifskope and saw stripify in the mesh list, do i need to actually do something in that list?  thanks for trying to help, have good day.

 

edit: is it possible that some meshes got messed up in some way when updating BS&OS so that when opening the mesh in OS it isnt correct or it gets saved wrong in some way when exporting?

I have the newest build and have never had any problems except with certain .OBJ's the only time a body mesh gets added to a nif is if I use the export - export nif with reference. If you use file - export - export nif with reference it will add the body that you added to the outfit while it is in outfit studio if you use export - export nif it will only export the items in the nif except for the body.

Outfit Studio still doesn't work with ModOrganizer, right? Or has someone figured out a way to fix that? (and by "doesn't work" I mean freeze/crash upon trying to create or load a project in OS) On stuff like this I'm always inclined to lean towards "user error," so that's why I'm asking.

 

A workaround for this is to install a second iteration of BodySlide into a junk directory, but when I do that NONE of the textures of the armors I'm working on show up (even though they're in the same dir). Can this be fixed by editing the config file...?

With Mod Organizer, the textures aren't located in your real Skyrim directory. So when you're not running BodySlide through Mod Organizer, there's nothing redirecting BodySlide to use the (multiple) folders of Mod Organizer instead of the Skyrim Data directory.

 

You can edit the settings in BodySlide to point to a different game data path, but since Mod Organizer has MULTIPLE data paths (one for each) mod, this won't work. Unless you duplicate all textures of the armors you're working on into a temporary folder.

Thanks, however this is entirely unrelated to Clams of Skyrim (it will happen with everything you load).

It's a bug with various graphics cards/drivers that I fixed for the next version already.
