What I have seen is the player using her/his name in the Heartfire initial quest (talking to the jarl of Falkreath ) "Hello, I am *****, I recieved your letter". Is not the player dialogue part of the general dialogue ?

Yes, it works in stuff that you (the player) says. What the engine calls Topic Prompts. However, it does not work in anything that a NPC says (what the engine calls Topic Infos).

I assume it has to do with voice acting. I recently explained this in the thread for my mod in greater detail, if you're interested.

CreationEngine is a pile of junk and if you've dove into it a bit, everyone's going to see that clearly. Here are a few examples:

1. You can't disable V-Sync or you'll break physics when going faster than 60fps

2. Papyrus is horribly slow, since it shares time with the graphics renderer. Thus, if you change the Papyrus time in the ini file, you're hurting your framerate

3. It's bug ridden to hell

 

If I had enought time and were allowed to do so, I'd port Skyrim from the CreationEngine to Unreal 4 engine. *sigh* Everyone is whining about TESO, when it has (apart from the problems it has) the clearly better engine.

Without having actually seen the code, in Bethesda's defense, I assume you'd have to make quite a few deals with the devil to squeeze an open world of that magnitude into the 512 MB RAM of a Xbox360 or the hard-partitioned 256/256 MB of a PS3. I can see that taking resources away from a desperately needed overhaul of the old engine.

 

TESO didn't have to do that because it's only for the new consoles which actually have some memory installed.

That's one big limiting factor yes. But there are so many things that are just wrong in the engine. After all, it's just a heavily modified version of the Gamebryo engine, which also powered Morrowind and Civ IV

Probably not. Fallout 4 is still using the CreationEngine and TESO only uses a different engine because Gamebryo's online capabilities are... well shit (just look at WAR).

It shows. Fallout 4 has many of the problems Skyrim had (or has), mainly performance.

 

But in that regard I've lost hope. Bethesda has great ideas for games, but they simply can't get it done properly in the end.

Wow, I guess it makes a kinda sense with how they handle voice acting, but wow...  I need to crack open a few custom npcs, I know some mention not only the sex of the player but race as well, must be gobs of lines.

 

 

40 individual entries should cover everything from vanilla Skyrim. You'd have to handle sex, race, and then double it for vampire races.

 

For NPCs, you'll also have to handle the Elder race, and whatever unique races specific NPCs have, if any (there are surprisingly many unique NPCs that don't use any of the normal races).

 

Plus an option to handle non-vanilla races, if you want to be complete.

 

The Reward Your Followers mod does that. It was a pain in the ass, and most players won't ever notice 90% of it.

 

Bethesda's reliance on voice acting puts some severe constraints on what you can do with dialogue. Apparently it's even worse in Fallout 4.

I found out why that happens. When you delete a property, you need to:

 

1. Clear the property so it's empty, as if you just added it without filling it

2. Save.

3. Delete the line in the script.

4. Save.

5. Pray to the gods.

 

Failure to do any of those steps may leave an error, because of the profoundly stupid way the Creation Kit handles properties.

In particular, make sure you always empty a property before deleting the script line.

 

At least, it seems to work for me. YMMV.

Sorry if this has been asked already, but were you able to sort out the issue with the zaz animation pack for v4? And, as a suggestion, it would be a nice convenience if you made the reset options (reset player idle, en-/disable player controls) assignable to a hotkey.

Only 4 quests had minor changes - Package retrieval, Free Trial, Customer Assist 01 and the Embassy quest but each had some changes done (some more than others)

About 12 quests were deleted entirely and replaced with something else, these include - Delivery quest, Punishments MP01 and MP02 (MP03 was gutted and left as a bridge for other mods to connect to the player slavery start)

Several quests were gutted and rewritten (all dialogue and scenes deleted and the script cleared of everything but the header)

 

At first the only visible changes will be the MCM menu but as you get into it you will notice that a lot has changed.

yes the mod is also getting translated to german. that doesnt mean the majority of the users are german or understand german ^^ but no problem

Nope, I'm not German, I did take classes in highschool for it, failed miserably and dropped it after a semester. CGi handles the German translation and localization for the mod.

 

 

V4 works with Cursed Loot but it is a bit give and take. CD can remove some of the devices from Cursed Loot but some of the features in Cursed Loot (sex attacks and a lot of things like that) can cause scenes to break so it is advised to disable that stuff in the MCM menu during scenes or if you become a slave. As for Defeat, the only issue I have had is if you get beaten badly enough by the bandits it will trigger Defeat but they are usually teleported away before anything happens.

If anyone wanted to translate this into another language I would support them and their work just as I support CGi. I am happy enough that someone likes the mod enough to go through all that work.

Get back to work Veladarius, my balls are blue.

Also is it this or some other mod that the character stop to rub herself every 5 seconds when a belt with plugs is on. How do I turn that off?
