I did have a save right before talking to Huki. After reloading and trying the dialogue again several times, I found a workaround: when I skip through Huki's dialogue lines quickly, then the force-greet from Ulfric triggers correctly: [INFO:xxA1B236] ('They enjoyed your perverted act a little too much, I think! I've never seen such a filthy woman.'

 

I even verified that workaround a second time to be sure. So there seems to be a timing issue with switching Ulfric's AI package. His dialogue condition requires a specific AI package.

 

Anyway, with this workaround I can now proceed on to the Snake Island quest. Yay! 👍

 

By the way, I loved the Windhelm Pit fighter quest line! ❤️

Doing the solitude quest and the elf girl won't follow me into the embassy. I get a message saying the guards won't let your follow pass. Tried talking to them and nothing happens and the quest progress likes shes there up till I have to follow Ondolomere to the room cause he's just waiting for her but she can't go in.

Open the console, click on the elf girl, and once you’re inside, type ‘moveto player’. To be honest, though, after speaking to the guard at the door, this NPC should move along with your character.

I just started the Windhelm quest and won my first pit fight. Then I lost against the skeevers and just died and had to reload. Now I wonder what should happen when I lose a pit fight. Do I really just outright die and have to reload until I win every fight or should the quest somehow progress anyway. I am asking because I have defeat mods installed (which I disabeld for the quest) and am not sure if they are still somehow interfering with the pit fights.

You need win all fights in pit using weapons or later by sex.

Hi, thaks for this amazing mod I really enjoyed, I just finished the Windhelm quest part, just returned from Snake Island, the Pit team members say bye and asked me to share the bounty so i did, and just it, nothing more happened, no new task or anything, I went to find Hela where she said in Palace of the Kings but she wasn´t there and if I speak to Balazar He doesn´t say anything new, I don´t know how to finish the quest... Any idea or help please? Thanks a lot.

Glad you liked it. I've looked at the Jarl's force greet package and dialogue and it all looks right. I'm giving him the force greet package though a scene, which starts at the end of Huki's conversation. The scene should start instantly, so I'm confused. I can try changing this to move the force greet package to his actor alias and see if that makes it better.

Sorry, I need to double-check but I think one of the share amount dialogues is bugged. I'll fix, but in the meantime you can advance the stage in the console with:

 

setstage BLZR_Windhelm2 520

I haven't moved her anywhere - just made her sandbox in her house while the PC is in town.

 

If all else fails, you can use "setstage BLZR_Riften 240" to move on in the quest. The log will tell you the information you missed through conversation.

Old issue but still happening to me, nearly certain its cause by having a mod that changes Sylgja's house, causing the quest to get stuck on stage 215 since the actors cant get in place for stage 220. (For me setting it to stage 220 started the scene with Sylgja and the fox in the void outside her house, teleporting her to me after started her quest dialogue like you would expect)

 

Made a quick patch between this mod and The Great Town of Shor's Stone, tested and fixes incompatibility in my game

Edit- moved this patch to its own mod file

Is there any way to skip a quest? I’m using SexLab P+, and I sometimes get CTDs when animations start or end (recently with Dwarven Centurions and dragons), which is blocking my progress.

There's an even more confusing issue with the Windhelm quest. At first, I couldn't get the dialogue with Ulfric. Okay, I just reset the quest and the dialogue started working, but...

 

After Ulfric calls the guards, nothing happens. At all.

Hi, I have exactly the same problem. Did you find a solution? 

I tried everything, but initially, the dialogue line with Ulfric about Balazar didn't appear. I checked the SQS and it turned out that some quest steps were already completed, like 640. So, forcing the quest to start would fail from the very beginning. 

I reset it, and now the dialogue appears, but the guards don't come running to Ulfric's request. Nothing happens, and the dialogue remains. In this case, launching via SetStage is impossible.

I checked that dialogue and everything looks correct. The end of that dialogue does two things: 1) sets a global variable so Balazar doesn't get bothered in the city, and 2) starts the Windhelm quest.

 

You can do the same with the following console commands:

It doesn't work at all, I'm telling you, I have two options: either we just sit in prison and no one approaches us, and in the hallway there's an immortal Imperial soldier fighting Ulfric's men. Or I reset the quest, and then your command combination is ignored, and the quest doesn't start. If you want, I can make a recording for you of what isn't working.

Okay, the issue is resolved. I replayed it to check. Anyway, make a note in the description that you can't do the "Blood on the Snow" quest. This was the only thing that changed during the playthrough; somehow this quest affects setstage BLZR_Windhelm 640, 650, and 660. This is precisely the circumstance under which the quest is blocked. But in any case, watch the video for clarity.

I've already completed this quest more than once, I didn't even think about the fact that in all versions I didn't do any quests in the city at all.

 

I wonder if there are similar bugs with other cities?

Thanks. But I'm still puzzled. If I'm understanding correctly, there are two issues:

 

1) Resetting the BLZR Windhelm quest results in your PC not being teleported to the prison cell after the Jarl's "Guards! Throw them in the dungeon" dialogue.  This one I don't fully understand, but I don't consider it a bug because the quest isn't designed to be reset. 

 

2) In normal play (without resetting), your PC is teleported to the prison cell, but the guard that's supposed to force greet you is an Imperial guard and thus starts a fight with the vanilla Stormcloak guards (because Ulfric is the Jarl), and fails to let you out of the cell. I think I know what the problem is here. When you speak with the Jail, one of the dialogue lines detects which Jarl you are talking to and sets a variable. That variable is then used to determine which mod-added guard to enable (Imperial or Stormcloak) to force greet your PC in the prison. I put this check in the middle of the Jarl's dialogue in a way that might be skipped if you are skipping fast through the dialogue -- something that is more likely on subsequent playthroughs. If this dialogue is skipped, the mod will default to a Imperial guard, which is of course a problem if Ulfrich is Jarl. Bad design on my part, and I have already fixed it in my working copy. I've only recently begun to understand that scripts attached to dialogue can be skipped by skipping through dialogue fast.

 

EDIT: I meant to add that, while anything is possible, I don't think the Blood on the Ice quest could cause the wrong mod-added NPC guard to be enabled.
