This is my first try at this mod, so there will be a lot more questions coming up.

The first being that, I seem to be stuck with the quest called Joyride. I went through device-> adjust problematic sex attributes stats-> joy, the quest pops up and doesn't really tells me to do anything. What is expected of me to do from there on? Is there a button I should press or what.

Just an optional quest, and it means to use the Joy dildo that Marina has given you a few moments before, on the terrace.
This is done through the dildos menu in your implant menu.

Its role is precisely to make people aware of how to activate these dildos ( and the fact that it is done via a menu entry in the implant menu, and not an object in your inventory).
Marina actually tells you that usage info, specifically, word for word, "you can only use it via your implant menu".
It gets completed after you successfully use joy once.

The implant menu is activated with a hotkey that you need to set up in the MSMA MCM, in the hotkeys page.

Updated the mod with :

1.107 Patch to remove the 10-second lag on loss of control via cravings, from the moment when your target says "Want to do it here or want to go somewhere more private" to when the menu with these choices actually opens up. Now there should be no lag anymore.
Propagated the stable version too, because it was kind of annoying to have to wait that long.

A really bizarre cause for it too.
A scene jump action that has a "do on phase end " checkbox checked apparently causes that ~10 second lag,  while if I create a new phase after the current phase,  put the jump action in the newly created phase instead, and do not check that  " do on end" checkbox,  then both phases execute in succession much faster than the one phase before. Seems to run right away with no lag now. But logically makes little sense, or there's something I am missing around this behavior.

Oh wait, I did not read carefully.
You select that, and nothing happens?
The quest should autocomplete after you successfully use"Joy" once.
Does the animation of using Joy never start?

Or it starts, but the quest does not autocomplete on end?

Then you probably didn't thave the prerequisites installed when you started MSMA? (Dathroman animation pack and bad dragons dildos?)
If you installed them later on ( or never installed them) they never got activated; the activation happens at the very start of MSMA. They need to be present then, or forever hold their peace. Perhaps right now, the mod assumes you do not have them.
Or if you are using NAF instead of AAF, have you ran your XML re-importer after installing MSMA, so that this mod's specific animations are registered with NAF?

Can you give me the papyrus log to figure out what is happening?
Or a movie recording?

That's right, the animation never started. I'm gonna reinstall dartmouth and see what happens. My guess is that some of its prerequisites are missing.

I'm using aaf btw.

Also, could you tell me how to get the papyrus log?

In comparison with the latest, I found some of those created last summer to be rather crude (not all, some of them hold up).
I might have to redo some of the old songs.

Crude in what way, tone, execution, or editing? I know a few have ~1-2 second gaps that suggest 2 takes were stitched together, and the odd word choice or pronunciation being slightly off, but nothing that seems particularly bad. 🤔 On that note, did you want more music and QoH data or are you good?

This never worked for me, extremely annoying during Fever Dream for NR, but never occurred for me in MSMA. Will try to remember Hiono and Judge007's ideas next time.

Ah, you didn't say the mod gave you a poup window with a reason why using Joy never started.
That provides more clues.  It is logical though, that if using Joy never starts, then the quest that tracks using Joy never completes.

The question is now why does the MSMA mod believe it is not the time for your characters to be using dildos?  Seems peaceful enough from the screenshot.
There could be even more clues for this detective work if you made a movie or provided the papyrus log :)

Make sure you install the needed prerequisites BEFORE starting a new MSMA playthrough.
Given that you see this pop-up, I am inclined to make an educated guess that you perhaps installed a restraining mod ( Devious Devices, KFT, or Real Handcuffs)   AFTER starting up MSMA, after getting that pop-up with the age check, and not before. This means that likely the keywords that help with restraint detection are not actually initialized in the restraints manager, leading to undefined behavior and a false positive about you wearing restraints, perhaps.
Or are you really wearing like chastity gear, or anal/vaginal plugs?

Also, a mental note for me to edit that message to say  "not in chastity gear"  instead of "in not chastity gear." and correct the typos there.

Sidenote: Do you have confirm boxes installed?
The straight lines on the pop-up box sides make me think that maybe it's not (correctly installed), or you have another conflicting mod that overrides its SWF/disables it.
Or did you manually select that straight edges" style, instead of the rounded defaults?
zzztestr.thumb.jpg.6abd9a5309380150d384ef24497abc7e.jpg
Also, what version of MSMA  are you on?
The base menu has been changed. a bit, in terms of how the second option is named.

Is it a possibility to :
- install ALL the needed prerequisites listed on the main page
- then once they are installed, start a new game with the latest MSMA downloaded from the front page  (the main mod file , as well  the two multimedia resource zip files)

Sorry, the order of how things happened was:

1. get joyride quest from device-> adjust problematic sex attributes stats-> joy,

2. no animation was played,

3. retrace back to where the quest was issued,

4. resulting the second screenshot says "not in chastity gear", blocking me from further interaction.

The version is Main_PRELUDE_[2026_12_3_Stable_Release].

I made these screen shots after reinstalling darthroman, and it appears to be missing for unknown reasons. I've also attached the loadorder file, hope it provides help.

I'll restart a new save when I get the opportunity, survival mod wasn't exactly the best choice for trying new things like now.

Got it.
An unvalidated Darthroman anim pack is a clear "smoking gun" for why the dildo animations in general, and Joy in particular, did not work.
Let's see why it does not get validated.

Might be tied to why you think you are using  MSMA Stable Release 12_3, but the implant menu in you screenshots, the second option still has the old name, as if you were using the esp from 12_1 or older. Or why are the lines straight on your pop-up boxes instead of curved.
Maybe in your mod manager, there are some old mod cached files that it refuses to refresh/let go of, perhaps?

1. Specifically, which version of Darthroman's animations did you install?  Maybe it was a really oldversion? The latest from its LL thread here should work.

2. Did you start a brand new MSMA game after installing it?  This is important.

3. Papyrus log might still be useful.

There are some that .. I don't know.. don't sound right to me anymore.
Might be the naive/crude verses more than the actual melody/arrangement.

There's also a world of stylistical explorations to do, so it might bring in more variety.
There are very few rock or metal-sounding ones I realized  kinda might go well with the raider theme.

Running Hot (Let the Mischief begin) v4

Running Hot (Let the Mischief begin) v5

v4 and v5 because 1 2 and 3 are more hiphopish and are here: https://www.loverslab.com/topic/245511-msma-sexfight-like-succubus-drain-and-bimbofication/page/172/#findComment-7317790

And I have this idea that if the player abuses the invoking QOH super power on cooldown the Running Hot song is what will play in ever more strange or "derranged" versions.

Running Hot (Let the Mischief begin) v6

Running Hot (Let the Mischief begin) v7 total insanity ( frankly, I never imagined I would find a place for death metal with growls and everything, but here we are)

If you have play data for longer playthroughs, more data points are always good.

I rechecked, you're right, the version is 2026_12_1 instead of 12_3, my mistake.

The rest, however, I believe they are the newest available to me. I'm using darthroman 1.0.5, which is the newest free version; 1.1.0, being only open to those who have paid on patreon.

Since it is my first time trying modded fallout 4, i'm also expecting the environment in general to be fairly clean, there shouldn't be any relic of past mods intervening.

I haven't got the chance to sit through a new game opening, and "since start me up" seems to have bad influence to the game, I didn't consider using it. Both that and the Papyrus log should be available once I got the time.

Then the mystery deepens, 1.05 is the exact version I am using, and it validates fine over here.  It is versions older than 1.03a that wouldn't validate in spite of being installed. 1.04 or higher should be good.
A new game started after everyting in installed and in order, and a papyrus log captured from the session with the event is occuring, are indeed the next detective steps.

Usually, to avoid start me up, I do the following:
- Start a vanilla new game with zero mods.
- Progress through pre-war section
- Exit the pod, progress to just before exiting vault 111 for the very first time ( before stepping on the platform taking me to the surface)

Save the game, keep that save as a "Unmodded pristine starting point".

Is on it, where I activate AAF and all my mods and start new games every time.

I will surely try this.

Is it normal that darthroman appears only in "mods" section of vortex and not "plugins"? Could this be the problem?

might be. I have only used mo2 or no mod manager.
never vortex, so I am unfamiliar.

It could be that its ESP is not being loaded because it is not in that plugins section.

AAF_DR_creature_pack.esp should definitely appear there, else is "no bueno"

Vortex has some quirky features, and unlike MO2, not all information is available at a glance.

9 times out of 10, the user has not made sure the mod was installed properly.

Definitely not a newb friendly Mod Manager . . .

True that.

Too much conflictions, think I'm giving up the current mod list and gonna start from scratch.

Well, if you simply make sure the DarthRoman esp is actually loading, I don't think there is much else that is a problem.

Hope it would be that simple. The problem is, there's more what went wrong. Some of the animation packs must have broken the prologue, making actors in the prologue acting weird and can't progress. I've also tried using an unmodded save like you mentioned before, then MSMA won't initialize, not even with the MCM emergency button. At this point, I think it's best to start over.

What I was describing before is that the pre-war prologue should be traversed in an unmodded state. (This is actually recommended for MSMA, too)
The whole idea is/was to activate mods inpost war, just before getting on the platform.

Also, if it does not activate, I would love to see the papyrus log for that. You also have more verbose start-up functions that you can activate. That can tell you what's happening with pupups every step of the way.

Played through this probably two dozen times now ( been messing with my LO for a while now) and I'm sorry to say this latest version is the worst by far ( as far as I'm concerned )

Apparently enemies can see you kill a bug five minutes ago, half a mile away and no matter what you do you cannot surrender, you also appear to have disabled the ability to use the Violate surrender ability. So after that I went to two other raider camps, both would not let me surrender, I assume they can see into my inventory as well as the past/future, this was with auto surrender on, even the bugs attacked me on sight.

Might just carry on with an older version (pity coz was looking promising) but if you keep dictating how I should play my game then sorry! I'm out of here.

Hello

You're assuming a lot about my intentions, out of the gate.  No such changes were made (at least not intentionally).

I will take a look, but so far in my tests, the auto surrender pop-up and the manually invoked one worked okay.

Will also try killing a bug before heading out in a raider camp, to see what's what.
Maybe something did happen there.

Three questions
1 . When you say " cannot surrender,"  are you referring to using the normal Violate button to surrender?
    Or the MSMA sexfight button?
Pressing the violate button to surrender should work 100%, if there is any issue with the MSMA one, as a stop-gap solution.

2 . When you say " cannot surrender,"  do you mean "cannot surrender at all" or "cannot surrender in the specific extra lenience way, whenthe enemy do not     perceive you as a threat only in the normal  way"

3. Are you using the MSMA HUD, AND are you trying this Sexfight button surrender immediately after a quick load game?
Currently, to prevent HUD-related issues, when you load a game, until the HUD is fully initialized, the MSMA hotkeys (Sexfight implant,  reports, and whatnot) are " on pause" in terms of spawning new popups for a few seconds; they don't do anything.

I am not ruling out that a bug might be there, and if so, I will find it and fix it,  but if it is, it is likely not related to the latest version.
